Iphone 5 alarm issue

I want to use my iphone as my alarm clock and i want to wake up to a song, I created a new alarm, set it to the song i wanted, adjusted the time, but when its time to sound, no music. Only seems to work on vibrate or ringtone. I've tried everything, turning off vibrate, making sure my sound was on and volume up. Anybody else having this issue? Before i turned off vibrate entirely, i would just vibrate over and over. Now, this morning, it was just silent, luckily i just woke up. I turned on my phone and it showed the alarm notification but no sound. I'm at a lost trying to figure it out. My Ipad 4th gen, iOS 6, seems to be fine though.

Hello star2777,
I want to recommend the troubleshooting in this article.
Archived - iPhone: No ring or sound from built-in speaker
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1205
If that does not resolve the issue, I recommend sections 1, 3, and 5 of our iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/. If you get to step 3 I recommend closing ALL the apps. Here is step 1 to get you started:
Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
All the best,
Sterling

  • Iphone alarm issue

    hi there,
I have an iphone 3gs running ios4.1 (windows based, itunes 10.01.22).
since the daylight savings changeover here in New Zealand my alarm has been going off an hour early every day, this is for scheduled alarms, one off alarms seem to be working ok.
I have attached several local articles about this and clearly it is not a one off problem.
Im sure someone has already asked, but is there an official solution to this?
    see attached articles.
    http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/gadgets/4170853/iPhone-alarms-ring-early-in-da ylight-savings-glitch
    http://www.iphonewzealand.co.nz/2010/all/iphone-alarm-borked-by-daylight-savings /

I was late to update to iOS 4.1 but when I did the battery on my phone would drain at a drastic rate. I did a lot of things such as turning off push etc. to resolve this problem but to no avail.
This morning my phone alarm went off one hour early as some others have said. I live in North America so have not rolled the time back so this really doesn't explain the problem. After doing some online research I did a test on my phone and found that if the alarm is not set to repeat it goes off at the correct time, but if set to repeat (everyday) it will go off an hour early.
Furthermore my battery drain issue seems to be fixed as of today. I have used my phone very little today, as I have gotten used to using it sparingly, and my battery is still at 93%. In days recently passed with similar usage it would be down to 50% - 60%
Bottom line, something in the phone software (iOS 4.1) seems to have been set to change today 1 Nov. 2010 and apparently fixed a battery drain issue but screwed up the alarm.

  • IPhone alarm issue after DST change

Can't set an alarm on my iPhone for any time between 2AM and 2:59AM. (After you set it and hit save, the summary shows it set for an hour earlier.) It only happens during that time frame.
Tried changing to military time, making the time set to manual, etc., no luck.

Might be something with the date. After midnight tonight try again. I just tried on mine and same thing, after you save the time gets set to an hour earlier; ie 2:41 becomes 1:41. Any other time works fine.
Maybe it is not counting that the alarm will go off tomorrow but it counting it was 2:41am 3/14 which technically does not exist.

  • IPhone 4 Alarm Issue (US edition)

So this morning I wanted to get up early to vote and set three alarms: 5:30a, 5:45a and 6a. Obsessive behavior aside, I used two "everyday" alarms (repeats everyday) at 5:30a and 6a, and a one-time-only alarm at 5:45a.
To my chagrin, the 5:30a alarm actually went off at 4:30a. Ditto for the 6a alarm, it went off at 5a. The one-time-only alarm went off at 5:45a, as scheduled. In all cases, the iPhone clock was accurate (so the clock wasn't off) and the alarm settings had not changed (all setting say 5:30a, 5:45a and 6a). It just seems that somewhere deep in the phone is an hour off.
This has never happened before this morning. I know the Europeans have been having trouble because their alarms *did not* trigger the end of Daylight Savings Time this week. But this almost seems to be the inverse of that problem.
Anyone else having this issue? Thoughts on how to fix it?

I have been using the iPhone alarm for years now, and have never had an issue until now. Since I work at a different time every day, I have staggered alarms set to let me know when to wake up, when my shower time is up, and when I need to get my tail out the door. I use the Repeat "Every Day" selected, then I just change the times the night before. Since Sunday, October 31st, all of the alarms have gone off an hour early and with five alarms per day, I find this extraordinarily annoying. I have tried resetting the alarms, rebooting the phone and searching Apple's website for answers. It seems that so far, they have only acknowledged the European alarm issues. I find it very disappointing that they haven't admitted to even being aware of the problem, and following the tech support option only leads me to the pay for support option. It's your bug Apple, own up to it! Who thought it was a good idea to write a program where the alarm doesn't use the system time? A second year Computer Science major should know better...

  • [FIXED] iPhone  alarm not work issues..

