IPhone 4S WiFi disabled after reboot!

Hi All,
I have a iPhone 4S and it was working perfectly until recently I had to reboot for iOS 6.1.3. After the reboot I notice that the WiFi on the phone is disabled!! Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Thanks
Bala

I have the same problem I upgraded to iOS 6.1.1 n the wifi button is not turned on its idle n grey. There is no response in the button..the other problem is it gets too hot like an iron rod heated in fire..the battery drains overnight even it's not used n all locations, notifications turned off. Fix the problem dude, ur apple is rotting from within.

    Please help me.

Have you tried pressing the round button and the on/off switch at the top at the same time and holding them till an Apple icon appears?  If that doesn';t work, take it back, you are still under warranty.

My iphone 4s is disabled (connect to itunes) and i am not sure if i have a recent back up of it and i dont want to restore cus i will lose alot of my stuff so can i wait until the next ios update [ios 7] (sept 20) and if i do will i be able to access my phone without having to restore?
You can backup to a Mac or PC via iTunes. Just make sure your iTunes Preferences/Devices is checked so it will NOT AUTOMATICALLY backup/sync when a device is connected. Click on your iPhone and Back it up. This will preserve your iPhones "current" content and settings.
I hope a larger display is in the works.

  • Fix for my iPhone 3Gs WiFi problems after upgrade to iOS 4

Posting incase this helps. I upgraded to iOS 4 on my 3Gs while away from home and came home to find that I couldn't get a reliable connection to my home WiFi which had been rock solid when I left two weeks ago.
My network consistes of a telco supplied router & ADSL box connected by LAN to an Airport Extreme which then connects wirelessly to an Airport Time Machine in another room (actually a steel lined safe room so I have to be sure that the door is open). The Time Machine is set to act as a range extender as is an Airpot Express N I have connected to a hifi.
Well after rebooting everything and scratching my head I took a look at the wireless settings on the base Airport Extreme. *It was set to 802.11n only!* I, therefore, have no idea how my iPhone was able to connect to this up to now. *I've set it now to 802.11n (b/g compatible)* and the iPhone once again connects and re-connects without any trouble at all.
I know the 3Gs is not capable of 802.11n but I can assure you that for the last few months I haven't changed that router so it was certainly working in that 802.11n only mode on that apple router.

Hey, that's a great tip for others who are having issues to check out. Thanks for posting your findings!

  • Iphone battery draining fast after reboot

hi, my iphone battery drains completely from 100% to 0% in a few hours if I switch the phone off and turn back on. i recently found this out once after I switched off the phone.....But there is no problem (battery can last 1~2 days for normal use)if i do NOT switch off after recharge.
Is this a software issue or hardware?? Has anyone got the same problem? Thank you so much.

A couple more diagnostic tidbits.....my iPhone exhibited odd behavior after downloading the Star Gazer app from the App Store on Sunday. I activated the "arrange icon" feature to move the app icon for Star Gazer to a new position on my iPhone and after I moved it the icon for the app next to it (Weather Channel App) was absent but the label was present. When I slid my app screen back to the home screen and came back, the Weather Channel App icon was visible and the Star Gazer app was now absent but the label was present. I've also had some odd flashes of the home screen after unlocking my phone (I have it secured with a PIN to protect my data). Is this and IOS 4.1 issue?
It is not an iOS 4 issue; it is a very rare problem, and has occurred with all versions. But if you search you will see reports are in the dozens, with 100 million phones in use that's a vanishingly small number. It usually means that memory in the phone is corrupted. If rebooting the phone doesn't fix it you should restore the phone using iTunes.

  • WLC 5508 - WLANs disabled after reboot

    Hi,
    I'm running 3 WLC 5508, 2 of them running image AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-116-0.aes, one AIR-CT5500-LDPE-K9-7-0-116-0.aes.
On the 5508 running the LDPE-image, I have 9 WLANs (170,171,180,181,190,191,281,282,283), all defined with admin status "ENABLED".
    WLANs 180,181,281 belong to a defined AP-group, WLAN 190,191,282 belong to a different AP-group.
WLANs 180,181,190,191 are defined as H-REAP. The H-REAP APs registers without any problems at the backup WLC and switches back successfully to the primary controller after recovering from reboot.
Unfortunately the WLANs 180,181,190,191 show status "DISABLED" every time the primary controller comes back and I have to enable them manually.
Doing exactly the same procedure with one of the other WLC, running AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-116-0, I never face this problem.
Has anyone faced something similar ? Any hints or tipps are very much appreciated

I would like to pick up the discussion again. I had to upgrade the 2 WLC's involved in the scenarion and the WLANs are staying enabled. The APs are registering in a perfect time at the secondary 5508 and so do the clients.
After the primary 5508 comes back the LWAPPs are registering back to that WLC seemless and so do the clients but sometimes (not always) not without loosing the connections for about 15 secs, which is unacceptable since the applications will drop.
We also get the following error-msg:
*Sep 12 13:39:05.598: %AAA-3-BADSERVERTYPEERROR: Cannot process authentication server type radius (UNKNOWN)
    *Sep 12 13:39:05.598: %DOT11-7-AUTH_FAILED: Station 0026.c730.88ae Authentication failed

