IPhone 4s won't connect to Wifi or my Macbook Air

I have an iPhone 4s (iOS 7.1 software, phone says it is up-to-date) and it is not recognized by my Macbook Air (OS X version 10.9.2, computer says it is also up-to-date). I switched computers in January, from a Macbook Pro to a Macbook Air, but did not transfer any iTunes information onto the Macbook Air from the Pro. I've avoided connecting my phone to iTunes on the Air because I would lose my music on my phone (which I have backed up on the Pro). I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem, figured it was worth mentioning. My iPhone also stopped connecting to Wifi (it is greyed out), causing me to use a lot of data. How do I fix these two issues?

at this very moment, all of apple's servers are a little over loaded, so i wouldn't be surorised if you have trouble baking up to iclou right now. with that being said, go a head and try restting your network settings under Settings > General >Reset > Reset Network Settings

  • My iPhone 3GS no longer connects through Bluetooth to my MacBook Air, nor my BMW X3.  Is this fixable?

My iPhone 3GS no longer connects through Bluetooth to my MacBook Air nor my BMW X3.   I've made no recent adjustments, it's just stopped functioning.   Any ideas?   Can this be fixed, or is my iPhone on the way out?

Problem solved!! I finally managed to pair the SE HCB-100 car kit speakerphone with the 3GS. I surfed the SE web site and it mentioned resetting the speakerphone. Tried it on 'one color ID' but it didn't work so I did it on all 'color IDs' and left it on reset mode when it 'accidentally' was picked up by my 3GS while searching!!! Found 'headset' and then recognised it as HCB-100. One happy guy for the holidays!!!

  • IPhone 5 won't connect to wifi unless very close to router!

My iPhone 5 won't connect to my home wifi. My other family members have access to the wifi, it's just my iPhone that won't connect. It only connects when I am very close to my router. My iOS is 7.0.6 . The weird part is that I can connect to other wifi's, just not my own. I have tried everything, Turning wifi off and back on, Shutting down my iPhone, Hard rebotting my iPhone, Reset network settings, Reset ALL settings, sycning my iPhone, Unplugging my router, Updating my router, Changing security of wifi. Please help i've been dealing with this for weeks, and its very fustrarating.

have you tried updating the drivers on your modem?

  • IPad won't connect to WiFi network, but macbook pro & iphones will.

Both of my iPhones and my Macbook Pro easily connect to the wi-fi network. I feel like I've tried everything to get my iPad to connect. It used to connect perfectly fine and I'd watch Netflix, but then it started crashing. I work for a non-profit so it's a company network, not my personal one, but it's the only network I have considering I live here! Such a pain!
    I've reset my network settings.
    I've click "Forget Network"
I've done a hard reset of the iPad multiple times.
    NOTHING WORKS.
Can some super tech savvy person help a girl out?! I would greatly appreciate it.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Forgot password.Tried to wipe by using Find my iPhone but won't connect to wifi even though it is turned on in the lock screen. Then tried to restore through iTunes but couldn't because Find my iPad on. Removed the iPad but iTunes still not working. Help!

My daughter stopped using her iPad when she got an iPhone for Christmas.  It has been over one month and she has forgotten her passcode.  I tried to wipe it via Find my iPhone but it won't connect to the wifi even though wifi is switched on on the lock screen.  I then tried to restore it through iTunes but was unable to becuase Find my iPhine was switched on so I removed the iPad from the device list only to find that it didn't solve anything with the iTunes situation and it still won't connect to the wifi. I ahve tried turning wifi on and off, tried leaving the house and re-entering all to no avail. Is there any other way to restore the iPad????

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug (very important)
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note: Data will be lost

  • IPhone 3G won't connect to wifi, it's been connected before but now it won't work, the iTouch connects with no problem, it's just the phone. I've tried resetting it, updating it, and everything and still no luck.

I have a iPhone 3G that is running 3.1 and about 2 days ago, it was fine, connecting to wifi and everything. But now, it won't even find any networks? I've tried going to public places (I.E. McDonald's) and other places that have free wifi, and it can't detect the wifi, Why won't my phone find my home wifi now? I've tried resetting the network settings, I've reset the entire phone, i've done about everything all the other posts talked about. Anyone else got an idea?

I have, yes. I've been shutting it down by holding the sleep/wake key and the home button, aswell. Then I go in and reset network settings and I just get back to it not finding any wifi around. It has the little searching sign, but it just keeps going with nothing showing up.

  • My iphone 4s won't connect to wifi but other people's do

I have a new iphone 4S and it won't connect to the wi fi at our home.  Other people in my family have iphones or nexus and they all will connect.
I enter the password and the wireless symbol appears for a second but then it says unable to connect.
I have no trouble connecting to other wifis in other locations.
Thanks in advance, it is getting very frustrating.!!!

