IPhone 5 backed up looks like old iPhone3GS

I upgraded to the new iPhone 5 (from a 3GS) last Saturday and it has been a HUGE headache! Now that I FINALLY have everything on my iPhone (5 days later - I'll spare you the details) my new iPhone looks like my old iPhone - meaning I can only have 4 apps down the column of the screen and not 5. I try to shift the app tiles to the bottom row and it won't let me. It seems the screen resolution has changed when I backed it up? How do I fix this? I really liked how it looked before.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Set the iPhone up as a new iphone (no restore from backup). Next update the iPhone to iOS 8.1.1. Finally renter Setup by chosing Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. You will now be able to setup using your backup.

IPhone screen turned white- looks like screen damage but no damage has been done

I turned my phone off because my Whatsapp was being weird. And when I went to turn my phone back on my screen was white/grey with a couple of faded vertical lines. The corners of the screen look darker and it looks like screen damage. The phone is still on just the screen isnt working, I have tried restarting but a number of times but this hasnt worked. Had loads of problems with my iPhone, anyone had anything similar happen?

Give it a couple of gentle "spanks" across the back of it. If this doesn't solve it, back up and restore via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a new device and test. If the problem is solved, there is some kind of corruption in your backup file or maybe it's one of your apps causing problems. If it continues, take it to an Apple Store for evaluation of a possible hardware problem.

IMac screen looked like old PC

When I turned my iMac (with 10.8.4) on this morning, the screen was black background and white letters. Looked like the old IBM PC's where you had to type all kind of cryptic messages to get the darn thing to work. (Hooray for the Mac mouse!)
Yes, I read the stuff but it meant nothing to me and gave me no hint of the problem or what to do. I hit my on button on back of my monitor, held it down until it went off, waited a short time, started it up again and it was ok.
What was that!??? Will it happen again? Is it a sign of an impending problem? What can/should, I do, if anything?

Hi Rose,
The iMac had for some reason restarted and gone into single user mode, or safe mode...to know why would take a listing of exactly what the messages said that were on the screen. This could have been associated with a power outage or surge, but usually iMacs just restart when that happens.
If it is booted correctly now and working properly, just keep an eye on it and if it happens again, write down exactly what the messages say and post them here. Someone can then help diagonse what is happening.

Getting back is hard, but go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and under Calendars check the time for syncing...set that as far back as you can, the default is one month.

IPhone screen and photos look like negatives of images.

Time machine stopped backing up, looks like backupd crashes

I have a mini that's a few years old and can't go past 10.6.8. I have been using TM for backups for years, and recently it stopped backing up. No errors, just always "waiting for backup". At first I thought it was a problem with the destination disk but I've tried a couple including a newly reformatted one. Always the same problems so it looks like a problem with the boot drive or computer. Found this in the error logs, backupd is crashing every time it tries to back up. I have run disk utility, the repair disk doesn't show any errors but repair permissions lists a bunch and says it fixes them but then lists them all again if I run it again. I have done a bunch of searching for these particular errors and checked the pondini website but haven't found anything that helps this issue.

SMS looks like old blackberry curve. . .how can i change it?

heyy =) if someone could help me that would be great!
i just got the new blackberry curve 8520 and my SMS looks just like that of the older curve. i seen a few forums here where people didn't like the new threaded look (but i do!) and there is no way of changing it, is that the same if mine looks like the old way and i want to change it to the new one. so it. i tried to see if my desktop manager would pick up any upgrades for me but it didn't. im not sure what other way i could go about this =S please help!

How to make new Firefox look like old Firefox?

I was looking at the new version of Firefox and really don't like how it looks. If I update to it is there a way to make Firefox look like the old one? 3.6.24 is the version I'm using now, and I really like how it looks.

To restore the old appearance right click the orange Firefox button to open the toolbar context menu or use (F10) View > Toolbars.
* Click the Menu Bar entry and place a check-mark to make the Menu Bar visible all the time (Windows and Linux).
* Click "Tabs on Top" to remove the check mark and place the Tab Bar at its original position just above the browser window.

All color has changed on iPhone 5...looks like everything is overexposed

The color on my phone has changed. Looks like overexposed pictures. Tried turning off and on, no change.

try settings>general>aaccessibility>invert colors>off

My Menu names look like old bitmap graphics. What happened?

Not sure when this happened but the menu fonts both headers and in the drop downs look like poor bitmap fonts and not smooth like they used to. My screen resolution is set tot he max and I don't have zoom turned on. Any ideas?

Go into your system preferences and check appearance then make sure Use LCD font smoothing when available is checked.

I finally figured out how to do this. I turned off iMatch on iPhone and iMac and then synced library. A little over half done. Now I will finally be able to listen to my entire library bypassing flawed iMatch. I estimate about 1% of my library had problems.

My iPhone doesn't even look like its connect to iTunes

I have the same greyed out wifi problem other people have. I am on my second 4S. I have reset the phone via the phone and reset the phone via itunes. Nothing happens when I connect my phone to my itunes on my computer. An iphone appears, but it is obviously not the phone I have connected. In fact, when I sync it, nothing happens on the phone itself. It does not shut down, it does not show the black screen with the white apple. Nothing. Yet, itunes thinks its syncing. Even apps I download from the computers itunes, that show on itunes they are downloading, do not appear on my phone. It is as if there is another phone connected to my itunes. So my question is, is this possible through icloud? or is it a software/hardware issue? Anyone come across this sort of thing, ever?

[iPhone SDK] UIScrollView to look like in Safari

UIScrollView seems to be setup to page through views that have pages the same size of the UIScrollView. But in Safari, the pages are about a half the size of the screen width. With a quarter of the screen margins on the left and right. This allows it to show a portion of the pages to the left and right of the current page. How can I set this up?
