I bought iphone 5 few months back in india. but recently black coating has started to come off. Need suggestions on what could be done.

Let me tell u thats not the case. i have iphone 4 which is still in immaculate condition after using it for couple of years. i do not keep my phone in my pocket. i have many friends facing the same problem and the videos on youtube reconfirm the same. which is why i had insisted on getting a replacement in white color as it does not have any coating on it. the quality is detoriating. we put in our hard earn money to buy expensive smart phones and what u get is a sub standard product. NOT ACCEPTABLE

coating of the black iphone 5 wears off. customer care as an exception replaced the phone. requested them to replace with the white iphone as black phone has an issue. after getting a replacepment the coating came off within 2 months of usage.

hi i have a iphone 5 in black and i brought it about a week ago of one /of my best mates it was in a sealed box not opened and all the black anodising is like coming off will apple cover this on my warranty? and replace it or fix it

Iphone 5 - Black colour peeling off

Dear All,
I have brought an iPhone 5 black colour from Mumbai (India), few months back (Still under warannty).
Off late I have been observing that iphone body clour is being peeled off..Overall iPhone looks ugly because of this. We can see a lot of white sopts on phone and it looks as if the phone is 2-3 years old.
I had logged an complain with Apple support, who suggested me to show the phone to Authorized service center in Mumbai.
Apple authorized service center in Mumbai (Rahul Commerce) kept phone my phone for a week and later infomred me that nothing can be done, this is a known fault.
My question to readers and Apple is if this is a known defect what is the solution? Has anyone else faced similar issues and what action has been taken.
I want to take this matter with higher ups at Apple, every penny paid should be worth it. Besides Apple is known for its perfection, which is missing here.
Would be great if I am helped with escalation matrix - E:mails where I can write to seeking an answer in Apple.

Black ink coming off of pictures

Hello..
I have a new 8500 premium inkjet all in one printer. I have found that when we print pictures using HP Advanced Photo Paper the black ink rubs off extremely easily ruining the pictures.. We are using the HP ink that was initially included with the new machine.. Is this a known issue? How can this be corrected?

Touch Pad Button Paint or Coating coming off

Hey all,
I just got brand new T410 about two weeks ago and I love it except I have just recently noticed that the paint or coating on the touchpad buttons is already wearing off. What is my course of action, I dont really feel like shipping the computer in to lenovo to get fixed cause I use it for work and dont feel like risking any shipping mishaps, is this something that can replaced easily by myself and lenovo can send me the two buttons, or does the whole touchpad unit need to be replaced? Thanks for the help

can you post a picture of this? There shouldn't be any paints as such that can wear off on the Touchpad buttons.
If it is in need of replacement, it has to be done at the depot or onsite by a technician (if you have onsite warranty), since the T410 palmrest is one fixed unit with the keyboard bezel....

Black "finish" coming off!/ that annoying "ping" under the keyboard

I have two separate issues with my MacBook (black) that I purchased about 2 mos. ago.
1) I'm hearing a "ping" or "tink" at regular intervals (20-30 sec.) under the right side of the keyboard, sort of near the "delete key" area. I noticed some other people have posted a similar issue, but I didn't see a consensus answer as to what is going on.
2) Apparently, the black finish of the MacBook is covered by some sort of clear filmy material...and, mine is beginning to peel off (at the seam on the right corner..just to the right of where my hands rest). I can only assume this will continue. Great.
Anyone else having these problems? I actually went to the "Genius Bar" this morning for help. My plastic-disengagement was the first case of it the fellow had seen. And, unfortunately, I don't think he properly heard the "ping" noise (as he had to go listen in the back of the store where it wasn't so noisy, and I wasn't readily available to point out what i was talking about). He may have thought I was just bothered by normal program start-up nosies. This "ping" noise is like water torture if you're working in a quiet library office.

Yeah, I'll probably wait a little bit to return to the Genius Bar, or take it to another Apple store. I'm pretty sure the "ping"/"boink" noise wasn't an issue in the first month of use.
He did make a record of the situation with the finish. I assume this goes into my apple care record and maybe some general database of "things we need to work on." I asked what I should do if this continued (with the fear that it probably would). He said to bring it back to the store. I'm not sure what Apple would do in that case. If/when I get to that stage, I'll update. I just wasn't sure if this was a possible problem b/c this is a new-ish finish.

Help with coating coming off Apple Studio Monitor (17")

This morning the coating has just started to rub off a CRT screen monitor, making it unusable - the monitor is working fine otherwise, and we don't want to throw it away! Can anyone suggest anything to now clean all the coating off with?

Try a product called "GOO GONE". It works on all sorts of sticky substances. It's citrus based and works wonderfully.
Just apply it to a small limited area first, as with anything new, to test its safety. But I've used it on a variety of plastics and NEVER had it cause any damage.

Phone was given to me by apple 2 weeks ago. Last I saw of it working was phone was off so i did the quick reset. Apple logo came up, it started up and keypad for passcode came up. It said 2% battery then went up to 64% a second later. When I was playing wth it not 5mins before it was at 65% so would make sence that later indication was correct. Before I could type the 4 digit passcode in the phone turned off to black screen. Now I have tried all possible reset options incuding the 10 second hold down of both buttons for less than 10 seconds and longer than 10 seconds. Nothing is working. iTunes is not recognising the device at all. Ive had it plugged into a wall socket for three hours and the computer for 2 hours and no signal of life. Ive tried the forums on here and the youtube vidoes and seem to know what im doing with resets. Anyone able to shed some light?

Not being able to get DFU Mode indicates hardware failure. Since you recently received this iPhone from Apple it has at a minimum 90 day Warranty. Make Genius reservation or make service arrangements and take or send to Apple for resolution. Regarding what is actually wrong with the iPhone, it could be possibility of several things. But some of the features point directly to battery. First step in fixing this iPhone would be battery replacement. Then trouble-shooting from there if still problem. Take it to Apple.

The black coating on the top left of my MBP Retina 13" late 2013 is wearing off. I also seem to be getting small dots on the screen: Are these what are being called "pixel explosions". Why are these things happening? As there does not seem to be any cure for this and I do not have Applecare, can anyone tell me the kind of replacement costs involved?

Oh no! It sounds like you may have a hardware issue with your computer. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like the warranty on your MacBook Pro may have already expired. Either your battery is failing or your battery gauge needs to be recalibrated. Start by recalibrating:
When it shuts off charge for just a minute or two, then restart (hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears). Deliberately run the battery down until the phone shuts off at 1%. If it shuts off above 1% repeat the above until you get to 1%. Then charge for 4 hours with the wall charger without using the phone. This process will recalibrate the battery gauge.
To prevent this from happening again about once a month run the battery all the way down to 1%, then continue until the phone shuts off. Apple recommends this in their battery help article, but they don't say why you should do it. The have some hokum about "keeping the electrons moving." Honestly! The iPad battery tip gives the correct reason.
If this does not resolve the problem you most likely need a new battery. If you are near an Apple store take the phone in and they can test the battery for you.
