IPhone 5 failure to boot or restore
Hey Guys!
I am posting on behalf of my mate as this is his phone. Unfortunatly his iPhone 5 (purchased under contract from Vodafone Australia) has stopped working in a way that I have never seen. Upon booting with the Apple logo appearing, white text appears in the top left of the screen.
This is the following text:

I am unable to restore it as this keeps appearing on the screen as it restarts the device upon completetion of the extraction. I have tried restore mode and DFU mode with the same issue. Any help would be gladly accepted!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It's more of a hardware problem but also software problem.
It appears that the main logic board's failure,throws those errors.
So you have to go to Technician any where in your country and ask him about the things i will set them below :
1- tell him to change your parts one by one and step by step to see if your phone will boot up again and work .
2- change first thing home button completely and try open your phone again . see if it work without nand screen or not . if its ok and your phone work will so the problem was a HomeButton if its not try third step
3- change power cable to original one and after that open up your phone to see if it work or not. if your phone work so its power Cable problem if its not so try fourth step
4- change volume buttons Cables and after that power up your phone . if your phone work well so its volume cables problem . if its not try fifth step
5- try to walk on every cable and buttons in your phone change them and open the phone to see if well work or not.

ClareAll of your apps should be in iTunes on the computer, simply sync them back.
If they are not, go into the purchase history and download them again. -
When I plug my iPhone into my computer to sync my iTunes I get a message that says "iTunes cannot read the content of the iPhone" and wants me to restore my phone back to factory settings. Any suggestions so that I don't have to restore? I have all of my stuff backed up on iCloud but I really don't want to go through the hassle of wiping it clean and putting everything back on.

"OK - this is how it works:
In order to backup from iCloud you cannot use iTunes!
Therefore disconnect your device from your computer.
Turn on your device and go to Settings and then go to General.
At the bottom of this submenu there is a buttom "Reset"
If you push that buttom you see 6 different Erase settings to chose from!
Chose "Erase All Content and Settings" because this will wipe everything from your device and will let you restore from iCloud! (I tried the top "Reset All Settings" but that did not let me use iClouds afterwards!)
Once you pushed that buttom your device will be wiped clean and after some time you will see the Device Welcome Screen like on a new device!
After choosing your location you will be asked to setup your WiFi-conection. After you joint to your Wifi you will be given the choice to restore the iPad from a backup from the iCloud. Choosing this backup will prompt you with your apple ID and password.
Restoring from a backup can take some time. The process uses your Wi-Fi connection to download settings, content and data. If you had a lot of content on your device, this can take a while. The restore screen should give you estimates at each stage of the restore process, starting with restoring the settings and then booting into the iPad. When the iPad home screen appears, the device will continue the restore process by downloading all of your applications.
If you are restoring from a backup because you have run into problems with your device that can only be solved by restoring it, you can first choose your latest backup. If you still have problems, you can move on to the next latest backup, repeating the process until (hopefully) the problem is cleared."

I forgot my passcode, then I decided to restore through Itune but it says iphone 3 could not be restored error 1015 occurred. what should I do?
Was the computer used to jailbreak a different iOS device? Are you trying to forcibly install a version of iOS other than the current version for your device? (4.2.1 for the 3G, 6.0.1 for the 4 and 4S, 6.0.2 for the 5).
Those are the only other reasons you would get that error other than an extremely rare hardware failure. -
My iPhone 5 is booting up to a red screen only. HELP
does anyone know what causes iPhone 5 to boot to a red screen and freeze?
Try a hard reset:
- hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
- the phone should turn off then when the apple logo appears release both buttons
If after those steps the issue remains try backing up the phone if possible and restoring it to factory settings. If you are unable to do this then best option would be to book an appointment at an Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated. -

hold down the on/off button and then square button at the same time, then once the phone turns off, turn it back on and plug it into your computer... this is what I did and my phone is now on...however; it says it is in recovery mode and i need to restore it to its original settings

My iPhone won't boot up anymore, help?
Hi, I'm Lee! My iPhone will not boot up, and I don't know what did it. My friend said his iPod won't come on because he charged it on a friend's XBOX overnight, and so did I. I really don't know if the XBOX did it, but it's possible. The other day I turned it off to save power, and when I tried to turn it on, it wouldn't completely boot up. The Apple logo shows up for about a minute and then the loading symbol comes up and just keeps going and it won't ever get to the lock screen. I've tried to restore it. It won't show up in iTunes so I heard about putting the device in Recovery Mode to make it recognizable. It made it show up, but every time I tried to restore it gave me error codes like 21, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, and 1604. My iPhone was on 5.0.1 and at the Restore page in iTunes that only had options to Update and Restore. Update was grayed out, and there should be an update to 5.1. Then today when I tried restoring it the message at the top was stuck on "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple..." iTunes isn't frozen on "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple," it just won't say anything else. I've tried everything and nothing works. I've even tried holding the Power and Home buttons forever, and still, nothing works. Please help!!
Message was edited by: ulyssesfromalabasterI've read all the error codes already. I've downloaded 5.1 again and tried to restore and it's stuck on "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple" again. After about 10 minutes, iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone anymore and the tab with my iPhone goes away but it still says "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple" at the top. I'm going to try reinstall iTunes. This should fix things.

i tried to restore my iphone but when it was restoring it said a problem occurred and now it just shows the itunes symbole and its telling me to connect to it but when i try to it doesnt show up on my computer

It sounds as if you had a device that was jailbroken/hacked to operate on your carrier. Upon updating the iOS, it is now locked back to the original carrier the device was locked to.
Only the carrier the device is locked to can authorize an unlock. You will need to make contact with that carrier and see if they provide unlocking services, and if they do, if you qualify for an unlock. Otherwise, you are out of luck. One that carrier can take care of the unlocking. -
after trying to remember my new pass code and failing, my iphone disabled and is now telling me to connect to itunes, ive done that and tried instruction to restore from back up however when i do that i get an error msg saying that i need to turn off the app find my iphone to b able to restore, i cant do that tho because i cant use my phone and i dont see app on my computer on itunes either???what do i do >??