  • Samaba sharing is disabled after reboot, with incorrect share config

    Hi all,
I bought my macbook pro with OS X 10.4. Ever since I've upgraded, I'm unable to get my samba server to work correctly. I have a Cent OS server running samba, and all my other clients can connect to it, so I know its not an issue with the Windows clients. I would like to share my Movies folder so my wife can watch videos I download. Some are in iTunes, some are Divx. I've done the following.
    1. Go to System Preferences -> Sharing
    2. Under "shared folders", I click the plus and add the directory "Movies"
    3. I set my account to "read only" and "everyone" to "read only"
    4. Go to System Preferences -> Accounts
    5. Select Guest Account and check "Allow guests to connect to shared folders". I leave guest login disabled.
    6. Reboot
With the above steps, I expect that the only share listed would be "Movies" and that I can access it with an anonymous samba client. However, I randomly get folders I'm not expecting. For instance, this is how I tested my setup.
    1. On a windows computer I telent to the correct samba ports. "telnet 10.10.1.101 139" and "telnet 10.10.1.101 445". Both connect to the socket, so I'm ok at the firewall level.
    2. Test what shares are listed with "smbclient" on my mac. I enter "smbclient -L 10.10.1.101" in the command prompt. When prompted for a password, I just press enter. I get the following output.
    $ smbclient -L 10.10.1.101
    Password:
    Anonymous login successful
    Domain=[NINE] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.25b-apple]
    Sharename Type Comment
IPC$ IPC IPC Service (TODD NINE’s Computer)
todd nine's public folder Disk TODD NINE's Public Folder
    Anonymous login successful
    Domain=[NINE] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.25b-apple]
    Server Comment
    MACINTOSH-3 TODD NINE
    Workgroup Master
    NINE
Definitely not what I've configured via the gui! Also, whenever I reboot and go into the sharing gui the "Share files and folders using SMB" is always unchecked. It would seem that my settings are hosed and the gui isn't correctly persisting my settings and restarting the Daemons. I'm not sure which plist files to delete to start with fresh settings, and I'm reluctant to start blasting critical system files without being sure of what I'm doing. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I've already followed a couple of how to's that worked for most people, but they didn't resolve my issues.
    Thanks,
    Todd

Presumably related to this problem is that if I try to restart the svc it gets disabled.
For example (while tailing /var/svc/log/site-bind9:default.log in background):
    bash-3.00# svcs bind9
    STATE STIME FMRI
    online 3:37:45 svc:/site/bind9:default
    bash-3.00# svcadm restart bind9

    [ Apr 17 03:38:07 Executing stop method ("/opt/bind/var/svc/method/bind9 stop") ]
    [ Apr 17 03:38:07 Method "stop" exited with status 0 ]
    [ Apr 17 03:38:07 Disabled. ]
    bash-3.00# svcs bind9
    STATE STIME FMRI
    disabled 3:38:07 svc:/site/bind9:default
Any ideas what is wrong with this svc (manifest posted above) ?

  • Screensaver Password Disabled After Reboots

    Hi,
I seem to have a problem with 10.5 (and previously with 10.4) where the Security Option "Require password to wake from screensaver or sleep" gets reset after a reboot or a period of time.
I saw a posting suggesting it might have something to do with the User I am logged in as being an Administrator, so I disabled that - but I still have the problem.
Is there any way to "purge" the settings in a hope that the system will right itself ? It's getting very annnoying to go to Preferences -> Security to check this setting, and I can't lock it as Administrator either.
    Thanks
    Andrew

I was having the same problem.
I turned all the settings off and turned them on again and it seemed to fix it for now. Suspect though it will re-occur. Sorry that there was nothing more scientific than that!

  • IPhone 6 is disabled after I finish a call

I just updated an iPhone 6 to iOS 8.2 this morning and now every time I finish a call it gets disabled and asks me to wait x amount of minutes. I believe it is a bug, how can I report it to Apple?
    Thanks.
    Oscar.

To make sure that this is software related and not caused by damaged data from the backup, set the device back to factory settings, without using the backup, explained here:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
Add the reset of the settings manually and see if the issue is still there. If yes, use this link to contact Apple: Apple - iPhone - Feedback

  • IPhone 3G WiFi problems after 2.2 update

I know that this has been raised already, but I just wanted to throw some more wood on the fire.
I have several machines wirelessly connected to my router, and all work fine. iPhone WiFi worked every time before update to 2.2, no longer does.
I have done all of the suggested "fixes": power on/off, forget network, reset network settings. They don't work.
What's strange is that the iPhone connects to the network--but it only has 2 bars, even when I'm right beside the router! And even when it's "connected", I can't browse the net through Safari or use any other programs that require internet access.
Connections to other WiFi networks do the same.

Sorry, I missed your last sentence in your original post.
I wouldn't wait until firmware 2.3 is released. I've had no problems connecting my iPhone to my wireless network at home, the wireless network at my office, or the wireless networks that I regularly access at a couple of restaurants that I frequent, and the same with an AT&T wireless network at a Starbucks that I stop by on occasion since installing 2.2.
    Copied from my previous post:
+Have you also tried an iPhone reset and/or restoring your iPhone with iTunes - from your iPhone's backup and if no change, as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup?+
+If so, I suggest giving AppleCare a call at (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.+
I'd just like to make sure that Apple is aware of the issue.
Providing it here does not ensure this. Although these discussions are provided and moderated by Apple, each post and thread here is not read by a moderator or by any Apple employee.
Calling AppleCare ensures that Apple is aware of your particular issue, and if a reset and/or a restore from your iPhone's backup and as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup does not change anything, then your iPhone may have a hardware issue that 2.2 brought to the surface and if so, your iPhone will be exchanged under warranty.
No point in waiting for a future firmware update with no way of knowing exactly when the next firmware update will be released, nor if it will resolve your problem especially if this turns out to be a hardware issue.
