IPhone 4s submerged in water?? Help!

I dropped my phone in the toilet but only for about 3 seconds. I immediatley took it out, dried it off, turned it off, and placed it in a bowl of rice for the night. The next morning, I turned it on, and there was water in the lens of my back camera, and no speakers worked. Everything else is fine. I was told by my freind who submerged her 3GS to turn it back off and keep it in the rice for two more days and it would dry out the camera and speakers. Not sure if this will help what damage is already done. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

had several ipod touch and iphones submerged and lived to tell the tale
put them in an open bowl of rice on the radiator for 48hours
in my case they always come back to life even if my current iphone4 still got a sport under the screen from
the fluid

  • IPhone 5 submerged in water, but did not turn off/will not turn off. Best course of action?

My iPhone 5 was just in the sink under running water and mostly submerged for a few seconds. It stayed on with all buttons working, clear screen and clear camera lens. I have tried to turn it off, but every time I try it reboots. I removed the SIM - it was completely dry, but since I can't see the inside I'm assuming there's definitely moisture in there.
I currently have it in an airtight bag with silica gel, and I'm planning to leave it for a day or two, but it's still on. Should I keep trying to turn it off, or is it better for me to just leave it? I don't have the necessary equipment to remove the battery, unfortunately.

Last attempt to turn phone off actually did turn the phone off. Not going to touch it for a day or two, and hoping for the best.

  • Iphone 6 submerged in water

iphone 6 submergerd for seconds in water but seems OK
    need to of anything?

Yes, don't use it and put it in a bowl of dry rice for at least a week (some claim you only need to do it for 12-72 hours but I've read other places that you need a week). While it may seem okay, turning it on after submerging it in water may have worked initially but you could have caused some shorts in the components. Corrosion can happen over time and cause problems in the long-run. You may end up needing to pay for an out-of-warranty repair.

  • My iPhone got submerged in water and won't start up. What do I do?

My iPhone went into the pool yesterday and will not start up. What do I do? Will it sync anyway?

It is probably dead.  The worst thing you can do is try to turn it on or charge it.
You will probably need a new one.
You can try letting it dry for a week or two.

    $149
They do not repair .Apple exchange and all returned units are refurbished at The Apple plants in China
So you get a device that looks like and functions like new
Are you familiar with the results of water and electricity mixing

  • HT1766 Is it possible to save an iphone that has been submerged in water?

Is it possible to get the iphone in working condition again if it has been submerged in water?

Make sure not to power it on, put it in a bag with rice for a few days; and test it out then, and pray. Really once a device is submerged in water your warrenty is nulled; you can get a replacemen tfor 149$; but this is the only hope you have to see if the device will work afterwards.

You need to do more research before you make purchases like this. You've wasted your money. The ONLY officially unlocked iPhone model sold in the US is the GSM model, and that model is only sold by Apple. That's the model iPhone you should have purchased.
Did you read & understand my initial post? Especially this part:
The unlocking of the GSM portion is just for International travel in order to use local sims. You still have to pay Sprint for the use of their international GSM partner’s network on a “pay as you go basis”.

Turn it off. Then put it in a plastic bag of uncooked rice for 5 days. Then try to turn it on. If it still works you are very lucky.

  • IPhone 5 suffered heavy water damage, just started functioning regularly-- Need help!

So last July my iPhone 5 experience severe water damage. Apple store employees said that there was little they could do. The phone would not function
Fast forward to 6 months later: I hook up the phone to the wall outlet and the black screen shows up with rows and rows of white text. I can hook it up to iTunes but it can't restore.
Fast forward to today (a year later): I plugged my phone into the wall outlet and hooked it up to iTunes. The phone successfully was updated and restored. It now seems to function normally. I'm considering calling my carrier to switch back to my iPhone 5, however I'm not sure if it will fail on my later because there was extensive water damage before. What are your guys' thoughts?

It will fail at some point or start acting in a strange manner. And such failure will occur at the time you need the device the most according to my friend Murphy. When the device was water damaged you could have gotten an out of warranty replacement for less than the price of a new phone. In fact you may still be able to get such a replacement. Check with the local Apple store.

  • HT1349 My ipod was submerged in water monentarily. I have dried it with a hair dryer and set it in the sun for 1 hour. It now will turn on and only bring up the connect to itunes screen. My keypad is locked and will not unlock by connecting to itunes.

My ipod was submerged in water momentarily. I have dried it with a hair dryer and have placed it in the sun for 1 hour.  It will now turn on but will only bring up the connect to itunes screen. When I connect to itunes it is not recognized because it is locked with a security code. I have tried to reset the ipod using the instructions in the user manual to no avail. The accessibility screen is functional because I can turn on/off the voice over and the black and white screen. I think I am making progress but cannot unlock it. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

Unfortunately, using a hair dryer or placing the iPhone in sunlight, at best, will dry the outside of the device. If water got inside, it may still be possible that this water has not dried and can short out the internal battery or cause other circuit damage ... and what you are seeing may be the results of that. I would recommend that you leave the iPhone turned off and take it to your local Apple Store. They may be able to help, but I wouldn't expect them to offer you a replacement. Sorry!

Only the original cellular provider can authorize unlocking. You will need to contact them to determine if they offer unlocking and if the phone qualifies.

  • IPhone 6 Submerged in Saltwater

So I went out in the salt water at my town beach and I had my Silver 64GB iPhone 6 in my shorts pocket and next thing you know I tripped over a rock or something and quite a bit of my iPhone got submerged. When I took it out of my pocket I noticed part of my screen just suddenly went white and the rest was black. Any ideas as to what to do to? Hopefully putting it in rice for 24 hours will resolve the issue.
    I really appreciate the feedback!
    Thanks,
    Sam

If it was salt water the phone is dead. You should be eligible for an out of warranty replacement for $299, as long as the phone was never jailbroken or opened.
