IPhone 5 850 euros wasted

Bought my iPhone 5 about a month ago. Was very happy with it until updated to 6.1.2. Worst mistake ever. Since I have to charge at list twise a day.
Today I restore it and  all the new pictures don't show up in my photos . I can find them anywhere.
Two days ago my iPad battery died and I wil not even charge. I thing apple made it easy for me
NO MORE IOS.   SAMSUNG FRON NOW ON.

Good bye!!
As for your pictures, if you did a backup of your phone which includes the pictures in your camera roll, you can restore to that backup.
Also you should be importing your pics to your computer as you would a digital camera.
If you fail to do both, then your pics are gone.
As for battery, you can search the forum on fixes, as there are numerous threads already.

  • IPhone 4 blutooth - waste of time!!

What was the point of putting blutooth on the iPhone 4 if all you can do with it is connect to a head set?
Why could this not be the same as 99% of mobile phones whereby you can transfer files, music, photos etc - the Bluetooth on the iPhone is a gimmick not worth having - I wish I had done my homework as I would not have bought the iPhone and gone for a better option.

Turn your brightness to auto. If you just buy this phone. Let the battery totally drain couple of time and fully charge again. It will became great after that.my phone take 2 days to totally drain.awsome. If your location to far away from network transmitter it will became little bit hot at the battery.if you very near to wifi you will feel  your iphone5 it surf like a ferrari + no heat at all. P/n; dont look at pecentage of your battery. Just take note how many hour until its totally drain.

  • Cannot sync music to iPhone 5 and iPad Mini in iTunes 11

As you can see above, I'm having this annoying problem.
At first this issue was just with my iPad Mini, but now it's happening with my iPhone 5.
For some reason, it cannot sync all of my music.  All it's doing is just getting stuck at the last step (either "waiting for changes to be applied" or "waiting for items to copy")
Could someone help me out here?

I'm having the same issue, already for about a month or so, (a bit after the release of iOS 7) on my iPhone 4S.
Always stuck on Waiting for Changes to be Applied.
    I already tried:
    - built a completely new iTunes Library (my previous one was completely manually managed, this one is automatic, a change I had planned to do since a while, but now thought would be good to implement because it may fix my issue... no it didn't).
    - Removed all voice memos from my iPhone.
    - Restored from a iCloud backup. Then syncing again.
    - Updated to Mavericks with iTunes 11.1.2 and iOS 7.0.3.
    - Changed the name of the MediaLibrary.sqlitedb file on the iPhone (trough Phoneview) to have iTunes make a new Library. Still it's stuck on the bigger playlists.
The only thing I didn't do yet, was setting it up as a completely new phone. I am not gonna loose 4 years of text messages because of a bug in the software.
It syncs some playlists, but most of my larger ones it doesn't. I paid 850 euros to have an 64GB iPhone 4S, and now I have to leave it with 3/4 empty space because of Apple. Very frustrating.

  • My iPhone 5S always asks for my iTunes password before i can use my fingerprint

I have set my iPhone 5s up, i use the fingerprint sensor to unlock and dowload apps etc, i have gone in to settings, general, Touch ID & Passcode, Touch ID and selected to use the finger print sensor for iTunes & App Store, i put my password in etc, yet every time i try to download an App i have to input my password again before i can use Touch ID! Why??
Just what is the point of setting it all up, when it is obvious that the Touch ID is not 100% trustworthy, has the password would only need inputting once if it was!
Really not happy with this repetitive cycle, i may has well of stuck with my iPhone 5, than waste my money on a gimmick!!

I would try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple if possible or hold for about 15 seconds then let go. If that does not help, I would restore it through itunes on your computer.

  • If I change my apple id and password on my desktop, will the new id and password be automatically changed in my laptop, my iPad and my iPhone?  If not, is there a safe way to consolidate ids, passwords, etc."

Question: Is there a way to consolidate Apple IDs and passwords on my desktop, laptop, ipod, ipad and iphone?  I waste too much time trying to remember something different for each device or operation.

