IPhone 5 does not connect to iPhoto 9.0 after iOS 7.1 update

I have been using iPhoto 9.0 (version 8.1.2) on my Mac to get the photos and videos from my iPhone 5 since I got the phone. It stopped working today after I updated the iOS on my iPhone to 7.1. Now when I connect the iPhone to my Mac, the iPhoto thinks there is no photo on the iPhone. I have tried the hard reset of my iPhone and it did not work. Any suggestion is welcome.

I have figured it out. I used iTunes to set up the connection with the iPhone. iTunes is able to detect iPhone and it triggers iPhone to ask for "whether this device can access your phone" question. Once that is set, the iPhoto 9.0 can detect the iPhone too.

Did you ever fix this problem? The same thing happened when I just changed my kids passwords and now can't access their mail on their iPods or my iPad but I use the same email provider and mine is fine however I did not change my password. If you fixed it how did you?

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

Also, turn off IPv6:

Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if fixed. If not Restore iPhone with iTunes on computer. See if fixed. If not then the WiFi chip or its connection to logic board are faulty and there is no fix.

IPhone does not appear on iPhoto

I have a problem with a couple of iPhones in combination with iPhoto. When I plug the iPhone in my iMac (late 2009), it gets recognized with iTunes and the synchronisation process starts. Everything is fine, however iPhoto does NOT notice that an iPhone is connected. Also the "Image Capture" app does NOT see the iPhone. Hmmm.... interesting conundrum.. try restarting all devices, computer, iphone, etc. and give it another go. Other than that, try going to finder and seeing if it recognizes the device, and see if you can get the photos that way.

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with my computer?

IPhone does not connect to updated Time Capsule

A couple of days ago my Time Capsule was updated to version 7.6. Although my Macbook Air, Windows PC en Windows laptop can still connect with the wireless network, my iPhone 4 does not anymore. My iPhone can connect to a wireless network in the neighbourhood though.
So far I have tried the following without success:
- Powered the iPhone off and on again after closing all apps, putting Wifi on 'off'. I've tried this several times the last couple of days.
- Renamed the Time Capsule
- Renamed the Wireless network
- Installed Airport utility on iPhone, but Airport utility doesn't find the network
- Unchecked the use of wide channels in the Time Capsule wireless options
Most of the time the iPhone doesn't see the network at all. In that case I enter 'name, security and password', but then the iPhone says it can't find the network.
Sometimes the iPhone does see the network, but after entering the correct password it says its unable to connect.
Anybody have another idea?

Problem is solved. After I changed the Time Capsule back to factory settings and after that had set my own settings, I still couldn't connect. Therefore I tried changing the networkname. It now seems iPhone can't connect to a networkname that starts with a number, contains dashes or is twenty or more characters long. I'm not sure which is the problem, but its one of these three for sure. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with version 7.6 or if this is a coincidence. I may have changed the networkname at the same day I updated the Time Capsule.
Networkname is now thirteen characters long and only contains letters.

IPhone does not connect to new Macbook Air 2013

I have an iPhone 4 and have always used to the USB cable to connect it to my macs. It works perfectly fine in onther 4 macbooks: one macbook white 2007, one macbook pro 2010 and a macbook air 2012.
Now I have the brand new macbook air 2013 and the iPhone is the only USB device I can not connect to it (all my external hard drives, wireless headphone work just fine). What happens is that when I connect the iPhone, it repeatly plays the sound as if it was connected, then it plays the sound as if it was disconnected.
What could I do to make it work?

Make sure any Advanced Calling features are turned off. The network extenders will not work with phones with AC enabled.

Are you using the same USB cable and adapter that came with the phone? If yes, did you check the docking port and cable for any kind of debris, lint or bent pins?
Next step would be a reset by holding the sleep and home button for about 10 sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting.

It sounds like you have intermittent Wi-Fi connection if you were able to update your iOS to 7.0.2?
Although you have tried some troubleshooting steps, I would suggest following the guide below in order to attempt to resolve this issue:
