Iphone 5 FaceBook Video Orientation

I receneotly came to find out when im watching videos facebook and I rotate phone so that the video may enlarge is not working. the phone is not on orientation lock either everything else works fine.

Im having this same exact issue! How can this be fixed?

Why can't I open facebook videos on my ipad and iphone any more? I used to be able to open most but now I can't open any. Now it just comes up with a message 'unable to play video.Check your internet connection and try again' There is nothing wrong with my internet connection. I am on wifi and full signal strength. Thanks for this Griff but it's not the app that isn't responding. I am in the facebook app (on both iPhone and iPad) and the app is working fine but if people post a video I can't look at the video on the iPhone or iPad. i always used to be able to but now it keeps coming up with the message I mentioned above. So I can no longer watch videos from facebook on either my iPad or iPhone. Here is a screen shot of my phone of what is happening. As you can see I have full wifi so there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. This is really annoying as I used to be able to watch videos on both phone and ipad out of facebook. now I can't. Hope you can help. regards and thanks Vicki

Video orientation exclusion

Hallo. I use my iPhone 5s in portrtait lock. When it is time to watch a video in Facebook or safari I have to switch the orientation lock off. Is there a way to exclude QuickTime from the portrait lock and set it permanently to landscape?

The video orientation is included with the video's EXIF data, which the Windows video viewer ignores - at least with photos so I assume the same with video.

What is the workaround to play facebook videos on my iPad without Flash?

I get frustrated everytime I take my iPad out with me and people want to see videos I've posted (or others have posted) on facebook. Of course the warning comes up saying I need to install "Flash." Well, we know that won't work. Does anyone know another way to play facebook videos? If this can't be done - EASILY, I'm afraid the current iPad will also be my last. This is a showstopper issue.

What is confusing Meg is the fact that I have a bunch of Architectural Engineers that think they can do everything on a Tablet.
With dozens of them floundering between PC's and Macs all with their own tablet (BYOD). I have to keep everyone with the flow of production. And I have my own projects to complete. It gets where I would like to do away with all PC's when Microsoft releases IE 11 on Windows 7 and then everyone is complaining about "Facebook doesn't play video's".
That I can deal with by locking them down because I have beeen doing PC CADD management for over 30+ years.
Why the "Powers that be" let the nimnod goofballs that really don't get their work done is beyound my comprehension.
It is bad enough dealing with Microsoft because Apple to me is so easy, because it just works. Linix on a few dedicated miniservers and Windows Servers with Exchange is OK because I can assign rights and control that segment of the Architects, Engineers and CADD Personel.
But when I am supporting iPads, iPhones, Android devices, yes it gets confusing and I am fixing to set a policy of if it doesn't work then they are they assigned the lowest piroity as work needs to get done.
Only a few good A/E people that do surveys on-site do I even take care of. The rest are playing on facebook as I have restricted the use of it on our company Network, Intranet and Internet.
Too much for one person to do with over 40 employees that can really be done.
I am responable for the UNIX boxes that run our highend CAD software as well as the renderings, animations & Plotting, 2D & 3D.
We produce all that for the clients to drool over, usually at a meeting out of the house and on a iPad. Those are owned by the company I work for and I never have real issues with them as I check them out and don't let them go home with anyone but a principle of the Firm.
Anyway, thank you for straightning me out and your kind words will not be forgotten.

You would have to download the video to your computer, convert to iPad format (if necessary), import into iTunes and sync to your iPad from there.
The Facebook app does not offer video download functionality.

However in System Preferences > Security and Privacy you can override this and allow Anywhere.
Why are you not videoing an a Web Browser ?
(I don't use Facebook and maybe missing something here)

Video Orientation Question

I recorded a video using my iphone in one orientation (portrait style) but when I play it on my computer it plays sideways. Peoples heads point west and their feet point east. How can i get it to play normally on my computer? I now know that in the future I must always record lanscape style but I really want to use one of the videos I've already recorded. Is there any way to salvage it?

Facebook video issue (flash required?)

I uploaded a couple videos from my iPhone to Facebook over the weekend but now my iPad within Facebook says it requires flash to play? Yet they play fine on FB thru the iPhone. Any thoughts? Both have the latest OS installed!

Facebook videos that play on my iphone 5 won't play on my iPad 3. I'm using the face book app on both. They played for the last year and just stopped playing a few days ago.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.
The videos must be in Flash format.
Adobe has not made a version of Flash for the iPad.

Facebook videos not playing on iPad Air(safari browser)

Why do my Facebook videos not play in iPad Air(safari browser) but same video play nicely on iPhone 4(safari browser). It asks me to download flash player to play on iPad but plays fine on iPhone without giving any prompt to download flash player.

You should not have trouble playing using the FaceBook app.

Cannot play Facebook videos

Suddenly cannot play Facebook videos on iPhone or iPad that could early evening yesterday. I get a check your connection. It isy wi-fi which has worked well for years. I just updated is 0S8. Since I create videos this is bad very bad for me. What can I do? I am also posting this to wi-fi. This post went to video problems first.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error when attempting to view videos. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:

How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Bad video orientation

Got my iPhone 3gs a week ago.
Today something went wrong with playing videos. The thing won't correct the video orientation when held vertically. Horizontally is fine. I can turn it upside down and it will correct the view. But vertically, no. It just stays horizontal.
What should I do?

Umm I'm afraid I can't answer that. For some reason you can't access the iTunes store from Israel.

5230 video orientation stuck (sideways)

I just got this 5230 and I cannot get the video to re-orient straight up and down and not horizontally. Other times other apps get stuck in one position or the other. In other words, I am having some orientation issues! Anyone know how to make it more sensitive to my hand position (vertical or horizontal). Also I have a real problem seeing it outdoors... any solutions?