This knowledge base article is the AppleID Faq...I recently changed my AppleID password, not the ID iteself, and the passward was synced across all devices.
You cannot consolidate AppleIDs so you have to just establish one that will be used for all activities.  And keep in mind, app purchases are tied to the AppleID used for the purchase so updates have to be made using that ID.

  • My own Battery Drain Issues on iPhone 5

Hello guys, I've just created an account here to share my many issues with iPhone 5.
Well, this wasn't my Apple's 1st product, as I've had Ipod touch 2g and 3g, as well as an iPhone 3g. But it's my first time experiencing crazy battery issues with an Apple product, wich is really sad and disappoint, since this is the MOST expensive cell phone in my country (Brazil).
It all started about a week after I bought my iPhone 5. One morning I was on the bus, going to work, and my iPhone had about 99% battery remaining. 1h20 later, when I arrived at work, I had about 80% battery, so I panicked.
Suddenly I realized I was a victim of the common i5 battery drain. I was loosing 1% battery each 3~5 minutes IN STAND BY. And my settings are the same as they've ever been: wi-fi off, 3G off, 4G off (since it's not available in Brazil), brightness on minimum, no weak cell phone coverage etc. So, I shouldn't be experiencing this at all.
After reading lots of threads around the web, I realized that the ONLY solution to this would RESET AND START YOUR IPHONE AS A NEW ONE. No backups, no deleting apps and data. Sometimes removing email accounts would work, but as I didn't use this stuff, restarting my phone seemed to be the solution.
So I did it and, apparently, my problems were solved. My phone has worked perfectly for 2+ months. And then I let it fully discharge - but it's was not the first time it' happened. After I recharged for 4h, I started loosing battery really fast again, so the battery drain have came back. It was so frustrating.
Then I sent my iphone to an authorized reseller and they manage to give me a new replacement phone. They've checked my old i5 and detected a battery issue. My charger and cable were also tested but they were ok.
Well, after the very first charge on my new phone - and I've set it up as a new phone - the battery drain started again. I couldn't believe it.
So now I'm waiting for my 3rd iphone 5 in 3 months...
PS: My original iPhone 5 was bought in the USA, and the replacement one came from Brazil. Both were running iOS 6.1.4 when the issues started.
After all that, here are my conclusions:
    1) In normal conditions, with wi-fi, 3G and LTE off, you should expect your iPhone 5 to waste 1% of battery every 1h30~2h15 on STANDBY. This is based on my best iphone performance and on Apple's information: iPhone 5 should have 225h of battery time (in standby) at it's best. Since 100% = 225h, every 2h15min you should expect to "waste" 1% of battery, on standby.
Sometimes, overnight, your phone might have an even better battery life: my friend only lost 1% for about 8h/9h overnight. But this is just not common. Expect to loose about 2%~3% every night with all apps closed and no wifi/3G/LTE.
    2) If you detect a battery drain, GO TO AN APPLE STORE/RESELLER RIGHT THE WAY. Don't even bother trying a reset, as I did, because it might solve the problem for a while, but it CAN come back. Go to the apple store and ask for a diagnostic of your phone and battery. It will save you a lot of time.
    3) There are MANY causes to battery drains. The most common ones seem to be: 1- Push notifications/email related stuff -> Reset email, internet and settings. 2- Facebook app -> reinstall app. 3- Defective battery - go to apple store/genius and ask for a replacement phone.
    4) If an iPhone comes from factory with battery issues, expect AT LEAST ONE other issue. My original phone's touch screen was unresponsive when charging on PC and connect to iTunes and my replacement phone's microphone was not working properly. So expect other defective parts
    5) With my experience, I've realized I might have discovered A NEW CAUSE TO BATTERY DRAIN: A DEFECTIVE NANO-SIM CARD. Why? Well, because it's the only thing that I have used on both my iPhones (original and replacement ones). And it's the only thing thats has never been tested (both my charger and cable were tested on apple's reseller and were ok). And in my replacement phone, after I removed the SIM, I started loosing 1% battery every 1h20, when on stand by and with no wi-fi, 3G or LTE. So, if you have a battery issue CONSIDER THE SIM CARD TO BE THE PROBLEM.
Also, when my replacement phone was near any amplifier/pc speaker, it would make the amp make that "call or text incoming" sound. (to understand this, put your phone near an amplifier/speaker and ask for someone to call you). This makes me believe that the SIM card was, somehow, defective and making my phone receiving data (and I mean only telephone data, like related to calls and sms) when it shouldn't.
That's all my friends. If anyone has ever experienced this crazy issues, please try to help me. I'm getting a new sim card, iOS7 and my 3rd replacement phone and let's see if it works as it should.
Sorry for the MANY mistakes, my English is not good =\.
    Cheers from Brazil!

