Hey everyone... need some help and direction here...
it bothers me a lot, for several times my iphone 4 keep showing 3G even though i turn the 3G option off. This always happen especially when am home, first it looks normal, it shows edge but after several minutes it changes to 3G again and again. i noticed that this thing happened since i upgrade to iOS 5.
is there anyone here that experiencing the same problem? because i've tried to restore it three times, but nothing changed... thank you for any comments and help..Siri does not exist on the iPhone 4, only the iPhone 4S and later have Siri.
I used the Chat feature in the Contact Us section of the Apple website to try and get some support direct from Apple.
I discussed the lack of menu options, and provided screenshots. The response came back that it was, and I quote, "super strange" for this to be happening. Yet there are plenty of people reporting this problem on this forum.
The support person took me through a hard reboot (power button + home button until it restarts). That did not work, and I was then advised to back up the iPhone with iTunes, and then do a restore.
I did this, it downloaded about 1.2GB of data which I presume was a full, new image of iOS 7.1 (as opposed to the 'upgrade' that had been applied before), and proceeded to load it onto the device.
The issue still persists, attached are screenshots of my Settings > Passcode menu. -
I cannot get my iphone 4 unlock its got a "iphone not activated contact your carrier if this problem continues to occur" cant even use phone for alarm clock.

"Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable."
"The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported"

Resolution
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.
Additional Information
If you are asked to enter a password to proceed with activating the iPhone, Activation Lock may be enabled as part of Find my iPhone. -

You cannot replace just the chip. If all of the various solutions suggested in Apple's support documents and here in these forums do not help, you will need to 1) take or send your iPhone to Apple for replacement, 2) pay to have an unauthorized third-party shop attempt repairs, or 3) attempt repairs yourself. The latter two options will void any further support from Apple.

IPhone 4 unable to turn on Facetime setting
iPhone 4 plugged into iTunes and upgraded from a 3G. Even though I have friends with Facetime, I cannot make a Facetime call. Discussion boards ask users to go to Settings -> Phone -> Facetime (on/off). I do not have this option in my settings.
Wiped and restored phone again....no luck. HELP!Found my own solution on appletoolbox discussion board...
1. Navigate to Settings > General >Restrictions and select “Enable Restrictions”
2. Set the FaceTime restriction to on
3. Select “Disable Restrictions”
4. Go to Settings > Phone, and you should now see a FaceTime option, which you can turn on.
This worked! Facetime setting appeared in Settings -> General -> Phone.
Facetime turned on and functioning. -

I replaced the computer I originally used to synch my iPhone. When trying to update to iOS5.0, I get the message stating that my content will be erased, even though this is the computer I now synch my phone with. Is there a way to make the update recognize the new computer so that my content will be kept?
The best option is to copy your entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527. This will allow iTunes on your new computer to recognize and sync with your phone without deleting content. You will also need to copy over any other synced data not in your iTunes library such as photos synced to your phone, calendars and contacts.

I can not manage music on an additional device. Thephone has music from my library on it. But when I connect the phone to my computer it shows there is nothing on the phone. When I gry to add a song, I get an error message that says can not be copied to IPhone Helen(name of the phone) because it can not be found, even though it shows on the coputer

I popped in the London apple store but they asked me a fortune to repaired which quite frankly its probably not worthy.

SYou can also check on Apples site to see if your iPhone 5 qualifies for the power button replacement program. You put your serial number in, and it will tell you if that particular phone is eligible for a FREE button replacement. So that would be better than taking it to some dodgy backstreet phone repairer. I know, as mines in at the minute getting replaced, and as a bonus, they will swap your battery too at the same time. so according to the invoice I'm getting a new power button and battery for nowt. Not bad customer support for a 3 year old phone is it? Amazing actually springs to mind.
And as a bonus, they will loan you a phone to be going on with, as it takes about 5 days to do the repair. -

Open Directory Printers still showing up even though Print services is off

Long time ago, back when Panther was king, we setup Print services on our Panther servers. It often jammed and now we turned off the Print service and deleted all the queues. But now, when adding printers to our client laptops running Leopard, the open directory printers are showing up under the Default icon and people are being misled to add these printers. Is there a way to remove these "ghost" printers?

iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.2) My wife and I were able to log into iCloud when we bought and activated the phones. In the last 2 days, we have not been able to do so. Have reset the password 3 times. Can get into iTunes and iCloud via MacBook Pro. Every attempt to log in via iPhone we get a message saying the password is incorrect. I noticed someone else had a similar problem about 1 hour ago. Apple support's answer did not fix the problem for them.

OS X 10.9.2 Guest User Account keeps showing up even though it is listed as 'off' in Users & Groups
Hi all,
This problem just happened these last 2 days, and I believe it started after the itunes 11.2 and camera raw 11.2 update on 16 May 2014.
The "guest user" login keeps appearing in the Login screen, i've checked the status of it in my 'System Preference / User & Groups' in 2 Admin accounts, both lists it as 'off'.
I've tried enabling it, restarting, disabling it and restarting my macbook pro, but the guest user account just stays on the login screen.

Nope, Find My Mac is not activated under my iCloud settings. Checked both Admin accounts, both are unchecked.
I did see this article before, but some of the steps, specifically the one in System Preferences / Security & Privcy / General is not applicable for OS Mavericks.

My iPhone keeps telling me I don't have enough space to update my software. But I just bought 15GB of storage, of which 11.7GB is free! So I don't understand. Can anybody please help me? I'm really bad with technology so I don't have a clue.
Hi Caroline,
The storage issue you are having is not related to iCloud. The error is telling you that you do not have enough room on your device itself. You need to go to Settings>General>Usage, and under the Storage section at the top, it lists all of your apps and other things taking up room on your device.
You will have to delete or reduce the size of items on this list in order to free up some room for your update.
Also, you may want to try the update by hooking up your device to iTunes on the computer you sync with. It does not require as much free memory to update via iTunes as it does OTA.
