some time my iphone 4s wont power on / and it's power on just when i connect it in charger or pc cable pleaaase help me

try a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the applee logo and then release, then wait fro the phone to boot back up.

At Apple Store, if you have AppleCare +, replacement iPhone 4S costs $50, if no +, then it will cost $199. Either your battery is faulty, the power management is faulty, or the charging port is faulty, or all three. Start with battery replacement. If still problem, then try charging port with flex cable replacement. If still problem, then it is very complex fix or no fix at all possible.

iphone 4 has black screen. wont power on or charge. tried the hard reboot but fails. its like its totally locked up. is there anything i can do? please help!

Plug it into a power source for at least 30 minutes, then reset it, while still plugged in:
Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you(hopefully) see the Apple logo, then release.

I have an Iphone 4, when i try and boot it up I only get the "Apple" logo for some time then it vanishes,
I can boot it in almost any way and thats all i get. if i plug it into the PC it will show the logo then vanish like i was doing the normal power on or "Home" / "Power button" method, If i plug it into my PC it goes into the recovery mode,
Problem is i have loads of photos which has not been backed up and I would like to get these off before "Restoring" phone, is there any way this is possible?
The issue came up when i tried to update to 8.1, left my PC alone for a while when i came back the phone was not working.
I have left the phone "charging" for a long period of time plugged into the PC and the wall while plugged in the power sign does not appear on the laptop the pc prompts saying would i like to update or restore this, if i click update after about 10 /15 mins the phone reboots itself again (this part happens when i put it into recovery mode) I cannot view the Iphone as another drive

Im pretty sure my iphone does not have water damage because the sensors don't indicate that it does. I woke up this morning and my phone was completely dead. It wont start up, charge, anything. I tried pressing both home & sleep buttons but nothing seems to work. How should I go about recovering my iphone and or making it work?

Why did you suspect that water damage may have caused your problem? If your phone got wet it may have been damaged even though the sensors are not Red.
If your phone did not come in contact with water and it will not come on or charge I would first suspect the charger or cable. Check those by trying different chargers and cables. Keep in mind that if the phones battery is complete drained it may take 15-60 minutes on the charger before it shows any sign of life.
If your charger and cable are verified to be good then obviously the problem lies in your phone. Try a reset of the phone just in case that may help. Apple will ask you to do this anyway before they look at it.
Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If still no joy make an appointment at an Apple Store to have a technician examine your phone.

I have a iphone 4s and it will not power up at all using the On/off button or home screen. It will not power up when connected to a usb port or itunes.
It is completely dead.

Plug it in to a wall socket for several hours. Then try holding the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds. Hopefully you will then see the Apple logo and it will start up.

I tried holding down both buttons like everyone said and this doesnt work. My phone was shipped new from Ontario to Sask and took about a week to get here,Could it be because my battery is so low? And shouldnt it power on when it's plugged in or show a phone charging icon or have some lite on? My laptop won't even discover it when I plug it in. No luck the apple logo appears with what looks like a hairline crack on the apple itself and a very thin blue bar no thicker than a pen stroke its about halfway right behind the apple logo like its going to power on but it doesnt, it just goes black.Then when I hold the 2 buttons down, the home button and the power button at the same time, the apple logo flahes on about every 3or4 seconds as tho its going to turn on but it doesnt, occasionally the bar comes up with the logo but not every time.What can I do? Will it work if I let it charge for a couple hours? Does it need a couple hrs and shud there at least be a charging icon showing me its charging?? I have it hooked up by USB to my laptop charging.My computer and Itunes doesnt even acknowledge its even there. PLEASE HELP? Thanks so much!

Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off.

Iphone 4s wont power on after lcd replacement

A friend dropped his phone quite badly and required a lcd replacement, after swapping it over, when I power it back up it just constantly flickers? Like its trying to power on. There is life in the battery.

my iphone 5 wont power up. i have tried several apple chargers and none will work it wont start. my warranty runs out in 3 days and cant get to a store in time. anyone know the problem and a cheap and easy fix? or if my warranty will over run if i phoned and said it was broke? not dropped or wet just purely broken randomly.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone 5. I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not powering on. I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.

I recently bought an iphone off Ebay, the seller said it was broken and described the problems too me, the phone in my view is fixable. The main problem i have is that the phone wont power on unless it is plugged in on charge. This is where it leads onto my next problem. there are a lot of ways people are describing to restore the phone if it doesnt work. (Hold down power and home, let go of power then it goes into a certain mode which it will let it restore then connect to itunes.) My problem is that to do this i have to be connected to itunes to get it to this stage.
the battery isnt the problem I have been told as the previous owner said they had replaced the battery already to see if that was the problem but it clealy wasnt.
If anyone can help me to restore this phone or tell me if I need to just take it to a repare shop. If there is a simple way of doing it myself and saving about £100 I would love to hear it!!!

I guess that it just had a bad connecting port on the phone itself, no clue why it wouldn't work when plugged in both ways other than there is actually some differentiating between the two sides.
