IPhone 4S with IOS8 with re-activation issue.

I've restored and loaded 4S with IOS8. When I try to reactivate it, I'm told that the AppleID my iPhone is linked to isn't the one that was used to set it up. I also tried my backup email, in case I used that as an AppleID. That doesn't work either. Anybody?

Based on your description (unable to activate your iPhone with your current Apple ID after upgrading to iOS 8), it sounds like you may be having issues with the Activation Lock function of Find My iPhone. You may find the information listed in the following article helpful:

iMessage works by linking your Apple ID with your phone number
When you send and receive messages to and from other iPhone users who’ve also got iMessage activated, they’re sent and delivered over the internet as iMessages rather than as SMS

If you’ve got access to your iPhone
Ensure your phone is connected to the internet (3G or Wi-Fi) so that the changes will sync with your Apple ID.
Go into ‘Settings’.
Tap ‘Messages’.
For ‘iMessage’, move the slider to ‘Off’.
If you don’t have access to your iPhone
Go to supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do.
Log in with your Apple ID and password.
Select the product you need to de-register (your iPhone, for example).

It can't be restored unless the thief knows your Apple ID and password.

You guys must DISABLE your SIM PIN!
I know this is not the best thing to do, but until Apple fixes this, this is the only solution right now!

Truth of the matter is ATT was not ready for this. I was ready to turn in my 3G
and go back to my old iPhone when a tech rep at Apple told me to turn off
3G. I went from full bars at home to only one when 3G was on and all of my
calls were getting dropped. After the rep told me this I replied, "excuse me?
You mean the reason I bought the new iPhone, so I can talk and email at the
same time on the 3G network, is not even doable yet?" He replied that they've
been telling customers to turn off the 3G and then the phone would work fine -
which it did. Now I just keep it on the edge network and hope that one day the
3G network will be up to speed and I live in LA! So give it a shot and turn off 3G.

How can I reset an iPhone 5s with an active iCloud account?

Hi Team, I work for a mobile company. I have an iPhone 5s that was returned by a client, which an employee didn't do a full wipe on the time of return. We are trying to resell the phone as an open item. We have tried to reset and restore the phone through the settings but it asks for the password for the apple id which we don't have since the customer is no longer in the store. I have tried different things, I did a normal hard reset by holding the sleep and home button and connecting to iTunes, which it does restore yet but doesn't wipe out the apple id. We still get the apple id on the iPhone 5 due to the find me app that protects your phone from theft. Is there any way to do a hard reset on the iPhone 5 with iOS 8 and do a full wipe without apple id password?

Apple has a procedure that authorized resellers can use to reset Activation Lock. It requires completing a web form, getting management approvals, and submitting it to Apple. Contact your Apple liaison manager.

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

A few Days ago I had this problem on my own device (iPhone6, IOS8.3)
I was Reading emails on my way to work.
When I got to work and started the computer ONE of the emails was marked unread in Outlook.
On the device it was marked as "read".
One thing that I remember is that I had bad Connection at the time I was syncing emails and I got
the popup message: "Can not get emails - Connection to server failed" (my translation from Swedish)
I have a feeling that the error message and the problem with unread emails are connected somehow.
Also, when I turn off the email account for my iPhone (to remove all emails) and turn it back on (reload all emails)
the mail that was set as "read" is now "unread" again on my iPhone.
This means (speculatinos) that sometimes the device mark emails as "read" but for some reason it does not
tell the server that it is "read". So the server still Thinks that the email is "unread".

Since yesterday morning I have been facing with an activation issue. I have been using the same Master Collection CS 5.5 for more than 1 year now and yesterday I had an error that I have never saw before.

I have checked my hosts file under the system and it is clean. I am also able to connect to all adobe servers. So I can assure you that my connection settings are perfectly working.
When I install Master Collection CS 5.5 it is only working with Photoshop now. However, if I attempt to open any other one like Illustrator, the activation screen coming up.
Yesterday, I had a conversation with Customer Service here in Chat again. They have mentioned about using multiple accounts might cause this problem. They have canceled one of the accounts and said this issue will be solved within 24hr. So it is almost 24hr and the second day of my working business that I cannot use the prior software to run my business.
Can you please check out the same issue repeated on someone else's case. So you guys can save time to help me.

The host file is one possible cause but software firewalls can also be another. There are also other solutions available within the referenced document.

If you don't have a SIM card in the phone, you must put one in. It's required for activation.
If you do, then your phone was probably hacked to unlock it from the original carrier. Contact them and see if they will unlock it. If they will not do so, then you can't use that phone.

Calendar sync issue on iPhone 4 with iOS 8.1.2

Just updated my iPhone 4 with iOS 8.1.2, some of my calendar entries like birthday entries which I marked as an all day event for so many years are not getting updated on my iPhone 4 where my iPad mini with iOS 8.1.2 is showing the missing data. Can anyone help on this issue?

I see that you may be having an issue with the birthday calendars on your iPhone. First, make sure that your birthday calendar is activated on all of the devices that you wish to see it on:

View the Birthdays calendar. Tap Calendars, then tap Birthdays to include birthdays from Contacts with your events. If you’ve set up a Facebook account, you can also include your Facebook friends’ birthdays.

Guess I understand what is going on as I'm also experiencing the problem.
Basically the issue is about the iPhone 4's personal hotspot.
I'm trying to hook on personal hotspot to my toshiba laptop but it couldnt work as the connection is limited to local only without Internet access.
The hotspot works well on other laptop and I-devices, but not my toshiba...

Resolution
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to Wi-Fi if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Applefor assistance.

There may be a couple of different things I would suggest here. The first thing I would do would be to check and make sure the orientation lock is off.
iOS: Screen does not rotate
If the lock is off and the issue continues, I would recommend restarting your device. If the issue continues after the restart, reset the device.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

Error message: itunes-restore phone to factory default on iphone 3 "we're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time".

Attempting to restore Iphone 3 to factory deafalut, to finish "unlocking" the Iphone 5.
Moving the phone from one cellular carrier to another (in this case Rogers to Bell in Canada).
Rogers "unlocked" the phone on their end for $50.00, sent an email to Apple requesting serial # to be released from their network, and to provide "unlocked" status.
Next step was to restore phone to "factory default" in I tunes, and wait for phone to reset and show "unlocked" status.
Upon phone resetting in Itunes, after the "factory default", received the following error message"
"we are sorry, we are unable to unable to continue with activation at this time Please try again, or contact customer service".
I contacted Apple customer service whom confirmed that the phone is showing as "unlocked" in their system.
New carrier that I am attempting to hook phone up states that the phone is still locked.
What is the solution or workaround?
