Iphone 5 Discontinued what happens to Applecare+on it?

What's going to happen to my Iphone 5 with applecare+ if i have to replace it and iphone 5 is discontinued?

Are you sure?
I have an iphone 5 and the 5C is basically an uglyfied iphone 5 with hideous colors and a marginally improved battery life...maybe and I surely won't ever want it over my iphone 5 that I still love....I am worried that iOS 8 will skip the iphone 5 but come to the iphone 5c instead, though I can't see for the life of me why it would.
I've never heard of anything less than at least 2 iOS yearly big upgrades per generation.
What do you think?

  • HT204264 iDevice Sync Query - IOS Photos & iCloud Photo Library over filling ipad iphone storage - what happens next?

Device Sync Query - IOS Photos & iCloud Photo Library fills ipad iphone storage - what happens next?
Quick question, when you select IOS Photo / IiCloud storage (photos are optimised etc) what happens when ipad / iphone storage is full and you now need to add new apps, photos etc?  In my case I have  3 * 64gb ipads & 2 * 128 gb iphone but these are all filling up with photos since enabling IOS Photo &  iCloud Photo Library (as all of my photos on each device are now copbined on every device as well as the cloud).  This has become a problem as when I try to sync my idevice I get the device full warning (and I am assuming I now need to delete apps / videos if I want to sync or make more space for new photos etc). As far as I can tell once you enable IOS Photos and iCloud all photos will upload at original resolution and download at idevice resolution and there is no way to select / control the photos you want to keep on phone  (eg if you delete photo on phone it will now delete the original on cloud).
    Couple of questions / Suggestions:
    - Will IOS Photos on IOS device  automatically lower resolution of pics or use thumbnails for old photos that are already in icloud to ensure that there is space on device for new photos,  apps videos music etc. Eg will old photos that have already been uploaded in icloud be replaced by new apps videos music etc (not sure that the IOS Sync or iCloud currently does this)
    - Is there away to limit control or limit the number of IOS photos that sync to each idevice (eg by starring photos)? I had a look and can not see away to select photos you want to keep or remove (without deleting them on cloud).  As per above I am hoping that the IOS sync and icloud systems are smart enough to replace Photos that have already upgraded to cloud with a lower quality / thumbnail to make more more room for new photos and apps (but not clear if this occurs)
    - If this is a problem now what happens once the new PHOTOS launches for OS Desktop eg will it add in all our photos from iphoto to the icloud then to the idevice as part of the OS PHOTOS UPGRADE. I have 15-30 gb of photos in IPHOTO that are now backing up to icloud, there needs to be away to only select starred photos or albums or every photo try to download to my iphone (which will kill my storage). There also needs to be away to keep photos on idevice (for those times when you do not have internet and can not download from iCloud to iDevice
Apologies if I have missed something obvious and welcome any thoughts & answers.
If there is no solution then Apple needs to look at this and highlight it as a risk to customers who switch as this is being sold as a way to minimise your device storage but can lead to to customers using up more  storage for photos on ipad iphone as a result of switch to IOS PHOTOS &
    iCloud Photo Library

Things are not as dire as they might seem at first glance. My 66GB iPhoto Library became a 40GB iCloud Photo Library (~11K photos, ~300 videos) and only uses 2.2GB on my iPad and 2.4GB on my iPhone. Scaling that experience, a 64GB/128GB iOS device should be able to easily handle a 300GB iPhoto library. My iPad and iPhone are 32GB devices and I expect them to be livable through at least 30-40K of photos.
16GB devices have always been problematic for space even before iCloud Photo Library so I'd expect anybody with a 16GB device and more than a few thousand photos is not going to be able to use iCloud Photo Library with it. They will have to use iCloud Photo Streaming to get photos to iCloud Photo Library and iCloud Photo Sharing or iTunes syncing to get a subset of photos back to the device. Not a great solution but workable. However, it wrecks one of the best features for me which is using my iPad to edit the photos I take on my iPhone.
The part that worries me is the automatic space management routine. The problem it creates is that I might want to add a movie, but there won't be enough space, and my only option will be to reset iCloud Photo Library on the device to get back to all thumbnails on it to see if that gets me the space I need. I've already had to do it a couple of times with iTunes Match and it's not fun. It all depends on how aggressive Photo Library will be in trimming off full-size photos/videos and Apple appears to be leaving it a black box at this point. It would at least be nice to know an estimate of the minimum size so I know how much space I can recapture.

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
    and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
    Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

  • IPhone 5 what happened to the battery!

Took my iPhone to the apple store as I was having an issue with the mic it was intermittently not picking up so they said the only thing they could do for now is put iOS 7 on my phone I have been holding back for weeks I really don't like the look of it but thought if it solves the issue then I will have to get over it, I use my iPhone as my satnav as well and when I went to the store I had around 85% plenty to do what I needed to do and get me home again with around 50% left is the usual for the length of drive however after driving home again It suddenly went down to 10% what happened to the battery life?? I can't walk around with a generator in my pocket to keep it charged I then made my usual phone call at night which lasted 2 1/2 hours and normally I would be looking around using 30% tonight I used almost 80%!

recalibrate the battery, let it completely drain out to where the phone shuts off and then fully charge it without using it.
here are some other tips http://osxdaily.com/2013/09/19/ios-7-battery-life-fix/

  • Exchanging 3GS for 4 -- What happens to Applecare?

