IPhone 5 + Alpine INE-S920HD

I can't get my bluetooth to work on my new iPhone 5 and my Alpine INE-S920HD.  It will find it, sync/pair, and I can get audio for about a second and then it disconnects, reconnects, disconnects, reconnects.  I can't seem to get it to remain stable for either audio or phone calls on bluetooth.  I may have to switch back to my iPhone 4 till Alpine or Apple get the kinks worked out.
Any chance that anyone has the same Alpine Head Unit and don't have a problem with it?

Just spoke with Apple.  It looks like Bluetooth issues are a common problem along with my WIFI issues and yellow screen.  I guess I'll wait it out for a while.

  • 3G iphone Alpine Full Speed cable

I wonder why the 3g iphone doesnt support charging thru the alpine fullspeed cable? the previous iphone was able to charge while it was connected.... hopefully they can fix this problem with a future update...

The iPhone 3G doesn't support charging via Firewire through the port on the bottom. Existing iPods were able to sync and charge through Firewire. Later iPods only synced through USB but still allowed charging through Firewire.
See iPhone Help, and navigate to Basics -> Charging the Battery.
Perhaps the cable is using the Firewire pins for providing power.

  • Iphone 4 since upgrade to ios 5.1.1 no longer works with made for itunes, iphone devices.

Ever since I upgraded to IOS 5.1.1 my Iphone no longer works for playing music thorugh my Apline car unit, My Logic 3 clock radio, and a Next made for ipod device.
I can sync through ITunes on the PC and can also play videos through the HDMI adapter.   My wifes iphone 4s and the kids  hand me down iphone 3s still play fine through these made for Itunes , Ipod , Iphone devices.
I want to downgrade back to the prior IOS  I had before Apple encouraged me to install this bugged one.   How do I go about getting a legit non jailbroken prior IOS version installed on my Iphone?
Is Apple aware of this issue , as I have seen blogs about this it is affecting other people?   Will this issue be resolved with ios 6?
Can I get the beta ?
    Thanks,
    Douglas

Agreed. Same thing here. Just bought a late model Alpine INE-S920Hd and it is all kinds of broken. I think this is happening because Apple shifted the music and video. Totally buggy. Bluetooth refuses to work properly, too. A2dp keeps stealing the audio from Pandora in the Alpine interface. The ipod controls dont work at all.

  • Automatic iphone backup location - upgrade to iOS 5

I am looking for the iPhone automatic backup file created by iTunes while upgrading iPhone to iOS 5 via  iTunes 10.5.2.11 / Windows XP.  Itunes creates automatically a backup of iPhone before upgrading and will restore this backup after upgrade is completed.  I need to know where to find this backup file.
I just upgraded iPhone to iOS 5 via iTunes on Windows XP.  I forgot to make my own iPhone backup before upgrading.  After upgrading and restoring iPhone (the automaitc backup), iTunes started a sync with Outlook even tough I had checked in iTunes "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically".
I did  not wish iTunes to sync with Outlook, and cancelled the sync.  Now I got a lot of stuff mixed up in my iPhone and I would like to restore my iPhone with the automatic backup created by iTunes before upgrading to iOS 5.  This backup doesn't show in the backups listed in iTunes / device backups.
    Thank you.

  • Voice recognition no longer works in my 2013 Chevy Traverse since updating to 6.1.4 on my iPhone 5. Any ideas for me?

Voice recognition worked perfect in my new car until about a month ago. Thinking it was when I updated to 6.1.4. Now it never understands what I am saying when trying to call one of my contacts.   If I say a number to call, it can understand that, but not when I say a name. Tried deleting and re-pairing. Didn't work. Tried pairing another iphone5 using same op system and had same problem.

irinat5124723, can you verify a few things:
Did you design MOST of your web site on the master page, or just BASIC page elements?
How many layers are you using?
To me it sounds like most of the site is designed as a master page – hence the trouble selecting elements once outside the master page. Feel free to send me the Muse file to check.

