IPhone 4S won't discover car blue tooth

just got a new iPhone 4S cuz my last one (also a 4s)
the touch screen malfunctioned. (never had an issue pairing that one with my car)
new phone will NOT find my car blue tooth. any suggestions to trouble shoot or do I once again have to go get a new phone and sit there for an hour waiting to back up from iCloud again?

Are you sure your car is in "discovery" mode, looking for a new Bluetooth device?

What are you trying to do?
The Bluetooth is meant for earplug, headset, keyboard, car hands-free set, and speakers.
You need a 3rd party app to do BT file transfer or other functions between iDevices.

I imagine Keynote Remote uses Audio/Video Remote Control Profile which should be available on both your iPhone and iPad.
I think you're saying that since you got the new iPhone 5, these two things occur:
1. Your iPhone cannot discover your iPad
2. Your iPad cannot discover your iPhone.
If that's true, when you turn on Bluetooth on each of the devices, you might see old devices listed that are no longer used. If you do, I suggest clicking the white arrow to the right of such devices and clicking "Forget this device".

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My iPad will not discover any blue tooth devices. The Bluetooth is turned on but it will only discover a Blackberry phone and not my other iPad or 5s and 4s or a QED receiver.

To connect the devices over bluetooth, just enable Bluetooth in Settings app on both devices.
Bluetooth is activated automatically when Wi-Fi connectivity is not available or does not work properly.
Note: Initial Bluetooth connection takes around 15 seconds to activate.
This is the directions for the app. And all the reviews seem to just go right on through! I have a love hate relationship with my apples!!

I'm working on making my ipad my sole entertanment, navigation and blue tooth calling (for my iphone calling). Ihave every thing but handsfree! Is there any one working on this.

Try to reset network settings (try 2 or 3 times)
Setting>General>Reset>Reset Network Setting
if still not working try to reset All settings
(make sure you have back up your iphone)
Setting>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
try the bluetooth connection before restore from backup, it should be working - if not try reset All settings again.
This worked for me.

When you update or restore the firmware on your iPhone it is necessary to remove old pairing information and pair your BlueAnt device with your iPhone again.

What are you trying to accomplish?
You can only connect your phone to your MAC for tethering only.

It worked fine with mine. Mine also would not connect at first. Then I turned my Icon off, held down the multifuction button, then turned it back on...when it came back on, this finally forced it into pairing mode, and now it works fine. This headset is such an awesome combo with the iPhone 4!

Youtube was removed from iOS so now you are using a 3th party youtube app of which there are many many many some which support Bluetooth and or AirPlay and some which does not try another

Oh my! I can see that becoming pretty annoying, 9ladybug. When it disconnects, do you see any error message? Are you able to successfully connect to any other Bluetooth capable devices? Have you ever been able to remain connected to your car's Bluetooth with the S6?

Car blue tooth caller can't hear me clearly. How can I resolve this?

I have just installed a MEX-N5050BT which is working well except my callers cant hear me clearly. How can I resolve this? I cant find any way of increasing the volume of sound through microphone. Any ideas appreciated.

Here's what you need to do to adjust the volume for the other party (Mic gain adjustment):
-Press MIC (during call).
-Adjustable volume levels: [MIC-LOW], [MIC-MID], [MIC-HI].

Iphone 6 won't work with my Bluetooth in car- Apple needs to admit this is issue and fix it!

Ever since I got my IPhone 6 two weeks ago it has failed to make any type of connection with my GM car Blue Tooth device. I have read the forums on here and attempted all the fixes- none of them worked. Reset just about everything on the phone, reset about everything on the car BT device- no dice. Phone just keeps spinning and saying 'Devices' but never connects to one.
Now here is the kicker, I reached out to Apple Support who told me to 'reset' again. Went ahead and did so even though I told Support I tried this several times, still no dice. Apple Support tells me to go to Apple Store and they will get it to work. Went to the store, shocking that I talked to like 3-4 other people in the store that were also having BT issues with IOS8, on all types of Iphones. The Apple employee had me (guess what) 'reset' everything for like the 100th time since I got the phone, no dice. Here is the kicker, the Apple employee pulled her phone out and went to the BT and she couldn't get a connection to the BT device in the store. Instead of admitting that she too was having issues, she instead quickly closed her BT APP hoping I wouldn't see that she was having issues. Instead she gives me a brand new IPhone and tells me to go home and do all the downloads and it should work. Talk about the all time push off, went ahead and did it and same problem as before. She then tells me if the problem continues to go to GM and tell them to do a firmware update. I was like 'come again', you want me to just drive up to Detroit to GM headquarters and go tell their CEO to do a firmware update. This is super frustrating, my job is on the road, I need BT to work since I live in a state that you have to drive hands free.
I am out of ideas and don't know what to do, I really wish Apple would just come out and put a IOS FIX on this and admit to fact that the BT is an issue. Stuck with this dang phone now, so tired of it and Apple now.

Thank you for responding. Everything was working a short while ago. Apple tv, iPhone 4s and macbook pro on blue tooth and now nothing works. The assistant looks at the network as not there. but, the macbook pro works fine wit the blue printer??