    Hi Folks,
iPhone & iPad2 battery drain issue SOLVED!!!!!
I had a serious battery drain problem on THREE devices using different iOS .... it was a simple fix and had certain characteristics that you may be able to relate to ......
    Devices;     16GB iPhone 4 with IOS6
                      16GB iPhone 4S with iOS7.06
                      32G iPad2 with iOS7.04
On or about Feb. 28th all three devices started to drain the battery like crazy losing about 20%/hour on the iPhones and 10%/hour on the iPad2 .... After messing around with settings, browsing forums and looking at what was common between the three devices I concluded the problem was with a single Microsoft Outlook/Live/Hotmail email account in the iOS native mail app .... I deleted the email account on all three devices (along with other unrelated Microsoft accounts on each device) and did a hard reboot (hold HOME and top LOCK button simultaniously for about 10 seconds until the apple logo appeared).
I then re-created the common Microsoft Outlook/Live/Hotmail account on all three devices in the iOS native mail app ...... SUCCESS! Now all three devices are behaving normaly with respect to battery drain ......
Hopefully this will be useful to others in this thread ..........

  • Best Way To Sync E-mail On Pcs and IPhone?

I have a vista pc, a XP pc and an iphone. I would like e-mail synced on the pcs and accessible by the iphone. If I use my iphone to reply to e-mail or to write new e-mail then I would like that reflected on my pcs.
I don't want all of my e-mail held on my iphone due to concerns over identify theft if the phone is stolen or lost. Therefore, having it fully synched with the pcs doesn't appeal.
I'm seriously thinking about mobileme, more for the photo and document storage together with calendar synching.
I have a pop account, but would consider another account such as gmail or mobileme account. The latter possibly not ideal due to being tied in to Apple and their charges.
I'd be grateful for advice on the best way forward.

I'm aware that imap syncs e-mail but I'm hoping that I can use an impap account but for the iphone only download new e-mail. Having thousands of e-mails on my iphone is a waste of memory and a security concern.
This is not possible. The iPhone's mail client is no different from an email client used on a computer for accessing an IMAP account in this regard.
And you won't have thousands of emails on your iPhone. The iPhone's mail client includes a setting to show XX most recent messages for each mailbox with 200 being the max. If a mailbox has more than 200 messages available, there is a Load More Messages selection at the bottom of the mailbox. And storage used is minimal with an email account unless you open and view each message in a mailbox. When a new message is received with the iPhone's mail client, the message header and the number of message preview lines you have selected are downloaded only. The entire message body is not downloaded until the message is selected to be opened. And if you are connected to the cellular network for internet access, attachments are not downloaded until the attachment is selected in the message body - unless an attachment is under a smaller designated size.
And with an IMAP account that is also accessed with an email client on your computer, you can transfer server stored messages to a mailbox stored locally on your computer's hard drive which removes the messages from the server - especially for older messages received that have not be transferred to additional server stored mailboxes by category, etc.
The iPhone's mail client is really designed to be an extension of the email client used on your computer for accessing an account and IMO, an IMAP account is best for this purpose which is designed to be accessed with multiple email clients. You can create additional server stored mailboxes to sort received and sent messages by category, and you have control over the number of messages available in each server stored mailbox with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account.