  • IPhone 3G Lack of compatibility with Alpine CDE-9852 car stereo system

So I have a Alpine CDE-9852 car stereo system along with the Alpine iPod adapter in my 1994 Toyota Celica and I've come across a little problem ever since I upgraded to iPhone 3G. See, when I had my 2G iPhone and plugged it in via the dock connector, my car's stereo system played what was playing on my iPhone. When I answered phone calls the music stopped and then continued when the call ended. Most importantly, when I was plugged it, my iPhone charged itself. Everything was great!
When I bought my iPhone 3G though, something changed. My system still plays songs from my iPhone, stop when a call comes in, and continues when the call ends, BUT my phone no longer gets charged! I've tried messing around with the phone, but no luck. So I'm assuming there is a compatibility issue, and I realize a firmware from Alpine is highly unlikely, so my question for you all is: Am I out of luck on this or is it possible that something can be done to allow my 3G to charge via the car's ipod adapter? Also, could Apple solve this issue, by adding more compatibility to the next firmware? I would appreciate any feedback and incite on what can/can't be done. I'm planning to write/call Apple and Alpine to try and get to the bottom of this problem. It's just so disappointing that the old phone charged and the new one doesn't. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

So you were right to assume I transposed the numbers, it is the 9857. Thanks for all the valuable info you have given me so far. Now, here is my question, I have an iPod adapter box, that cost me $100. Now I'm not sure what model number this is (I can find out once I go home this weekend), but I can tell you it is an Alpine iPod adapter box. Its what I used to plug in my iPhone for the past year and a half. I bought this back more than 2 years ago though, so I don't know if affects the 2006 compatibility time period, so possibly you could answer that once I get you the model number. So with the 422i, would it replace the ipod adapter I have now, or just change the cable that goes from the adapter to my iPhone? Also, the website talks about it as though it strictly supports iPods, is it compatibable with my iPhone? Also, will I be able to use an phone features with the new cable.
So with the replacement cable you said it will do 5 volt, which is what I need for the iPhone right? I don't have a 120 gb classic, so I'm all set there. As far as connecting my iPhone, playing music from it, and charging it, is this cable my solution?
Also, so the scoche adapter would solve all these issues as well? Including the needed charging area? Finally, do you know if there are any head units out there by alpine or anyone for that matter that would provide me (an iPhone 3G owner) with all the functionality I've been looking for PLUS phone capabilities? I'm not looking to drop an arm and a leg or get a big screen alpine head unit, but something that would broadcast my calls in the car through the system. I realize this might have to include buying a bluetooth unit, but I figure it might be worth it to get all that capability.
Thanks again Jeddix for all your help.

  • IPhone 3G works with Alpine iDA-X200 car stereo

I just wanted to drop a quick note letting folks know that my iPhone 3G works flawlessly with my new Alpine iDA-X200 car stereo. Charging and playing music from the iPhone's iPod work well. As an added bonus I can also play Pandora music through my car speakers with the system. I do get the "This is not a supported accessory do you want to enable Airplane mode?" question but I answer "No" and haven't had a problem.
In case anyone is in the market for a new car stereo to work with their iPhone 3g I recommend the Alpine iDA-X100 or X200 head units.

So I went to the store where I bought my Alpine iDA-X200 and explained what was going on. They seemed to think that is was a problem with all X200s and not just the unit I got - they've had a number of problems with stereos hooked up to iPods and even more so with iPhones.
Well, after playing my iPhone 3G on a demo iDA-X200 for 18 minutes it began to drop out the audio. They were going to call Alpine in the morning and see if they had any advice but before that I plugged in my iPhone 3G into their demo iDA-X100 and let it play. After 35 minutes on the X100 it hadn't missed a beat so I paid the difference and swapped out for the X100. So far I'm pleased but we'll see how things go over the next couple of days - I and hopeful but have my fingers crossed.

  • How can I get my iPhone 4 w/ iOS6 to Connect bluetooth with my Alpine CDE-133BT Car Stereo?

My iPhone 4 with iOS6 will not send a bluetooth signal to the Alpine CDE-133BT Stereo I installed on my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. It had previously connected with iOS5. I contacted Crutchfield where I opurchased the stereo from and they said this is a common complaint with multiple brands of stereos not being compatible with the new iOS6 update. Has anyone had this issue and has a solution? Or is this something that Apple will have to fix?
BTW, my phone recognizes my stereo as a bluetooth device but the stereo does not recognize the phone.
    Thanks.

Hi I've had my CDE-133BT since July and recently updated to IOS6 on my iPhone 4 (not an S).
I had to hold the BT phone button and forget all the devices paired to the 133BT.
    Then pair the phone again.
I can stream music now however I can't control (change tracks, pause or play from the 133BT).
This is because Alpine needs to update the firmware I believe.
    Hope that helped!

