IPhone 5 Black Bezel & Scratches

Can anybody who attended the iPhone 5 launch comment on the iPhone 5 black bezel.
I am thinking of ordering the black version tomorrow but I am conscious that when scratched, the bezel will show silver marks.
I don't want to use a cover and meticulously look after my phone, the the odd bump is inevitable.

I've only had my black iPhone 5 for a few days now, and I already have chips in the new, shiny, "highly-polished" chamfers (or bezels). I dropped it onto a smooth tile floor while bending over to pick something else up. It only dropped less than one foot and some of the shiny black chamfer chipped off. Now I have a few silver marks on the edges. Needless to say, I immediately put it into a case. If I could order it again, I would get the white/silver one. I love the color of the black phone, but I don't think that it will stand up to "normal" daily wear- it is just too fragile. Luckily, I had screen protectors on the front and back, or else I'm sure that I would have scratches on the aluminum back. This is my 3rd iPhone, and the first time that I have ever put a mark or scratch on one. The previous models (3GS, 4S) were much more durable in my opinion. I didn't even put cases on them, and I still did not scratch them.

When i bought my iphone a month ago, i noticed one scuff right out the box but i didn't make a big deal. It wasn't really noticable but now i can see at least 4 scuffs, all on the edge. It's kind of weird since it's always in my pocket or on my desk sitting on a cleaning cloth
What do you think i can do? Apple store is 2 hours away and i don't think the carrier would exchange it after 1 month

am gonna get an iphone 5 black from someone soon and unfortunately i have no control over the color choice. i wanted white but i am gonna get a black piece.
i often come across blogs on the internet saying the iphone 5 black gets scratched a lot! i dont wanna put an ugly case of a sctarch guard on my iphone's back. the scratch guards tend to reflect the flash's light when taking pics with flash on, which over exposes the pictures.
so anyway, i called up apple care guys and they said the problem of scratches is solved.
can i just use my iphone 5 without haivng to worry about its beautiful aluminum back getting scratched?

You make me look stupid! Lol. Obviously I know that putting it through the extremities would cause damange but I am talking about general use. Last thing I want to know if there is a scratch on it because of the ring I wear!
What I have heard is of the black one being extremely sensitive. Today, a guy from a nearby apple service center asked me to get a bumper cause, he said, the side aluminium gets bent if u accidently drop the iphone 5.
i have dropped my iphone 3g and 4 several times but this was never an issue. so was just asking about 'general use'. thanks anyway for ur reply.

i put my phone straight into a belkin case that leaves the top and bottom edges exposed. It looks like the anodised aluminium loses it anodisedness (not a word) pretty quickly, the very edge of the aluminium has lost its colour.
Oh and I'm still hunting for a charging dock that apple says I don't need.
Apple stocks are dropping, the world is falling apart.

Hello , i wan't to buy an iphone 5 black from UK LONDON APPLE STORE , but i am afraid to buy a blackone because i saw video in which sides are strach fast , or have dots/scuffs. If you purchase a brand-new iPhone and it has cosmetic damage out of the box, take pictures and then contact the seller.
Just put a case on the device, and you'll never have to look at scatches. It's a mobile device; it's going to get scratches. I guarantee you that your car has visible scratches somewhere after the first month of use. Same for pretty much everything in life.

Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining.

Next time make regular backups of your computer. The iPhone is not a backup device, and I'm sure you lost more than your iTunes library. See this user tip for your options: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

Since Apple doesn't repair iPhones (they replace them) you will have to take it back to whoever "fixed" it. Since it's been opened by an unauthorized 3rd party, it is no longer eligible for replacement by Apple.

Anywhere you can find it via the obvious Google search. It won't be from Apple, but will be a generic replacement.
Why are you throwing away any future chances of out of warranty replacements when you drop or drown it? Apple will give you a warranteed replacement phone for $199 (in the US, roughly the same in your country)

IPhone 5 - black model paint problem

Dear apple community!
I have iPhone 5 black model and edge color was chipped off after very carefull usage! If the paint chips this easy now what's my phone gonna look like in a years time after being in and out of my pocket, car keys, kids getting hold of it... It looks like anything could chip the paint. So my question is what kind of paint or marker I can use to repaint the edge of iPhone and hide that paint chips. I tried with black permanent marker but it comes off easy. Plase give me some advice because I'm desperate sad and disappointed. My new black iPhone 5 looks like trash with that silver dots. Thank you apple once again...

Compare iPhone 5 Black and White

I have just bought an iPhone 5 black. So now I have white and black one(both 5).
I was looking at the black one, when I noticed something differant from the white 'other than the color'.
First, there are three "wholes" on the white iPhone -as in the picture- where A is the Camera, B is the Receiver+front mic, and C is to the left of B.
All of these "wholes" are the same as my white iPhone, but on the black iPhone whole C is on the bottom slightly to the left of the Home Button. So is that normal? shouldn't C be to the left of B as in the white iPhone?

The black and white iPhone 5 are identical. The sensor hole "C" is very difficult to see on the black screen, but it is there identical to the white one. There is no sensor hole on the bottom. Look at the black screen in very strong light.
