Iphone 5 does not sync address book

my new iphone 5 does not recognize or sync my mac address book through itunes when I connect the divice. I am opertating 10.8.2..  Any idea why?
Thanks

This is happening to me also. We have 5 devices -- iMac, iPad, MacBook Pro, and 2 iPhone 5's. All devices are in sync except for one of the two iPhones. It downloads from iCloud but will not upload (though it will occasionally). Today we went to an Apple store and was given a new iPhone to replace the one with "poor connectivity". It worked fine. BUT then I restored the iCloud backup and now it no longer uploads. So it is not the phone itself. It seems to be some software problem. -- Both phones are using IOS6 1.01

  • Ipod nano does not sync address book...

So, I got a nano for christmas and it rocks, but does not sync address book- I can drop the vcards into the addresses folder using the nano in drive mode, but when i try to sync through itunes i get an error message-' address book unable to sync because no addresses are available' Any clues how to keep the addresses updated without having to drag&drop everything into the addresses folder? thanks for any advice- h1

I also am having trouble syncing contacts and iCal. Worked fine on my last iPod for years. But the nano displays contacts and calendars about 50% of the time, and I never know if it's worked or not until I disconnect and start up my ipod. When it does sync contacts, it usually says it only has room for a portion of them, even though there's plenty of room on my iPod. I've restored the iPod many times, and that sometimes works for a while, but the problem always returns. A shame, because I love using my iPod for my calendar and contacts. Now I had to switch to my stupid phone because of how unreliable the iPod is proving. Fix this soon, please, Apple!

  • .Mac does not sync address book's department field

    Hi,
when performing a sync via .Mac on address book entries, the department field is not synchronized. This seems to be an pretty old story. This is a major issue if you reset you entries using .Mac information.
Any ideas, how to solve this problem?

iMac Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Address Book 4.0.3 (477.6)
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    No, not through iSync.
But if you do the built-in backup for AddressBook and you need to reset, you can restore from there and you will have all data back.

  • Sync between MacBookPro and iPhone 3G does not sync properly.  Calendars duplicate events but worse is that only contacts from Address book from letter T onwards sync.  Any contacts on iPhone which are not on Mac are lost during sync.

    Solutions?

No, I never really found an easy solution.  I believe it is an issue with some corruption in the iTunes database on the specific device.  In my case, both my iPad and iPhone now show duplicate stream songs if viewed through iTunes on my Mac, but they show different songs.  A couple years ago I had a similar issue on my iPhone, and Apple support suggested I back up the phone, completely reset it, and then restore it from the backup.  It did work, so I imagine it would probably work for my current issues with the iPhone and iPad.  But resetting and restoring an iPad or iPhone always makes me a little nervous that something will get lost.  When I did reset/restore the iPhone, I do have to say, the restore process was 100% perfect and I did not lose any data at all even though Apple support said I might.  If you try to go that route, I would suggest backing the device up both to a computer through iTunes, and to the iCloud so that you have a double backup.
None of this really resolves the issue with how the iTunes databases are becoming corrupted on the apple devices though, so it is very likely to happen again until they fix it.  I have been unable to determine if there were any specific actions or conditions which caused the corruption to happen in the first place.
Might be worth another call to Apple support, or dropping in the local Apple store if you have one near by.

  • My MacBook Pro will not sync address book changes with my IPhone.  Why?  It used to.

Then you may have to try manually resetting the syncservices folder by following Julian Write's post (from https://discussions.apple.com/message/9274781#9274781):
Ok, as you can't reset SyncServices in the "normal" way, you'll have to resort to the "other" way:
Although it's not advised to do so in normal circumstances, you'll need to manually delete the SyncServices folder.
Before doing so, you MUST make a backup of both your Contacts and Calendars:
In Address Book, choose *Export > Address Book Archive...* from the File menu.
In iCal, choose *Back up iCal...* from the File menu.
Then, make a backup of the SyncServices folder located at:
    ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices
By backing everything up first, you don't risk losing anything.
Finally delete the aforementioned SyncServices folder and restart the Mac. This will force Mac OS X to recreate the SyncServices folder, and hopefully fix your problem.
I believe in Snow Leopard you can back up your calendar in File>Export>iCal Archive rather than File>Back up iCal as posted above.