  • Iphone 4s bluetooth volume problems through Alpine HU

Having trawled through numerous reports of bluetooth problems with the 4S I have not found one which replicates my issue although I could have missed it.
Essentially I think my query boils down to " Does the 3GS output music, via bluetooth at a higher level than the 4S, assuming both using IOS5.0.1" .Because my new iphone 4S is much much quieter than my old 3gs and I want to establish whether this is a software problem or a faulty unit.
For the last couple of years I have been using a 3GS which paired perfectly with my Alpine CDA-9887/Bt400 stereo in the car, handled calls well and when playing music via the bluetooth input ( which it did exceptionally well) it was at the same sound level as the other inputs for a given vol setting, i.e. I could switch from radio, to disc to bluetooth withouth changing the volume.
Having just changed to an iphone 4S I have found that although the unit pairs ok and seems to handle calls well enough (although rather mushy sounding compared to 3GS) it is very quiet when using the ipod function via bluetooth.
Volume and sound quality are very subjective I realise but to give an indication of the problem, the Alpine head unit has a volume scale from 0-39. On all inputs (except with the 4S) a volume of 5 is fine for spoken voice, 12 good for music on the move 21 is very very loud pushing the cars speakers to the limit. These levels are approx the same when playing music through an iphone 3GS and an ipod touch via bluetooth.
By contrast the iphone 4S is inaudible at vol 5, needs 20 to be listenable to on the move and even at vol 39 sounds thin and about as load as a 3GS at vol18  so ful vol not possible from my iphone 4S
The main problem with this is that if you are listening to music from the iphone 4S then switch to the radio without remembering to drastically reduce volume it is likely to result in damage to the speakers and/or your eardrums. The problem is compounded as I use the TomTom app regularly and this exibits the same problem, the volume needs to be very high for instructions and then if I change input to listen to the news....ouch.
I have tried 2 iphone 3GS's and an ipod touch on this Alpine unit and they all work perfectly, being able to maintain the same output for a given HU vol level as the radio etc. I have tried increasing the bluetooth volume on the 4S handset, have tried clean restore to see if there is some obscure problem with my backup all to no avail.
Has anyone upgraded from a 3GS to a 4S and found the music level in a car via bluetooth much quieter, the same or louder and does this sound like a hardware problem.
    thanks.

Funny Apple told me to eat **** and call my car place.
    HELP !!!
It’s not like we are working with Samsun here. They should have thought it out fixed all the bugs then went ahead. I am...... ******!  My 3 week old Volkswagen Tiguan no longer plays my MUSIC nor my Audible. Its so not ok. This is a breach of contract. • I have an otterbox for my iphone 4s. I have a  alpine 910 gps stereo and want to know if there are any docking units that hold my iphone while inside the otterbox case and can charging, and transferring data to the stereo?

I have an otterbox case for my iphone 4s and want to know if there's a docking unit where i can sit my phone in with the case still on and with a usb connection it'sll charge and transfer data (music, video, etc, to my stereo unit (alpine 910 gps)

Apple isnt here. this is a user based forum for technical questions. The solution is to restart, reset, and restore as new which is in the manual after that get it replaced for hard ware failure. if your within your one year warranty its replaced if it is out of the warranty then it is 199$

  • IPhone 6 doesn' consistantly play on Alpine Car Audio.

I have an Alpine ida-X100 Mp3/iPod player in my car that connects via USB / 30-pin to any iPod or iPhone. (IT DOES NOT USE THE HEADPHONE JACK< JUST THE CHARGING PORT.  I have had this player for several years and it has worked on every iPhone I have had.  When the iPhone went to the lightning connector, I simply bought a lightning adapter for the 30-pin.  Even after I bought the iPhone 6 (using ios8.3) it played.  But just recently I get an error message on my phone saying "this device may not be compatible with iPhone", or something like that.  and it will not play music.  I have tried resetting the phone, resetting my Alpine player, closing all the other apps, and even playing the music directly on my phone instead of through the Alpine.
I thought his might be a bad cable, but have bought new cables, and a new lightning / 30-pin adapter, and got no results.  The reason I thought it was the cable is because it still does sometimes play.. I plug it in when I get in the car, and I have about a 30% chance of it starting to play.  When it does play, I tried wiggling the cable to see if it would cut off.. but it keeps playing.
Is there a bug or a glitch on the last few updates of ios8?  This problem occured when I got a 8.x version of ios8.  So it did not happen when I first got the iphone 6.
Being that it sometimes plays leads me to believe there's something on the phone that prevents it from connecting to the player, and that something is turned off not working when it does play.
I've checked with Alpine and have gotten nothing.
Can anyone help?  Is anyone else experiencing this that plugs their iPhone into their car stereo?

