Today apparently I accidentally left a group chat I was in with some of my friend. I noticed when I got home and asked one of my friends to add me back which they did. But I'm not getting any of the messages I don't understand what's happening. Can anybody help me?

First, create a backup of your 4S, using iTunes will be quicker than using iCloud. Then, update your 6 to iOS 8.1.3, then erase it: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. At the setup screen, choose to restore from your 4S backup.

I was getting this even on iOS 4.0, but under this OS, I can restart the phone, and in some cases, this problem goes away.
However, under iOS 5, it simply wouldn't go to LANDSCAPE. Photos is not a worry, since I can just rotate this, but videos is now stuck on Portrait!
Again, the PORTRAIT ORIENTATION SETTING is NOT LOCKED! But it still wouldn't go to Landscape.
Is this some sort of a "gyroscope" problem??

Sorry, but you are mistaken about both observations.
You CAN DEFINITELY take photos in Landscape and you CAN DEFINITELY watch YouTube videos in PORTRAIT (just tried it now using my sister's working iPhone).
Also, my CALCULATOR does not go to LANDSCAPE (i.e. from normal to Scientific) automatically.
So I still think it could be a gyroscope problem...but I'm not 100% sure.

Hi everyone,
I updated my iphone 4s to ios 6 a few months ago and there was no problem until I change my sim card to other carriers last two days. This second sim card is the same sim card that I used it earlier this year with no problem. But the problem I face is when my iphone goes to sleep mode I realised that I can't receive any push notification from imessage, Whatsapp, and Line. When the phone is awake the wifi signal is back and I have to go to each application in order to get the message. I have tried the following methods but it didn't work: reset all network settings, restore as new iphone, push home and power button together, switch off my iphone, turn on airplane mode, and even change my router. At the moment I have restored my iphone as new for the 5th times.
Now the problem is worsen, after the phone is sleep for about 5 minutes and when I awake my iphone it shows the wifi signal. But I can't access to the internet at all. It shows no working internet on Whatsapp. Safari can't load any web page, the weather app can't update temperature etc. I have to switch off and switch on wifi in setting menu so that I can use the internet. And when I leave my iphone four about 5 - 10 minuetes then the problem start again. While I can't access to the internet on my iphone 4s, I used my dad's iphone 4s with ios 5.0.1 and it works just fine with the internet. My laptop can also access to the internet with the same wifi network but not my iphone.
Does anybody know what's going on with my iphone 4s? Is it the bug from IOS 6 or my iphone is broken? Please help me.

Any update will cause problems for a few users. And those users will rush here and post "the sky is falling" stories about their experience. The 99.99% of people who have no problems after an update won't bother to post here; indeed, most of them don't even know ASC exists. FWIW, I had no problems with iOS 7 on my 4S. Your problem is most likely not related to iOS 6, but you should probably update anyway. Is it possible to restore an iPhone 4s with iOS 7 from a backup of an iPhone 3GS that uses iOS 6?

So for Christmas I am upgrading to a new iPhone and so therefore I am giving my iPhone 4s to my younger brother. He currently uses an iPhone 3GS with iOS 6 installed. I currently have iOS 7 installed on the iPhone 4s but am considering upgrading to iOS 8.1.1. I was wondering if it is possible to when restoring my iPhone 4s to then set it up from the back up of the iPhone 3GS that runs iOS 6, when they run on different operating system updates. Will it work when the iPhone 4s is running iOS 7 or iOS 8, or both, or neither?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Voice quality problems on iPhone 5s with IOS 7.02 on Verizon.I

I have a brand new iPhone 5s with IOS 7.02 on Verizon. Everything works great except when on talk on the phone the normal way. When I do that, people tell me they can hardly hear me. But, when I put them on the speaker phone, they can hear me very well. Also, Voice Memos, and SIri all work just fine. It is only when I talk on the phone the normal way (without the speakerphone on) that the voice quality I am transmitting is very low. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks very much.

Apple helped me solve this problem. They gave me a brand new iPhone 5s. The were just great in their support. It appears that my first iPhone 5s had a faulty "audio chip." This is the chip that changes the frequency of your voice as you talk into the microphone; Apple explained that it is one frequency when talking on the phone, and another where using the speakerphone, and another when using Siri, and another when using voice memos, etc. You use the same 2 microphones for all of these applications (one at the bottom of the phone, and one my the camera lens), but the "audio chip" adjusts the freqency based on the applicaiton you are using. So, on my first iPhone 5s, my "audio chip" was defective, so they gave me a new iPhone 5s, and it has been working just fine. I had the most current IOS operating system on the original iPhone 5s with the faulty "audio chip," and on my new iPhone 5s which works great. Hope this helps. The technicians at Apple Customer Care and at the Apple Store are very aware of this problem with potentially defective "audio chips" in some of the iPhone 5s's. Cheers, Clarence from Cleveland.

Could you not restore the device to an earlier version?
No, you cannot downgrade your iOS device.
That may mean jailbreaking, I'm not sure.
Jailbreaking is not supported by Apple or this forum.
Or what about replacing the motherboard?
There are no user serviceable parts on an iPhone.
