Iphone 4s using ios 7.0.4 questions (mainly for Apple)
It is apparent that ios 7.0.4 disabled the ability to take screenshots on the iphone and the same key combination (home + on/off) now brings up voice control. The voice control feature should have a disable option, but there is none. The screenshot feature is a great way to show developers errors in their apps and to provide the best feedback (pictures do say a 1,000 words). Will ios 7.0.5 correct this and when will it be out?

With that said, the screen shot feature is stil there in iOS 7 it has not been removed.
Voice control (SIRI) is brought up by pressing and holding down on the Home button alone.
To take a screenshot you need only to press the power and home buttons and release them. Don't hold them down.
To make it easier you can press and hold the power/sleep button and then just tap the home button once to take a screenshot.

I noticed that Find My iPhone on iCloud hasn't worked since iOS 8 came out. Whenever I try to use it, it always says "All Devices Offline." This is regardless of whether I am in a good Wi-Fi zone or not. I like to use Find My iPhone to remotely track my battery charging status whenever my phone is charging in a different room. That's been really handy, which is why I really need to get this fixed. No matter what computer I use, the problem is always the same.
My device uses iOS 7. My question is: do I need to upgrade my device? If not, what should I do? I do not wish to upgrade my device, especially considering the bad things I've heard about iOS 8.
Feedback would be welcome ASAP.You don't need to update to iOS 8 to use Find My iPhone. If you haven't already tried, go to Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone and turn it off, then reset your phone (hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release). After it restarts, turn Find My iPhone back on and see if it works properly now.

I have an iPhone 4 using iOS 7.1.2. On my home screen at the email icon in red it shows I have 11,193 emails to be read. I have no mail in Inbox, Drafts, Sent, or Trash. Where did this come from and how do I get rid of it. The number is printed in read on top of the blue and white emaiI icon. I contacted my cable company and through their website I can check my email. In doing this it showed I had 25 unread emails. Also, my iPad 2 is receiving emails fine. So the problem is with the iPhone 4. What can I do to get rid of the number and make my mail operational?

I would start with taking a look at the settings to make sure that you are able to send and receive messages. If everything looks good then the next step would be to remove the accounts and add them back in. My father in law has a brand new iPhone 5s using iOS 8.1.1 - under settings, general, keyboard, all keyboards... There is no option for 'predictive'. Has anyone else had this? And if so, how can we make it appear? Many thanks!

My iPhone 4 using iOS 6 is creating multiple copies of random voicemail messages. How can I correct this I am deleting up to 10 - 15 duplicate voicemail messages daily.
Had the same problem... talked to a Genius and he contacted Verizon Wireless (my carrier). Turns out the problem is Verizon's. Contact Support and tell them you'd like your VoiceMail RESET (you will lose all your current voicemails). Should correct the problem.

I have an Iphone 4 using ios 4.2.6 and need to upgrade to at least ios 4.3 or better yet ios 5. I have never received any update notices. I understand upgrades are through Itunes but when I go to Itunes downloads there is nothing there. Help!

My iPhone 5s on ios 8.1.2 is stuck at Apple logo or recovery mode.. To fix this issue, i need to update it to ios 8.2 through itunes.. I want to ask that my data i.e. Photos and other personal data would be removed after updating it or not..?
if yes then how can i save my data or get out of recovery mode.. Is there any safe mode or something like that on which i could access my data..
P.S. I have not taken any backup of my iPhone on itunes..
Please help me sort out this issue..Recovery mode doesn't mean that all your data is already lost. You only lose your data if you restore it.
When you plug the phone is into iTunes hold down the home button. iTunes may then give you the option JUST to update the software first. This should not get rid of any data.
However, if iTunes is only giving you the option to RESTORE and update, then you will lose your data I'm afraid.

If it is second hand, try putting it in recovery mode, and restoring it with itunes on a mac or pc.