    Hello there, Dominic.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting the issue with bluetooth pairing to your car:
If you can’t use a Bluetooth accessory or car kit
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6473
To resolve the issue, you'll need to first sign in to iCloud and review your devices:
Sign in to iCloud on your iOS devices.
On one of your devices, tap Settings > Bluetooth and look under My Devices. You'll see all devices that are connected to Bluetooth, but make sure that you see your Apple devices that are signed in to iCloud and are using iOS 8.
Sign out of your iCloud account from any devices that you don't want to use. To sign out of iCloud on an iOS device, tap Settings > iCloud > Sign Out.
Then, remove any inactive devices from iCloud:
    Sign in to iCloud.com.
    Select Find My iPhone.
Select any devices that aren't active anymore.
Wait for Find My iPhone to stop trying to find the inactive device.
You should see the option to remove this device from your account. Select it to remove the device.
After following the steps above, restart the device with the issue. Then try to use it with your Bluetooth accessory.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • I'm trying to connect my iphone 4S to Alpine CDE-125BT head unit.

I'm trying to connect my iphone 4S to Alpine CDE-125BT head unit.  I have the latest iphone IOS update (v5.1).  When I connect the phone, the head unit gives me "Unit Error" which means that the iphone is not recognized.  How do you fix this problem?

KitledTim, thanks for your responses.  I appreciate your help.
I have more information that prove useful to others who view this post.  The user manual for the CDE-125BT states that a user MUST have the ALPINE FULL  SPEED Connection cable (PN KCE-433iV) to connect to the ipod/iphone (this cable is only supplied with the CDE-126BT) connected to the back of the head unit.  What is more confusing is that what is supplied with the -125BT is a standard USB to iphone cable giving you the impression that it will work on the front USB port.  The installers at Best Buy have seen that the front port has worked in the past but has had problems lately after the 5.1 IOS push.  I went and purchased the FULL SPEED Connection cable and now audio streaming does work.  The only thing that doesn't work is the ability to charge the phone when plugged into the radio.
How do you drop a line to Apple to ask about accessories (or problems with accessories)?  I'm trying to provide as much info to Alpine to see if they have a solution.

  • Pair iPhone with alpine car radio

My iPhone 5 won't pair with the Alpine radio in my car. The iPhone 4 did it with no problems.

I have an Alpine CDE-103BT, had an iphone 4 paired to it. When I got my iPhone 5 I couldn't get it paired. It saw the unit but using 0000 failed each time even though the Alpine manual said to use it and that worked with the iPhone 4. I bought the Stereo at Crutchfield which has lifetime support for anything you get from them. After several hours of searching and reading forums I broke down and called Crutchfield. Supplied my order number and explained what was happening. They told me even though the maunal say use 0000 , try 1234 . Did 1234 and I now have the iPhone5 paired to my Alpine.

  • Alpine CDA-9884 car stereo won't charge iPhone 4. Worked fine with 1st gen

Why can I not charge my iPhone 4 from my car stereo as I have done for the past couple of years with my 1st gen iPhone?
Does the new battery charge differently?

It's the iOS4.0 that is messing it up, I have a 3GS and work at a Car Audio Shop and 100% of every model of every manufacturer does not work with the OS4. Some of these radio were just release less then a month ago built specificaly for iPhones, and after the update to OS4 they no longer function. Same Phone, same radio, different OS different results. Sonys will just sit there frozen with Ipod displayed on the screen. Pioneer Radios will display searching then after a few mins give Error-19. Kenwoods flash Searching.... forever. Alpines display Device Error, the alpine thats made for iphone and pandora never recognize the phone or ipod even if you have the pandora alpine link app running. JVC displays Searching forever. So your going to have to wait 6 months or more before you can get a new radio that can work with the OS4 and iPhone 4. If you have an older iPhone and want to keep your radios working with them, just dont allow the upgrade. Hopefully apple can patch whatever is blocking the comunication ports these radios use, or put the old code they removed back in so they become backwards compatible, but I wouldn't bet on it, if they break your stuff and do nuthing about it you have to buy more stuff, which makes them more money. Just a Heads Up. Was hoping to come here and see some hadn't had the same problems but looks like theres alot of issues with OS4 tbh.