Just had this same problem I went to the apple store today and they told me my wifi card was out and then gave me a new phone but I backed it up and it's not working again so they said one of my apps might have a virus that is interfering with my wifi so it's back to apple again tomorrow They said they will give me another new phone but I will have to set it up as new and will probably lose everything except the contacts that I have backed up so if I were you I would back up your pics and everything else in iCloud

  • Brand New iPhone 6 won't connect to wifi.

So i just got my iphone 6 today and i just got home and it won't connect to my wifi..I have tried turning off wifi networking and rebooting, and I've checked my password multiple times and it keeps saying "Incorrect password for (Wifi Name)"

Reboot your router by removing all power from it for 15-30 seconds. If it still says "incorrect password" then the password is incorrect.

  • IPhone 5 won't connect to wifi since update to iOS7-says incorrect password. It seems to have forgotten the password to two wifi locations I use daily. When I enter the passwords manually, I get message "Incorrect password for ......(network name)"

I reviewed another post on the support community that initally appeared to cover this topic. That question was replied to, and the person was referred to apple support pages that detail how to get one's iphone to link with wifi (turn off device, reboot router, go to iphone settings->wifi->click "i" next to your problem network and select "forget this network").... How do I select "forget this network"- it's not even an option (maybe it would be IF I could get the iPhone to connect to the network, but then I wouldn't need this question answered...)
I have multiple other computers (Macbook Air, iMac 2011, and PCs), as well as new iPad (also recently updated to iOS7) and my wife's iPhone 4S (running iOS6), all of which have no problem connecting to our networks (and no access passwords have been changed). Only my iPhone 5 seems to be left out in the cold. The iPhone 5 "finds" the networks, but will not accept correct access passwords as "correct", therefore cannot actually connect to password-secured wi-fi networks (at least the two I use daily- therefore I assume this problem would follow me elsewhere I might attempt to access a PW-protected network such as WPA/WPA2, etc).
Any ideas where to turn next, or is anyone else having similar problems? Thank you-

    Hi, Troy5.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router can correct the issue that you are experiencing.  However, the issue could be a little more complex.  Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology.  Below, I have included two articles.  The first article will cover basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting regarding iOS device connection.  The second article cover the recommended settings for current Wi-Fi access points.

  • IPhone 4S won't connect to wifi E2500

When I try to connect new iPhone 4S, it goes to the page for all the info (IP address, etc.) instead of just asking for the password input. I've tried disconnecting router and restarting, plugging iPhone into iMac laptop, etc. (PC is hardwired into server and PC laptop, iMac laptop and former iPhone 3 all connected to wifi w/o difficulty.) Went to site of purchase (12/2011) of Lynksys E2500. They suggested might need to download a driver.
Any suggestions on how to locate and install updates to driver for E2500 to allow connection to iPhone 4S?

First of all try connecting the iPhone 4s once again in the following way. Here is the link for the same: http://cydiajb.com/forum/connect-iphone-4-to-wireless-router/.

I have had an iphone 3g for a couple of years now. For the last month it has been unable to connect to any wifi. I have tried everything from restoring it to updating my software. I assume you have rebooted the phone, as that is a basic step.
Go to Settings/General/Reset and tap Reset Network Settings. This may or may not fix it.

  • IPhone 6 Won't Connect to Wifi

I just got the iPhone 6 this morning, and I can't get it to connect a wifi network.  It does not give me any error messages, it just has the spinning wheel.  However, I was able to connect one wifi network, so I am fairly certain it isn't the hardware on the phone.  But, I have tried it on about 5 other networks at my work and I can't get anything.  I have tried some troubleshooting: Turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and then off, reboot the phone, reboot the router(s), reset network settings.  None of these have helped.  Any advice would be appreciated!

My wi-fi signal drops off at least 3 times per night and my router is in the same room as me. I have a Netgear R7000 and i've tested my iPhone 6+ running IOS 8.0.2. I've connected it to both my 5Ghz and 2Ghz networks and they continually drop off. bang went my data allowance when i was using the phone without realising.
We need this sorted - and i have plenty of available ip addresses on my network so this is not the problem. Apple (when i was in the store) changed the network settings in the location services but this lasted one day. Ive continually tried resetting the network settings and re-added them when i'm in range of my known wi-fi networks both at work and home.
Come on Apple this is delaying me from working. (Purchased a Mac Air on Monday and this hasn't dropped off my network once, nor has my wife's 5c and neither has my old 5s....
    help someone...anyone?, is Apple listening?

  • IPhone 5 won't connect to wifi. Already reset network settings and reset the whole phone.

iPhone 5, updated to most recent iOS. Will not connect to wifi at any location, home, work, mall. I have tried resetting the network connections, restarted the phone, even backed it up and completely reset the whole thing. I have to be sitting on top of the router to even get connected, and even then it will disconnect constantly. I used to be able to get full connection even on the other side of the house. Started out of no where, can't even find the network at home to try to connect to. It's not a problem with the routers because no one else is having a problem. It's driving me crazy.

have you tried updating the drivers on your modem?