  • Problem with recall Campaigns Iphone 5 :(

    Dear all,
There is maybe one month that my Iphone 5 has a problem with the button to lock this one.
But I prefer to wait for change the button that it was impossible to lock my phone.
And there are 2 days, it's very difficult to use my iphone ... When I use it, it takes screenshot alone, it locks alone, it asks me to close him...
So I go to an apple store. And they said to me that there was a problem with this Iphone 5 and it was possible to change this button with the recall campaigns.
BUT, problem !!! I buy this one the 26 January 2013 and we are the 3 February 2015. My Iphone has more than two years so it's too late.
How it's possible, when you buy an Iphone 500 euros and for 7 days, it is impossible to repaire it ?? It's not my fault, if it doesn't work.
And why I haven't had an email for this recall campaigns ?
So today I call the Apple Service to understand this. At the beginning, the person doesn't know this rule. So he asks me to wait. After 15 minutes he answers me : "it's not our problem, it's too late. And even if you haven't had an email, the information is on our website, so it's your fault. But if you want you can buy an other button in an Apple Store but we don't know the price. Bye ! ". After lost my time during 50min, I have had an answer very light. I am really disappointing of the service for this kind of products and this company ...
Do you know if this rule is real ? And why ? Because a recall campaigns haven't limits normally :/
If you have had this problem too, can you help me please ? Or could you give me advices ?
Thanks for your answer and sorry for my bad English.
    Best Regards,
    Corentin.

The page for the recall is pretty clear and specific about the time limitations.

The program covers iPhone 5 models for 2 years after the first retail sale of the unit..

If you purchased AppleCare + on the phone, that gives you a free repair of accidental damage. If you used a credit card to purchase, your card agreement might give you some coverage also, certainly worth checking that option also.
    Good luck.

  • Unexplained Upload from iPhone.

Last night I had a 384.9MB upload charged to my iPhone data plan. Has anything like this happened to anyone else? I became aware when AT&T notified me I had gone over my monthly limit (and they would be charging me accordingly). My other usage at 21 days into the cycle was 23MB. The other oddity I noticed was that my history in Safari was blank prior to this morning. One more thing, my battery was down to 23%, from about 95% when I went to bed. I thought that odd when I noticed this morning, but didn't realize the implications until AT&T sent the text message.
Has anyone had a similar experience? This is most strange. Is there any way to discover the destination URL or the App that was executing the communication? Or did AT&T just make an error and allocate the action to the wrong customer?

That bit about the summary is pretty much what the AT&T Rep read from her script. But it raises three questions for me. 1 What were the other 500+ line items about on the detail page for my account with AT&T? Most were a few KB, their total only 23MB. Why have one line item that amalgamates 17 times as much information as 500 more line items? I think this was a single event.  2 Why had I never seen anything like this before? I've been using the iPhone for about 8 months in pretty much the same way. During the first 23 days of the billing cycle usage averaged 1MB per day. Then the Saturday Night Surprise. 3 We have two other iPhones on the account. They show very similar usage patterns, about 1MB per day. Why was this phone, on this day, different?
So my questions remain: What happened last night? Specifically, technically. Which app (or apps) contributed to this? If I knew, I might decide they had no place on my iPhone, rather than waste time every day remembering to manually kill them. Was there some nuance of the iPhones operation that came into play? It is a very subtle and complex device. While Apple may want the user experience to just be great, once in a while they need to explain just how it works, so we can choose to use some functionality or not.
It's clear that I will need to start resetting the data counter every month and keep an eye on AT&T. The truth is, I think AT&Ts tracking and billing is so automated that there will rarely be errors. But I still would like to know just what was happening Saturday Night. Sounds like an idea for a movie, but I'm just talking data here. I don't expect satisfaction anytime soon.

  • Cannot sync music to iPad or transfer bought films from iPad.