Of course not... it's not supposed to.  There is no issue with that.
iDevices only show as cameras so that pictures/videos taken with the device can be copied off.
What troubleshooting has been tried to get iTunes to recognize the device?
    Different sync cable?
    Multiple USB ports?
Reset or restart or the device?
    Rebooting the computer?

  • HT1296 When i sync calendars, the info i typed in my iphone calendar does not sync to my computer

When i sync calendars, the info i typed in my iphone calendar does not sync to my computer?  Info from my ical from the computer does sync to my iphone...Am i missing something?

Thanks for the reply but when I do this my default calendar options are 'From My Mac' or 'iCloud'.  If I try to select a calendar I can only select one of them.  So, if I select Calendar I can only get a check mark beside one feature, calendar, home, or work.  I am stumped.  I can add events on the Mac and then will sync to the phone but not the other way.  That sounds like settings to me but I have toggled everything I can think of.

  • Putting info on my iPhone calendar does not sync with my iMac unless I plug it into my iMac

putting info on my iPhone calendar does not sync with my iMac unless I plug it into my iMac.  It did when I first bought iPhone, how can I sync automatically?

Could be a bunch of reasons. Do you have icloud setup on both devices? Can you give us more details of your setup? Make sure you have the calendar set to sync in the icloud system settings. Also make sure you are set to sync said calendar. I was checking my settings and realized that you may or may not be using icloud for calendaring. On your phone in settings/mail, contacts, calendars/ you have the ability to select what and which calendars you want to sync. Make sure it is configured appropriately.

  • I have new PC and my new Iphone 4s does not sync through I cloud how do I fix

I have a new pc and now my new Iphone 4s does not sync though Icloud how do I make new computer be the one iphone syncs with.

Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in with your current Apple ID
Change the Apple ID to the old one and save changes.
Sign in on the device with the same password for your account.
After logging in and signing out of Facetime, Messages, iCloud and itunes and app store, go back to Apple ID.com and change it back to your normal Apple ID.
Go to your email account and reverify your account by clicking on the Verify now link
Now re-login to those services with your normal Apple ID and password.

  • IPhone calendar does not sync new events and appointments from Outlook

iTunes 9.2.0.61/iPhone 4.0.1 - does not sync newly added events and appointments! Previously added stuff is all there, new stuff added in Outlook 2007 just doesn't show up. I've gone back to my old Palm T|X which syncs all this stuff with no problem, so it's not an Outlook bug.
It looks like Apple has put a team of junior programmers on the Calendar app - I've seen leap-year bugs (still there), events showing up on the wrong day (still there), and I'm still waiting for the "week at a glance" view. Calendar is SO important for business use that top level "gray beard" engineers need to be on this. (Question for Apple's calendar developers: what's Zeller's Congruence? It they haven't heard of it they have no business doing calendar programming.)

Spontaneously started syncing again - no idea why now, nor why it failed for so long. Related to the alarm bug? Who knows...

  • My iPhone 4s does not sync to iTunes 10.6.3.25

I have an iPhone 4s iOS 5.1.1 and since I upgraded iTunes to 10.6.3.25 it goes through the sync process with no error messages, but does not sync playlists. Diagnostics says that sync is working fine. Tried reboot on iPhone. Reinstalled iTunes on PC. PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate. My wife's Window PC does the same thing. My son's Mac laptop does sync.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 4S and new iPad. I tried both actions:
    1) Uncheck SYNC MUSIC, allow the music to be deleted from the device, and re-sync. Did not work.
    2) Check Match is off (it actually was off in both my iPhone and Ipad, as well as in iTunes). Nothing.
Anyone with this problem has been able to solve it?
I created a new "Test" playlist but did nt sync with any device.
    Thanks.

Recently my iphone 4 will not sync to my itunes on my computer.
My computer sees that a device is plugged in, and my phone give me the "trust this computer" message, but itunes does not show my phone on the screen, and it won't give me the option to sync my phone.
I have hard shutdown my phone, reset my phone completely, updated itunes/checked for updates on my phone (there were none), and changed cords, while restarting my pc. Nothing is working.
Can anything be done about this?