The only way is to login to iCloud with your computer browser and wipe the iPhone.
If you can't then you have a brick, Apple won't help and AL cannot be bypass.

I only show one iCloud on my IPhone that can do a restore. I synced it with my MacBook Pro and I think that may have messed things up. Prior to that I have several backups. Will a "genius" be able to access the info I need?
If things seem to be going haywire with your phone, it seems that it MAY be a software issue.
Now, that being said, that does not necessarily mean that it is a virus. Software issues do happen sometimes. It is probably just coincidence.
What you need to do is restore the device using iTunes. This will fix any software issues. After you have done this, you can restore from an iCloud backup.
iCloud does not back up the actual software, so no, the "virus" would not have gotten into the backups.

I began this crazy fiasco on Friday (it's now Monday). My phone didn't have enough storage to update to iOS8 via wifi, so I connected to my laptop. Thankfully I backed up my phone to iCloud & even saved pics manually onto my laptop before beginning the update via iTunes. My computer (PC, Dell Mini) kept making disconnection sounds (my USB ports are unreliable at times) so I began to think it wasn't going to work with the continuously broken connection (it was displaying a message in iTunes "waiting for iphone"). So I thought, well, if that USB port isn't working & it's already disconnected, I'll just switch the USB port real quick. BIG MISTAKE. I then got an error message saying the connection was lost & the update was interrupted. I clicked "OK" & then I was told that my iPhone would have to be reset to factory setting before it could be updated. GREAT... So I let it be restored to factory settings via iTunes. After that it updated to iOS8. Once that was complete I began the iCloud backup restore. It started Friday afternoon & ran for several hours, reloading many of my items. But then I had to leave work, & a wifi connection. My phone was away from wifi most of the weekend, but has had the spinning 'loading wheel' next to my "4G" icon in my status bar the whole time. Several of my Apps say their 'waiting' or 'loading' but they don't appear to be actually loading (hence, they're in the same 'loading' spot they've been in for days). Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. When the restore process is underway, the iCloud Backup setting is dimmed and you have the option to tap Stop Restoring.
But when I look at the Settings > iCloud on my phone, there's no "Storage & Backup." Instead, where that option should be, is a message at the very bottom of the page that says "Your iCloud account cannot be deleted because your iPhone is being restored." This is the only indication I have that it's still restoring, but like I said, the apps have not shown improvement in their loading. My phone has been back on wifi, connected to power source, & locked since 8:45am (it's now 9:45am).
Is my phone actually restoring??? Or is there a glitch & it's stuck??? Please help!Now it's Wednesday (2 days since I originally posted) & my iPhone appears to have finally restored all my apps, but it still says it's restoring from iCloud backup. If all my apps are restored, what else could it be restoring? IS it actually restoring anything at this point, or is it still in 'glitch' mode??? How do I transfer itunes music to my iphone 4 without using the restore from this backup function? I cannot use the back up function as have been advised that therer are bugs in it and restoring it back to my phone will bring the bugs with it and phone will be back to apple again as will start playing up again. But I need the music. Whn I plug it in laptop and go to itunes icon it gives me 2 options: Set up as new iphone? OR Restore from backup.
Do I pick set up as new phone? I dont know as the guy at the genius bar told me there would be an option asking if i want to sync itunes only...but there isn't.Set up as New and then... Re-Sync your Content from iTunes.

If i backup an app for example Music Downloader as it contains like 300 songs and now i want to replace my iphone 5 so when i restore the app from itunes do i get back all the content in the app or just the app itself ??..

I am not sure whether the music will get restored.
Anyway try this
1.Connect iPhone to PC.
2.Open iTunes
3.Open iPhone Summary
4.Go to Apps Tab
5.Under File Sharing Section Click on Music Downloader
6.Right side if you see your songs click on one song and press (CTRL + A).(hope you are using windows) and click on save and then save to a folder on your computer.
7. Later just do steps till 5 to put to new iPhone then ...........
8.Click on save and select the music files which u want to put in that app.
9.Click on apply to sync.
10.You should be having the music in that app

I upgraded to iOS 5 on my 3GS without any issues but now everytime I connect to iTunes the message ' iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iPhone. would you like to restore the phone again now? with the options of cancel, continue restore and delete back-up. what happens if i click delete back up?
I'm not getting the message anymore!
What I did:
1.- Went to preferences in itunes/ Devices --> erased the corrupted backup (there were two backups)
2.- Upgraded to iOS 5.0.1
Done!
PS: Maybe upgrading solves the problem without erasing the corrupted backup