Third Party Apps Not Opening on iPhone 5 using iOS 6.0.2
I have an iPhone 5 and am using iOS 6.0.2 and recently certain third party apps like Facebook, Instagram, Shazzam for instance, no longer open. When I tap on the app, the app comes up on the screen for about a second, and then closes. What's strange is that I've been using iOS 6.0.2 and have also been using the most updated versions of the apps without any issues. The crashing started happening around last Friday. Here's what I've tried to do to fix the problem so far but none of these options have worked:
- I restarted my phone by holding down the home button and the lock button.
- I turned my phone off and turned it on again.
- I deleted the apps and reinstalled them and then restarted my phone.
- I downloaded a random free app, opened it, and then tried opening the apps that kept crashing.
- I restored my phone and synced it using the most recent back up I had, which was from earlier that day.
I did find a temporary solution, that allows the apps to open but I think it's because the apps are not the most recent versions.
- I restored my phone and set it up as a new phone. The phone then downloaded all of the apps again and re-synced everything. The apps did open after that however, when I went to the app store, it said that I had 24 available updates. I updated all of the apps to their most up to date versions and then noticed that they once again stopped opening and would crash almost immediately after launching them.
- I then restored my phone again and set it up as a new phone and did not update the 24 apps and all but one of them work. The only app that I've noticed that still doesn't work is the Blackboard Eats app. It still crashes almost immediately after launching it.
I took my phone to the Genius Bar this weekend (which is where I was told to restore the phone and set it up as a new phone). I'm thinking that the issue is purely a software issue, but is there any chance that it could be a hardware issue?
I suppose I could just not update the apps, but I'm hoping there's a better solution than that. What's weird is that the phone was working with iOS 6.0.2 and all of the most up to date versions of the apps less than a week ago and it seems that somehow, overnight, they stopped working.
Is anyone else running into this problem? Has anyone found a solution?

KevinThe music player does not remember where the last session ended. I have about 1000 songs on my iPhone. I play the songs in the Shuffle mode - and it worked fine on iOS 5.x. Ever since I updated to iOS 6.0, the shuffle seems to be seriously broken. It repeats the song sequence of previous session in the exact order instead of starting from where the session ended. God forbid if your last session was 10-25 songs long - you'll have to hit the Next song so many times to listen to something that you have not heard for a while.

Why have duplicate photos begun to show up in collections on my iPhone 4s using iOS 7
Recently (since I installed OS X Mavericks on my computer, I think) Photos on my iPhone 4s running the latest iOS 7 has been showing duplicate photos in Photos/Collections/Moments, especially for photos taken a month or more ago. Does anyone no why? Is it a bug in some program? I have not had duplicates before (I use the correct settings when sync'ing to avoid duplicates).
I have the same problem with my iPad mini retina and my iPhone 5 probably since iCloud and am using iOS 8.1
a. I will get a series of duplicate photos on a device. I have not identified the event that causes this.
b. I can select to delete one of the duplicates - but not the other - if selected the trash can won't illuminate - so that's a clue that I don't know what to do with.
c. I would gladly delete the one offered but then I get the message " These photos will also be deleted from Photo Stream on all your devices"
d. YIKES what next? I choose not to delete because I don't know if I am going to somehow delete, well, everyone of them.

Sounds on iPhone 4 using iOS 5.0.1
Ever since upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 I have noticed that the tone to indicate an incoming message seems to change from what I have set. I set it for Tri-tone or Calypso ( I have tried both), yet it often makes the swoosh sound instead. This is hard for me to hear and I often miss messages. If I go back in to settings and change it back to Calypso, then it will stay for a few messages, but then reverts back to swoosh. Sometimes my settings will stay until I shut down the phone, but other times it just changes without the shut down. Anyone else having this same problem? Anyone know how to fix this?

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 and now my camera button, within the text app, is grey'd out, and the only way I can send MMS is through iMessage. Any thoughts or suggestions?
