IPhone 5 Camera Flash mis-timed

Hi,
I have been testing my camera (playing) and the camera flash seems to be mis-timed.
When taking a picture, the flash 'flashes' like normal but when the picture is actually taken the flash has already 'flashed'
I don't suppose anyone has any thoughts on this?
Thanks

Not sure if this is the same issue but my iphone 5 kept taking really blurry/smoky looking photos when the flash was used. It turns out it was because I hadn't taken the clear protective film off the back of the phone so the flash was blurring on the film!! Hope this helps

  • Iphone 5 camera flash - over exposes

My iphone 5 32mb camera flash isn't working as it should. When it's on or on auto it over exposes the photo - any ideas? Is there a setting I need to change? I've searched high and low and can't find anything relevant on the phone. It's really annoying as I use the phone a lot for pictures and it can't be used at night or in a darkened situation at all!  Not what I expect from a £600 smartphone!

Like any point-and-shoot camera, the flash on the iPhone is of limited utility. You paid 600 pounds for a smartphone which is not the same thing as paying 600 pounds for a camera. You are never going to get the same results you would with a DSLR. You will get the best results by turning on more lights when possible. If you need to use the flash, be sure not to get too close to your subjects as it will wash them out. You might also try using an app like Camera+. It does a nice job enhancing pictures that were taken in low light and are too dark.

  • IPhone 5c camera flash

    dear repective sir
last week purchase ipnone 5c today face some problem on my handset camera flash not working ,what i do ? plz suggest me .

    Hello szpryczek,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot issues with your iPhone camera, please follow the steps below.
    Camera
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
If the issue persists after the previous steps, please click the link below to contact Apple Support.

  • Iphone 4s camera flash stuck on

    camera flash is stuck on

Unfortunately I had to buy a new one...took it to the apple store and paid $200 for a replacement...not wonderful, but not bad considering it is a 64g.  They looked in it and saw that it came in contact with water, which is highly plausible with my three year old.

  • IOS6 / iPhone5 camera flash bad timing

    Hi,
I'm finding that when using the camera in the dark with the flash turned on that the timing for the flash vs when the picture is taken is off, the flash flashes, but appears to finish its flash right before the picture is taken, leaving me with a mainly dark picture.

I too had this problem. I called apple and they have bad this problem sometimes not just with the iPhone 5 at first bu when the 4s came out also. This is what worked for me....go into settings general reset and choose reset all settings. Then restore your iphone from back up. Just make sure u sync your phone and right click on it in iTunes and select back up. Once my phone restored from back up it fixes whatever firmware issue there was with the flash timing relay or whatever the apple guy called it. Hope this works. Pretty easy fix took less than 10 mins total.

  • Iphone 5 Camera Flash Misfire

Been using the camera lately and noticed the flash is mis firing.....ive tried taking pictures with flash both set to "Auto" and then just "On"  in both cases the camera took pictures in medium light conditions and produced darker images. i can see the flash go off and i can see the screen show a nice looking picture but the camera snaps the picture after the flash has gone off and produces a darker image then im originally trying to shoot. i hope this will be an easy fix with an ios update until then ill only be shooting pictures with sufficiant light.

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps...  Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • IPhone 5 - camera flash

The timing appears to be out on the flash... I have iphone5 32gb black , when I take a pic in the dark the flash lights up the pic appears to be taken too long after and the pic is virtually completely black.
If i go into video mode all works great so presume its a flash timing issue?
    Hardware or software fault?
    Regards
    Pingu

I read this in another post and it workes perfect.    Hold down on the home button and the sleep bottom at the same time until you see the apple logo once it reboots you are in business

i downloaded acdsee camera flash (us$0.99) in Hong Kong's app store, but i cannot find it in the app store after i changed to another iphone. it seems that the app is no longer available in HK, how can I get back the app?

First make sure you are searching the name correctly.
If the app is no longer in the App Store it is no longer available for download. This happens when Apple has found the app violates the agreement with the developer or when the developer no longer wants the app listed in the App Store.
If the app is truly no longer in the App Store your only option is to copy it from iTunes on the computer you normall sync with.

  • Camera flash of iphone 4s not working

Camera flash of iphone is not working can not take a picture with flash??
    Please suggest a solution.

If you bring up the shortcut bar from the button of the screen by swiping upwards, can you switch the torch function on and off?
Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?
You will not lose data by resetting.
Did you make sure that the flash is activated in the camera app? Did you try to switch it off, take a photo and switch it back on again?
To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the camera. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:
