Iphone 5 callback display issue

Hi everyone,
I am new iphone 5 (Black, 32GB, ios 6.0.1) user. I recently find out something weird with my iphone. I tried to call somebody and the line was busy.
So, i tried to call back that person by hitting the "callback" button that is on the screen. the display suddenly jumped to the call screen with numbers (Screen that usually appear when we want to make a call, the one under the "keypad" tab)  while the call was on the background. I was confused, So i pressed the home button and saw that on the upper screen of the phone there was a green bar showing that the call was on process and statement "touch to get back to the call screen".
I tried several times and experienced the same thing again. restore the os doesnt change anything. whenever i tried to callback, the display always went back to display with numbers under "keypad" tab. Has anyone encounter this problem? Please help me on this. If the problem exists, I might consider to return it to apple for replacement.

Help!  I had this same problem with my Iphone 4 and just got a new Iphone 5S and it still doesn't recognize it.  Image Capture doesn't recognize my phone or the scanner on my printer.  I spent 2 days on the phone with HP and they did everything they could think of so it has to be my Macbook.  The scan feature works fine on my phone and ipad.  I am thinking these two could be related?
Anyway, I have tried brand new apple cables and still no success.  Any ideas?
Thanks!!!

my iphone5 has serious display issues . wil it be replaced .? i stil hav a month left in my warranty period.

iPhone warranty/support, except for the EU, is limited to country of original purchase. If you're in the EU, & purchased your phone in any EU country, you're OK. Otherwise, you'll have to return the phone to Apple in the country where you originally purchased, and you can't mail the phone to Apple. You must physically deliver it.

I have an iphone 4s that is having display issues. If I turn the phone on, it vibrates to acknowledge it successfully turned on but the screen stays solid black. I can plug the phone into my computer and itunes will recognize the phone as well. However, itunes can not do anything with the phone because the phone is locked and I can not unlock the phone because the screen is black.
    >CURVEBALL!!!<
The screen does work though! Through trial and error along side a little troubleshooting, I was able to figure out that the screen will cut on after the phone dies completely. The phone has to die completely with no battery power left. Then if I plug the phone into a charge and wait a while for it to charge, the phone will turn on like nothing was ever even wrong with it. I charge the phone up to like 30% and turn it off then bam the phone turns on but the screen is solid black again.
I am currently in the process of waiting for the phone to die and when I turn the phone back on I am going to completely remove the auto-lock and lock code off of the phone for the time being.
    Any other suggestions? Please help!

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

  • IPhone 4 Calendar Entries: List Display Issue

I believe a derivation of this issue has been posted a handful of times already, but I wanted to add to the pile in the hopes that Apple addresses a calendar bug. My iPhone 4 is running OS 4.2.1, and I sync my calendar with Microsoft Outlook 2007 via a PC.
Recently I've noticed that when changing time zones, the "List" view of my iPhone calendar has trouble displaying the proper date of appointments when they are entered or changed in the iPhone directly. Two "Tue Nov 30 2010" gray bars will suddenly appear, for example, and previously entered appointments for that date will scatter amongst these two sections haphazardly.
Interestingly enough, when clicking into "Day" or "Month," these entered appointments will display properly. It appears, then, that this issue is only present in the "List" view.
Somewhat bizarrely, these sections in the "List" view will compress back into one (as normal) when the offending appointment is deleted on the iPhone. Moreover, when new appointments are entered via Outlook and synced with the iPhone, the calendar displays as normal in "List" view.
This issue has plagued my phone for a handful of months now when I transition time zones, but only recently has it not reset itself upon syncing with my computer. This leads me to believe that the issue may have been exacerbated by OS 4.2.1. For what it's worth, time zone support is "off" on my phone (meaning appointments display in local time).
Any help you can provide with this issue is appreciated.

Good to hear that I am not alone.
I have the same problem (for some time now, not just 4.2.1). I have tried deleting my calendar and resynching with Exchange with a reboot in between (as suggested in another problem report), but that does not help.
For me the problem started when I started bidirectional synching with Exchange (updates on iPhone are sent to server and updates on server are sent to iPhone, immediately in both directions) -- as if the iPhone calendar list search does not work well because the entries are "remote" (actually stored on Exchange server?).
There are similar quirks with Contacts but Calendar List Search is unusable!