    Hello,
I am having trouble with my iPad 2. I am trying to go through all the options but I cannot get anywhere with it.
I cannot sync any music from my iTunes to the iPad, and I have films purchased on the iPad (Purchased, not rented) that I cannot transfer to iTunes.
On the iPad "about" shows no songs, 1 film. When i go to the iPad tab in iTunes there is the music I want synced (in grey) and no films.
Whenever I go through a sync process it says completing steps 1 through 7, but after step 7 "cancelling sync".
I would restore the iPad but I don't want to lose the film I bought and I'd prefer to transfer it to the Laptop (MacBook) before I Restore the iPad.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Yoga 2 13 still loud as hell -- why this is a failure

I never wanted to write this post, but it's very hard at this point not to say that the Yoga 2 13 is a failure.
The third generation is now available with the Yoga 3 Pro and Yoga 3 14 and somehow, the Yoga 2 13 is fallen in a black hole where nobody inside the company is listening or caring about the congenital problems of this -- ironically -- highly succesful convertible laptop.
Yep, according to Lenovo is "AMERICA'S BEST SELLING CONVERTIBLE 2-IN-1 PC*"
*The NPD Group, Inc. Retail Tracking Service, Convertible Tablet PC Form, Units and Dollars, Jan - Aug 2014.
Not many knows, but the Yoga 2 13 is the cheap brother (or non-Ultrabook version) of the Yoga 2 Pro. The main differences are in the lower res display (1600p vs 1080p), a thicker plastic chassis prone to flex (the Pro has a much sturdier alloy base structure) and a simplified cooling system, with a single fan with two ventilation ports for intake and outtake placed side by side on the back of the laptop.
I don't know if it's caused by this unhappy fan configuration but there's a critical flaw in the Yoga 2 13. It's loud. Most of time. For no reasons at all.
This is not a problem of a batch or some unfortunate samples, it's just how the laptop behave and there are hundreds of posts in the Lenovo message board with basically every Yoga 2 13 user talking about the same behaviour. The thermal management basically overreact to CPU temperatures (U-series Haswell, Ultrabook class), driving frequents and exagerated bumps in fan speed and consequently loud noise. Browsing, listening to music, reading an e-book or even just idling (!!) often leads to irrational bumps in fan speed, without any process sucking more than necessary (antivirus, broken apps, background processes and updates are not the problem).
Now that the third generation is out I've lost fate to see a patch fixing this problem, which by the way, seems to be quite common in all the Yoga family of the brand.
This is not the ONLY problem of the laptop, but it's definitely the most annoying. I can live with the excessive flexing of the base and on the center of the keyboard, with the Wi-Fi drops, the so-so audio and touchpad, and mostly because the clever hinge design compensate for all of that. But when my almost-Ultrabook laptop with an Haswell-U CPU is louder than my desktop workstation, it makes me feel like this laptop is the worst 850 Euros I ever spent in my life.
Lenovo, you can still fix this.

    hi Biscot,
    Welcome to the Forums.
I recommend you stop using that specific USB 3.0 port and contact lenovo support ASAP for service. An investivation was done with this issue and a service tip has been released to fix it.

  • Song as a Text Tone

Trying to get a song as my text tone. So far I plugged in my iPod touch to my computer, right clicked the song, and clicked Get Info (it's in ACC). But when I click "Options", everything is gray and I can't click anything. Please help!

I just did the same thing... I was stupid in assuming that apple would check the things sold on iTunes and remove text tones. I feel like I am being punished because I haven't rooted my iPhone. Please don't give me a reason to insult you by jailbreaking my phone and effectively saying that all that time you guys spent developing the UI and the experience on the iPhone was a waste of time.

  • Is there a way to set the default view for the App Store to only show Apps for iPads when the Store is launched?

I'm a new iPad owner and would like to set the default view for myself to show only Apps for the iPad when I launch the the App Store app. Showing apps for iPhone seems a waste of real estate for me and time spent searching for a particular app since I do not own an iPhone.
    Thanks for any assist. :-)
