Iphone 5 doesnt boot up on charging, the sleep wake button doesnt work either
I have an iphone 5 which usually boots up when charged from zero power, but now it just is not booting up.
I can just see a white screen with black apple logo on my phone.
Also the phone's sleep/wake button does not work.
the apple geniuses cannot quite figure out the problem, so it is like I have a very expensive piece of stone.
If plugging iPhone onto the wall charger do not turn it ON, make an appointment with the Apple genius bar for an evaluation.

Apple can fix it without your receipt or box. They pull the serial number from the device and determine warranty status from that. Hopefully ApplCare was registered to the product before you lost the receipt though. If not, you can go back to the point of purchase and obtain your AppleCare receipt and Apple can help attach it to the iPhone.

Sleep/wake button? And how do I fix it?Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Ok so my ipod touch just turned off by itself..again. I got it to work again last time cause the sleep/wake button still worked...Now it doesn't. What do I do?! I don't have money to get it repaired cause we all know Apple ain't cheap to fix! Any Suggestions will help!

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Where it says use recovery mode use this program
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem -

How old is the phone? You can go to Check Your Service and Support Coverage to find out where you stand warranty wise.
There is a one year limited warranty, the only way to find out if this repair is covered is to have it checked out. There is no charge in any case for the initial check. -
my iphone 4 turned black today and my sleep(lock) button doesnt work. I have tried to let it charge to see if it would restart but still nothing. what else can i do to turn it back on??
Unless somebody else has a micracle workaround I don't know. Probably get the phone in for repair since it has been living on borrowed time so far and now you absolutely must have a working button.

I have a iphone3GS. It could not be boot up. When i press the sleep/wake button, the apple logo appear and then disappear. The password login screen didnt' come on. When i tried to connect my phone to the itune on my laptop, there isnt this button that i can sync my phone with the laptop.
Sounds like your iPhones software may be corrupt. Try placing the iPhone into recovery mode. To do this, follow the steps in this article:

Right now, I'm stuck in the settings, when I press the sleep/wake button or the home button it doesnt let me. But is not frozen or any thing just the buttons. help me please!!!!!

I have an iPhone 5 16gb purchased in US in March 2013, now I see that sleep/wake button doesnt work. Searched on web and found out that is an hardware issue, and booked a meeting to Apple store. I think they will replace it, but the problem which may me doubt is that the iphone is bought in US from my friend, and now I live in Netherlands.

If it isn't responding to any of those steps it might prove difficult to extract data from the phone.
So again your best bet may be the Apple Store, they would be able to help retrieve it I expect. -

My Iphone 5 has completly stopped working, have tried holding the sleep wake buttons etc but still no responce, there is an apple icon that appears but it then just goes agsin, any ideas.

I have to restore my iphone 4s becasue it is saying "disabled connect to itunes" and it's never been synced with itunes. However the sleep/wake button is broken on the phone is there still away to restore without using it?
You can try, but the problem with that is you need battery power in order to restore. Once your phone has enough power to restore, it will still show the same message. To get the phone into either recovery mode or DFU mode requires the ability to first turn the phone off. But, you've got nothing to lose, so you might as well give it a shot.

If it is one year old minus one day it is still under warranty. If it is more than a year since you purchased it then yes, the warranty has expired.
Millions of iPads have been sold. Most continue to function long after their warranty has expired.