  • IPhone 3g baterry bar display issue?

Well, I recently got a replacement for my 3g, and ever since then, the battery bar is acting up. The problem that Im experiencing is that the battery is going from being fully charged, to loosing around 1/10 of the battery display within maybe 5 minutes of me taking it of the charger...
    < Important>
I know it's a display issue and not an acutal bettery problem, Since it gets the same use and still gets me through the day, and gets the same ammount if use.
    <\importance>
I did a Fresh restore this morning and nothing, still the same issue, I'm going to recalibrate the battery today after school, but want some Tips or something to try out in the case that it doesn't work... If not, back to the apple store for a third time In a week lol...

I am having a similar problem here, the bar acts funny but when it reaches 60% it stays allot longer, tho it can decrease from 100% to 90% just like that when I remove it from recharge

  • PDF Document Display Issue - iPad Mini iOS 8.1

I use my iPad heavily doing in-home sales. I rely on a combination of Box, PDF Expert, and Notability to retrieve and create information/documents.
After updating my iPad Mini to iOS 8, I started having a display issue when trying to pull up my pricebook in front of a client from Box, where I've always pulled that document from. It showed me one page, and the rest were blank. I opened it in PDF Expert, thinking it was a Box issue - and this time the document was blurry. Being a good stubborn Irishman, I whipped out my iPhone 4 and opened the document fine in Box.
Afterwards, I download DROPBOX, opened the file in iBooks, deleted applications and re-installed them - all with varying challenges and 0 results. The same document opens up great in my iPhone, just will no longer work correctly on my iPad Mini.
    Anyone else having this issue?

    Hey there Haparari,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPad is in recovery mode after running into an issue updating it to the latest version of iOS with iTunes on your computer. Take a look at the article linked below, it provides troubleshooting suggestions that’ll generally resolve that specific alert message that you’re seeing.
Resolve iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

  • Remote Desktop Client 8.1.3 Display Issue

We're running Microsoft Remote Desktop 2012R2 services including a Gateway/Connection Broker/Licensing server and  Remote Desktop Session Hosts servers.  Our clients include Windows systems, iPads and iPhones.
Since the upgrade to Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for IOS 8.1.3 (which fixed our gateway connection issues using the previous 8.1.x IOS clients), we're still unable to use our iPads with a published application that runs a time clock to check
    children in/out of daycare centers.
When launching the published application, the display does not scale to full screen.  A portion of the screen contains a black bar around the bottom and to the right of the window.  The touch control needed is hidden by
the black bar.  This issue did not exist in clients prior to 8.1.x nor does it exist in Windows clients.
Using the Pan Control does not resolve the issue.  If you activate the Pan control, the application is so magnified that you only see about 1/4th of the upper left of the screen.  Moving the window around or pinch to zoom in/out does not resolve
    the issue.
Note that we have also published Microsoft Office 2010, Adobe Reader, Calculator and network share folders.  None of these apps experience the issue with a black bar hiding a portion of the application window.
    Any suggestions?

Hi Dharmesh - Yes, we did reinstall the RD 8.1.3 IOS client on our iPads a few times.  And to answer your question, we are using a childcare software from the following company:
    http://www.procaresoftware.com/
Microsoft Office 2010 as a published application appears to be functioning correctly with the iPads, although it hasn't been extensively tested.  Most of our remote desktop Office users are on Windows 7 systems.
I've notified the Procare Software technical support team of this iPad issue and they forwarded the information on to their developers.  They are releasing an updated version of their software some time in the next week.  They have enhanced
the resizing / rotation support for tablets in the next upgrade release, but are unsure whether our iPad display issue will be resolved.
If the issue is not resolved by the upgrade, they suggest we seek a resolution from Microsoft.  In the meantime, Procare stated that I could share this information with you.  They're also copied on this forum to keep up with your comments.
Note:  After we install the future upgrade of Procare Software, I'll report back here with the results.
    Regards.

