i only find out when people ring me back
my phone is always locked when not being used

You're probably activating siri by accident and it mistakes what you're saying/background noise and calls people.

Hi guys!
I have an iPhone 3GS and my issue is that when I play music whenever I go to switching to a different app or locking the phone the music (podcasts) pause for a second or two and then begin playing again.
Has anyone had this issue before and knows any suggestions on how to fix the issue?

Hi, I had the same problem. Now, I know you said not to reply if I was gonna say that the headphones are in correctly; but I had the same problem and it worked. Push them in as far as they go! It works! You may have thought you tried that (I did too),but one day I was ****** that it didn't work, and I pushed them in as hard as they could, and now when it goes into the black screen mode, the music keeps playing, I'm sorry if it doesn't work for you, but it worked for me and all my friends. I figured that was the case, but I've used the same passcode for years and I can't seem to figure out how I managed to screw it up when I set up my phone. Without being able to access my phone for a restore, how would I accomplish this? iTunes? Thank you very much for you help!

OK, I think I fixed it.
After trying to restore with an old backup from the phone (it estimated it would take 4 hours) I cancelled and went through the setup menus again, but set it up as a new phone. It then appeared in iTunes and I restored it from the computer, not the phone. It appears to be working, it's syncing my old apps right now.
Summary:
1. Reset settings on phone (hopefully you backed up fairly recently)
2. Set up as NEW iPhone in setup menu on phone
3. Restore from iTunes on computer when it recognizes the phone
4. Cross fingers

Are you hiding your network identification (SSID)? If you are doing that, it is a pretty common complaint. In either case, the fix is about the same:
Fix 1
When you are connected to your network, tap Settings > WiFi > and then tap the blue ">" next to the network name with the check mark.
The next screen will give you your connection information. Scroll until you find "Forget this Network" and tap that.
That should return you to the Settings > WiFi page. Tap Other, and then re-enter your network name, security, and network password.
Fix 2
tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Your Network Settings
When the iPhone restarts, tap Settings > WiFi > Other and re-enter your network name, security, and network password.
Fix 3 - if all else fails
Reboot your router (uun plug it from it's power source).

my son had this problem. I went to the apple store and they wiped out and restored the phone.. They said that was all they could do but that I should call our phone carrier and ask them. I did. They asked if in the top left side, next to battery power there was a icon of a half moon. There was. They said to go in to settings and go to "Do not Disturb" and turn it off. I did.....problem solved!!! Somehow "do not disturb" was turned on and that is what happens if it is!!

Try resetting >

You have to restore it using a computer with iTunes per the knowledge base article above.
With iOS 7, if you have Find My Phone turned on you can login to iCloud from a computer and send an erase signal to the iPhone to clear it...that will erase all content and settings.

Do a search in this forum about forgot passcode or phone is disabled because of forgotten passcode.
See how many threads there are for that, now imagine if what you want happens, how many threads do you think we will have about not remember the passcode.
Bad idea.