I bought my 3GS & AppleCare from an AT&T store on May 16th. I now know I probably shouldn't have, but I registered AppleCare that same day.
I went to AT&T today and they allowed me to pre-order the iPhone4. Then when I pick it up, I'll return my 3GS (box, headset, charger too), despite today being the last day of my 30-day refund period.
So what will happen to my AppleCare? The AT&T employees keep telling me that it will be transferable to the new iPhone, but everywhere else online is telling me that it's not transferable.
What should my next step be?

The AT&T employees keep telling me that it will be transferable to the new iPhone
There are absolutely wrong. As already stated, Applecare is tied to the device. You can request a refund for the unused portion or transfer to a new owner:

If you cancel more than thirty (30) days after your receipt of this Plan, you will receive a pro rata refund of the original purchase price, based on the percentage of unexpired Coverage Period, less (a) a cancellation fee of twenty-five ($25 USD) dollars or ten percent (10%) of the pro-rata amount, whichever is less, and (b) the value of any service provided to you under the Plan. Unless applicable local law provides otherwise, Apple may cancel this Plan if service parts for the Covered Equipment become unavailable, upon thirty (30) daysʼ prior written notice. • Lost/stolen iphone 5, what happens to my imessage accounts on my other devices?

I have lost/had stolen my iphone 5 and will have to therefore get it replaced.
As it may well have been stolen I think I am going to erase all the data on the phone via the 'find my iphone' app.
My first question is, having erased the data on the phone, will all of my contacts on my imessage account on my laptop and ipad be retained?
Secondly, whilst I wait for my replacement phone to arrive, will I still be able to use my imessage on my laptop and ipad despite not having my phone anymore?
Finally , will I be able to keep the same phone number with my new iphone?
Quite a few questions there I know..Any help would be really, really appreciated!
    Many thanks,
    George

Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
What to do if your iOS device is lost or stolen
Yes, you can use Messages on your laptop and iPad and they should be retained.
You will have to check with your carrier in regards to your phone number.

  • TS2776 Hello. I attempted to sync my iPhone this morning and get updates. I can no longer access anything on it now. No contacts, no phone (emergency only), no apps, etc. Its a grey screen that simply says iPhone.  What happened and how do I retrieve ever

Hello, I attempted to sync my iPhone and get updates. Something went wrong. There is now only a grey screen that simply displays "iPhone" and then leads me to Location services to either enable or disable  or to choosing a WiFi network. I have a MIFI, but cannot rememer the password. How do I get back to my phone (I can only make an emergency call), my apps, and all else? Please help!

Sounds like you restored your phone as new.  If you follow all the steps, there a section that allows you to restore from a backup either through icloud or itunes.
You do have a backup of your phone right?  If you don't then all is gone, but you can sync back your apps and music.

  • HT1689 i had already bough sevral ringtones, yet something happend after the upgread that they or on my computer under Tones but are gone on my Iphone. What happened and how can i fix it?

I had bough alot of ringtones for my i-phone, when i upgraded it, after that they didn't appear on my phone anymore, yet they are still on my I-tunes, what can i do to fix that?

There's a user tip here with a checklist of things to confirm to get ringtones to sync properly: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3792.  If it's still not syncing to your phone after going through this article, try altering the tag on one of the ringtones by right-clicking on the ringtone, selecting "Get Info", go to the Info tab and make a slight change to the Artist field (such as by adding a few characters to the end), Click OK and try syncing it again.  If it transfers successfully, do the same for the remaining ringtones.

  • Why when i post a status on facebook using iphone. via Facebook mobile appear to my status. why not via iphone? what happen?

what a ******* cheap. fix this.

Generally speaking, you'll get more and better answers to your questions if you are polite and don't use profanity.
If I recall correctly, some months back, Facebook changed their mobile site so that it's the same for other mobile devices as it isiOS devices. The result is, if you post using the mobile website, it no longer labels what device you used, just that it was the mobile website.

  • HT201328 when I unlock iphone 4 what happens to my passcode?

When I unlock my iphone 4 and restored to factory setting, it does not accept my passcode. Does anybody know about default passcode?

There is no default passcode, the passcode would be whatever you had it set to.

  • Replaced Macbook, what happens my Applecare?

    Hey
Recently i've had a lot of problems with my macbook. It had several repairs all of which were covered by my apple care extended warranty. Luckily i had paid for Applecare which i think extended my warranty by about 3 years?
Anyways, all the repairs failed so they replaced my white macbook with a new one. Im just a little concerned as to how my Applecare stands now. After each repair that failed i was told my warranty is still in tact. I tried to ask one of the geniuses about how my applecare stands now and i didn't really get a straight answer. He said this is a new machine so its as it would be with a new machine and the warranty is still fine but if i really wanted to i can later buy applecare. Im not sure if that means i dont have it now, or if i need to get it again after it runs out.
Im just a little confused. Is there anywhere i can type in my new machines serial number to show my applecare status or something?
    Thanks.

A few SDKs back, there was a define UIImageNameFolder for getting the standard folder image. I believe it was in UIInterface.h. That has disappeared. Anyone know if it is still around somewhere? I can not find it. There were also several other useful system images in the headers.

I just set up my Iphone and after doing so set up Icloud.  Now I don't have any contacts in my Iphone.  What happened to them?

If you just set up your iPhone, where did the contacts on your iPhone come from?
When you manually turned contacts on for over the air syncing with your iCloud account, if the Contacts app had any contacts you should have been provided a merge, replace, or keep prompt.