  • IPhone doesn't display song lyrics

Since last iOS update (4.3.3) my iPhone doesn't  display song lyrics anymore. That is, it displays only when I switch back to the album cover view and back to the lyrics view. When the next song starts, again only album cover art remains visible with the scrolling bar at the top, but lyrics is missing. Tap once to remove scrolling bar at the top, tap again and both scrolling bar and lyrics appear. And so for almost all tracks. Last iOS update to 4.3.4 didn't change anything here. Any ideas?

when ? - maybe with next firmware upgrade? - I don't perceive this as a hardwared issue, but a firmware update issue? would you agree?

  • Itunes on my iPhone 5 only displays the artist list with the UP NEXT feature.  How can I change the UP NEXT feature on my iPhone 5 to display the next songs that are to be played on my play list?

Itunes on my iPhone 5 only displays the artist list with the UP NEXT feature.  How can I change the UP NEXT feature on my iPhone 5 to display the next songs that are to be played on my play list?

    Hi Sarah,
It sounds like the songs have either not yet synced over to the iPhone, or something went wrong when attempting to sync to the iPhone. My recommendation is to uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox.
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.
If the above does not resolve your issue, see the following articles:

  • My iphone automatically locked and it does not open again, but if u call the sim that was inserted you will hear that it was active,so please help me how to open my iphone 4,no display appeared if you touch the switch button

my iphone automatically locked and it does not open again, but if u call the sim that was inserted you will hear that it was active,so please help me how to open my iphone 4,no display appeared if you touch the switch button,

    Hello arlyn-cavite,
If the screen is not showing anyting when you press any of the buttons you may want to try these steps.
From article iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • IPhone 5 randomly  displays 'no sim' with iOS 7.1

Ever since I upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1 I have had this issue.  Sporatically through the day my iPhone 5 will display 'no sim'.  My phone can not make or receive calls until I do a complete power cycle.  This issue only began with iOS 7.1.   Is this a hardware issue or a operating system issue that Apple needs to address?

    Hello, Yfoog.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

How do I get my iphone 4 to display the name of an incoming caller?  It just stopped working all of a sudden.

I suggest contacting your carrier, typically if there is an issue with caller id its an issue with the carrier.

  • HT4623 Contacting the iPhone activation server display

I waited 10 hours for ios 7.02 to download. Then up comes,'Contacting the iPhone activation server' display....for 5 hours! What am I supposed to do? Do I disconnect from iTumes and carry on? Or stay connected and wait til it contacts the iPhone activation server?

  • 10.5.6 Update USELESS!!! External Display Issues Still remain!

The external display issues remain, even after installing the update.
    I'm sick of this!
Is it a hardware issue or software related?
Are the 9600 graphics chips defective?
Come on Apple and be honest to your customers, we all paid a lot of money for these systems!
Does anyone out there know where can I complain to?
I need an email address or something that is not directed at iphones or ipods!
    Cheers.

I'm not sure what to make of this at this point. I ordered a CTO 2.8GHz with 4GB RAM and 320GB HD the day they were announced. First week or so, few if any problems. Then the "UHF" like bands of static began to appear randomly. I use my computer 90% of the time driving an external monitor. I use a separate set up at home and work with duplicates of all cables. The problem occurs on both. I spoke with Apple Care - they patched me over to support and moved me up to Tier one pretty quick, even had me send in my System Profiler information for every combination of screen and graphics card. Then they emailed me a program to capture my monitor info again with every combination of screen and graphics card. No solution. They finally asked to "capture" my computer for their labs and sent me a new one.
Once again, about 2 1/2 weeks of smooth sailing and bam, same issues now occurring. If it's a driver issue, why is everything fine for so long? Also, 10.5.6 and the new firmware have failed to address. Given my above exchanges with Apple, they certainly can't claim they don't know about it.
I've been using Apple Products for a long time. I've seen some real buggy stuff - like when File Vault first came out but this is the worst I've experienced. Seems like poor quality control. If it's a select few machines, I appear to have won the lottery as I've had two of them.
I'm sure this issue is much more wide spread as it is a non-issue if you only use the internal display. Only people consistently driving an external display will even know there is a problem.
