IPHONE 5 CHARGERS AND ADAPTERS?

This is RIDICULOUS!!
I live in Oahu (HI) and I just purchased the iPhone 5 the other day and I bought the otterbox case for it as well. Then I left ATT smiling but then today I broke the thunder and lightning charger by stepping on it. Now here's my dilemma, I went all over the island to find another charger or even an adapter but to my dismay there aren't any, anywhere on this rock. Is there a problem like this for anybody else please let me know!
p.s.
I would ask for a text or a call for any help but by tomorrow morning it's going to be off until they ship some accessories to the nearest Apple retailer.
DANGIT!!!!!

You should have taken them to Apple if they were defective to have them replaced under warranty. The charger/cord are covered. So, from what I can read here, it is not the chargers that are going bad, it is the cords? Since you put the cords in another charger and they did not work. I suggest taking them to Apple.

Clean the dock connector with a soft dry brush.

  • IPhone 4 Bumper and Older Chargers

Before you get a bumper you should know it does not connect with some older chargers. The ones where the connection to your iPhone is twice as thick as the newer versions. My old iPhone home charger and car charger will not fit with the bumper on. The new one provided works though. They work if you take the bumper off of course.

It is not possible to confirm that an adapter is genuine by inspecting its exterior, and inspecting the interior to identify engineering shortcomings that differ from Apple's design destroys the power adapter.
Many counterfeit adapters can be identified through obvious misspellings on their case, but the only way to be absolutely certain you are using a genuine Apple power adapter is to purchase it from Apple or an authorised Apple reseller. Counterfeit and potentially dangerous power adapters bearing fraudulent consumer product safety agency approval markings are very common.

  • I bought an iPhone charger 3 months back its covering has torn out again. I had the same problem with my previous chargers and now this has started getting on my nerves. Why do your chargers suck so much, and why on earth don't do you guys anything?

I mean seriously, stop working on your earplugs and look at the cheap quality of your chargers. I'm really really disappointed with apple. I have always loved apple and been an i-gadget freak but your chargers just bring my spirit down. GO WORK ON YOUR CHARGERS AND MAKE THEM STRONGER. Because even you know that apple's going down now and if you still have these shrude means of giving away cheap chargers so you can make more money (by making people replace them every once in a while) then you're gonna fall down to the ground because there are better phones and you have competition.

  • I have an Iphone 5c that wont power on, I have tried the chargers and cables and they work fine so I now beleive it is the phone

My iphone 5c has no battery life left and is unable to charge, there for unable to power on, I have tried the chargers and cables which all work fine in other devices, I am now stuck with a dead iphone5c that I need fixed

Am also having this problem. Daughter's iPhone 5c failed completely the other week after experiencing the same problem. We had a replacement phone provided that I picked up on Friday, and still have exactly the same issue with charging.
Have bought a brand new Apple Lightening cable but no joy - when switching on the phone the battery is showing as dead with an image of the lightening cable (assume this means it wants a cable plugging on). No joy with any other cables, all of which incidentally work on my own iPad Air.
Strange as well that this started happening once the IOS8.3 upgrade was loaded. With my iPad, I have not upgraded the IOS and it works fine.
So unsure if it is a software or a hardware issue. I've tried rebooting by holding the Home and On-Off switches, tried connecting it to iTunes which doesn't show the phone nor does the computer recognise it as an external device.
Really am tearing what's left of my hair out with this one - have already had three visits to the Apple Store at the Trafford Centre and can't face another......help!!!!!

Probably when you dropped it something inside the phone broke too.

Sounds like it is time to take it back to Apple and ask them to repair it for you.

What has Apple told you when you took it in all three times?

  • My Iphone 4 won't charge. I began noticing it yesterday but I ignored it. Now the phone is dead. I've had it plugged up to my computer all day and it says that it is charging but hasn't cut on yet. I've used many different chargers and none of them work.

If the same when using the included power adaptor, there may be a hardware problem with the battery. Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

Your phone needs repair, or you can try changing the cable you're using.

The Home button is broken and I don't know if the Lock/Sleep button is now broken or stuck as well. I believe there may be a problem with the battery or the backlight. I've had my screen replaced once by some stooges. What should I do?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it  says place the iPod in recoverymode use one of these programs.
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Lighting cables and adapters are not working after the last iOS 7 update.

Looking for some help from Apple here. After the last iOS 7 update, some of my lightning cables and adapters have stopped working.
I have an iPhone 5 funning iOS 7.0.2.
I have a car charger/FM RF transmitter that has worked like a charm for years. Because none of these have been made with a lighting connector, I've had a genuine Apple adapter on it since I bought my iPhone 5 a year ago. Never had a problem until the last iOS update. Now when I plug it in, not connection is registered. I've verified the charger is working by removing the adapter and plugging the old iPhone connecting into an iPhone 4 running iOS 6. I've also verified the adapter is working by plugging the charger with adapter into an iPad mini running iOS 6.
I also have a Belkin USB car charger. This came with a black lighting cable. Also worked like a charm until the last update. Now, half the file when I plug it in, no conncetion is registered. The other half of the time, it says this cable is not supported but does not connect my phone or charge it. I've also verified that the cable is working by plugging it into an iPad mini running iOS 6.

I had the same bug. Powering off the phone and back on resolved the issue

  • My iphone 4s connects and disconnects (repeatedly) when connected to my computer

my iphone 4s connects and disconnects (repeatedly) when connected to my computer, it works perfectly fine when connected to regular chargers, everytime i connect it to my computer it shows the charging symbol and then disconnects and reconnects in less then a second, it will repeat this process forever unless disconnected, sometimes it works perfectly fine and most of the times it does the same thing, I know for a fact its not the wire because i recently bought an ipad mini with retina and its usb is new, it worked with the retina for a day or two and then it kept connecting and disconecting repeatedly, my computer is two months old and i have new hardware in that machine, is it a problem in the usb power fluctuation? i am currently using windows 8.1 and i need solutions, this is super annoying, all my other devices work perfectly fine with the usb ports, all my usbs (2.0 and 3.0) do the connecting and disconnecting sometimes it even works ,what is the problem?

  • IPhone 5 chargers

I can't believe how useless these chargers actually are, and they ain't cheap either. I had my phone in December and the charger broke in
March. I've had to turn to a cheap charger which can damage your phone because even though my phone is still in warranty they still wouldn't change my charger.

Do you have a technical support question?  Ranting and carrying on is not permitted by the Terms of Use.
Since the chargers and cables carry the same warranty as the iPhone, why wouldn't you have just returned the 3 month old charger to Apple for replacement?
