Iphone 5 doesn't accept my wifi password.
I read many of the wifi connection problems on the iPhoe 5 and have one myself. I bought the iPhone last night after stading inline for 12 hours and was hoping for a great start in using it. But it's impssoible to connect to wifi. Any idea how to get the phone accepting my password? It words on both my iPad 3 and the iPhone 4, so I am sure it's correct.
Go in Settings > General > Reset and reset Network settings. Also, you might try turning Proxy from Off to Auto in Wifi settings.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

My iPhone 4 out of blue decided not to accept the wifi password- it says "wrong password for xxx network" - it's my home one it always worked-
I was away and worked fine for a week in others houses (where the password was stored already) went to other house, tried to connect with passwprd and started saying the pw was wrong - got home last night and didn't connect right away as usual(maybe because I've reset the network when away) so I've put the pw in and again says it's wrong - Of course the password is correct - laptop works fine and iPod touch as well - At work there is a non protected wifi and it connects fine - So looks like the iPhone doesn't accept passwprds for the wifi
I've tryed to reset the network few times, reboot it few times, reset all settings and update the sofware (version 5.0.1) - nothing worked - aw also unpluged and re-pluged the router at home (knowiing wouldn't' help)
PLEASE help, very frustrating - I've seen few people had the same issue but nothing worked.

Incorrect. The passcode lock is not included with the backup. The restrictions passcode is, but not the passcode lock. If it were included with the backup, you would need to restore as a new device or not from the backup. Either way, you must restore with iTunes which is the only way around a forgotten passcode. -

In my wifi settings on both phones had my internet provider name. ( this was the one it would not connect to)
I went into OTHERS on the phone wifi menu and retyped the exact provider name and BINGOOOO it worked again..
i have no idea why this worked or why the other one did`nt work but it fixed the problem...now accepts the password i was useing.
i really hope others out there can read this and keep a few more hairs on there head ! -

My itouch won't accept my wifi password...what do i do?
I just got my itouch a couple of days ago. I use a wifi connection at home and it works well with my macbook pro. I don't have any issues with that. The thing is my itouch wont accept the wifi password. I don't understand why. I've reset the modem and my itouch and still nothing. I'm not sure what's wrong nor how to fix it. Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

It sounds like you have modified the password settings for your Gmail account after changing the password. Thats where I would have started too. Next I would restart the device and test it one more time, and then remove and add the account again in Settings:
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap the affected email account.
Tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

You could be having an issue with the wireless radio.

Iphone not accepting home wifi password
woke up this morning to find my iphone prompting me to enter my home network password. i entered it and rec'd an 'unable to join' message. my wife's iphone, our two laptops and our wii were all connecting to the network fine. i did all the normal resetting of network settings, rebooted the router, hard restart of the iphone etc and still no luck entering the password. changed the router security from WEP to WPA2 and generated a new password...all the other devices in the house accepted the new password and are working fine but my phone still gives me the 'unable to join' error. any other suggestions for a fix?
christine, i would recommend checking your router security settings and make sure you have WPA2 security enabled, not WEP. if you 'upgrade' to WPA2 from WEP, you will need to generate a new password. the next step would be to reset your router--there should be a 'hole' in the back where you stick a paper clip or pen tip-hold it in there for 10-15 seconds. after this, it will probably take a few minutes for the router to start broadcasting again. try connecting your iphone again once it finds the signal.