New Year’s 2011 breaks (non-recurring) iPhone alarm clocks (update: auto-fixes)
    Fixed:

The iPhone alarm bug will fix itself on January 3, but if you want to fix your phone now you can simply fix it by editing the alarm and setting it to repeat for multiple days.

  • Iphone alarm clock makes no sound

The day after daylight savings my iphone alarm clock stopped making any noise. Its very stressful and im sure its not on silent, do not disturb. The ringer and volume are all turned up it just doesnt even vibrate. Its not that it doesnt say there is an alarm, the screen will turn on and say an alarm is present but it just wont make any noise or vibration ): . This happened right after daylight savings and ive had enough is anyone else having this issue. I really dont want to restore it just is so much work. I mean i will if i have to but has anyone come up with an easy solution?

Have you tried resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen redisplays, go into your Alarm, edit it, and see if the sound is playing correctly when you select the alarm sound.
You can also try editing it to a different alarm sound to see if that is working.
    Cheers,

  • My iPhone alarm clock is not working. Anyone else?

My iPhone alarm clock is not working. I have the latest software: 6.2.1. I set my alarm at 11:30 pm to go off at 12:30 am and 3:30 am, neither went off. I actually wok up right before 3:30, open up the clock app to see if my alarm was on and both the alarms were set to off. I have been having trouble with alarms similarly the last week or so.

    Hi Homer,
I would suggest a re-install of the iPhone to fix this issue.
Make sure to do a full backup of the iPhone before you do this otherwise you may lose some of your data

  • My iPhone alarm is not going off.

Ok, so... Several mornings in a row my iPhone alarm has behaved very strangely. If I set it for 7:30, with the "crickets" sound, both occasions I've woken up at 8:00, a half hour late. When I wake up, there are no crickets sounding. Strangely, when I look at my phone there is the interface on the screen that offers to allow me to "Snooze". That, to me, indicates that the alarm has triggered. I just don't get the sound.
I've used the crickets sound for at least a year now. My traditional experience has been that when the crickets start chirping, the generally chirp forever until I tell them to stop. I've even come home to them chirping because I forgot an alarm I set. So... what's up?
Also, no... the headphones are not it. And, the silent toggle is not on (not that it should matter - the alarm goes off even with silent on).
    Jaime

Also I should mention that Apple said it is a hardware issue, but a software issue.

  • Iphone alarm on 3 jan 2011

my daughter is a resident doctor and it is critical for her to arrive at the hospital prior to 6am. since we (her parents) are visiting we did a test on the iphone alarm this morning. I set a non-recurring alarm at 4:45 and a 4 day recurring alarm at 5am. She set non-recurring alarms at 5am and 5:15am and a recurring alarm at 5:30am
none of the non recurring alarms worked but both of the recurring alarms worked perfectly. This test leads me to believe the problem is in the calendar and the recurring alarms work because the app is activating the next day schedule and not the current day. Thus I suspect the recurring alarm set for mon, tue, wed, thur may not work on thur because the calendar is off 1 day.

I had the same issue this morning with the one time alarm. I tried it again after having turned off/on my iPhone and it worked.

That is a new "feature" described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
You can turn it off by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off

  • Does the iPhone alarm work when the phone is turned off?

    hi there
i am wondering if the iPhone alarm will still go on as scheduled if you have the phone turned off at night? thanks in advance -

ok thanks- that is what i thought - i used to have a different cell that the alarm would work even if you had the phone turned off. so this is a good to know, so that i don't have the phone turned off if i need to wake up in the morning using the alarm.
    thanks again

  • IPhone alarm clock via speakers

    Hey,

Does anybody have some experience with the iPhone alarm clock and speakers?
    Thank you very much

  • IPhone Alarm Sound Used on My Name is Earl

Tonight (09-27-07) I was watching "My Name is Earl", yes I know...we are all supposed to be smarter than that here but, they used the iPhone's Alarm sound about 3 times during the prison scenes to simulate problems within the prison. The showed a big horn speaker and you heard the iPhone Alarm sound. If you get a chance to catch a re-broadcast you will know in a second that's where they got the sound. Maybe it's a royalty free sound and Apple took it from the same library of sounds that the TV producers got theirs from. Again, kind of dumb but thought it was worth mentioning.

Yup... Apple swiped it from "The Hollywood Edge" a sound library used for scoring movies and tv shows

Yes, they should sync. Check the Watch app on the iPhone and look at Calendar - make sure it's set to Mirror my phone
If it still doesn't work, reset the Watch, restart the phone and re-pair the Watch - fixes a few glitches

    Hey there Gordo456,
It sounds like you are not able to join your Wi-Fi network with the correct password on 1 out of many devices. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Restart your iOS device.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
If that troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, I would next try these steps from further down the article:
Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling
