  • Itunes 12.1.2 freezes when detecting iPhone in windows 7

    Hello!
I've just reformatted my laptop and installed windows 7 home.
did all the windows update, downloaded the latest iTunes 12.1.2 from Apple site.
installed successfully. and is able to launch and play music. i've added in only one song to the library to just test.
Here's the problem i'm facing now.
    - iTunes freezes if i tried to going to preferences via Edit > Preferences.
    - iTunes freezes when my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1) is plugged in. the iPhone appears under my computer, but iTunes is unable to detect/freezes.
    tried these methods
    - iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    - re-installing iTunes multiple times, restarted my iPhone multiple times
    - running iTunes on safe mode, but i doubt this will make any difference since there are no plugins installed.
    - phone does not have any podcasts/videos
    - tried running iTunes in compatibility mode
    - cable used is original apple cable
    - created another windows user account, same problem persist.
    - tried all 3 USB ports
    - uninstalling apple device drivers and installing
    - tried to revert back to iTunes 11.4 or older iTunes 12 version, but encounter installation errors with Apple Mobile Device.
    findings
    - iTunes 12.1.2 is able to detect my phone on windows8.1 (office machine)
    - able to access iPhone under my computer to retrieve images/videos
    - able to charge iPhone via USB
    - running iTunes diagnosis states that iTunes is unable to detect any iPod/iPhone/iPad when my iPhone 6 is plugged in
    - using iTunes with iPhone had been no issue before the windows re-installation with iTunes 11.4 (if i never remembered the version wrongly, it's the red icon iTunes)
    - Apple mobile device is working fine when i've checked under services.
    - Under device manager, the apple mobile device is shown up in the USB list
would be grateful for any help! been trying to get this fixed to do a backup and sync my other stuffs.
    thanks in advance!

  • How come my Iphone freezes when I try to use Yahoo messenger video calling?

  • Problems with iPhone freezing when trying to answer while on another call?

I am wondering if others are having the problem with your iPhone freezing when you are on a call and another calls comes in. I have had this problem repeatedly. If I try to answer a call while on another call, the other caller can not hear me. when I try and hang up the call...iPhone freezes and disconnects ALL calls.
I do not have a problem if I initiate BOTH calls for a conference call. I am hoping that Apple is aware of this issue and are working on a fix in the next update. Whenever that will be???
Oh well, if you are having this problem and know how to fix it...please let me know. Thanks

I have noticed that during or at the end of a conference call when one party hangs up all parties have always been disconnected. I can tell you that if this is the way it works normally, this is not the way is should work. This is a pain in the butt when it is necessary to call one of the parties back since that party is also trying to call you back. You both get a busy signal.
I do not have a problem answering a second call during a time when I am on a first call. It will place the first call on hold and I will only be talking to the second party. It should work that way. My iPhone works that way.
It should also allow you to add the second call to the first call through the 'merge' feature so that both the first and second calls can be joined together. My iPhone works that way.
My previous Treo worked great on these situations but I do have burps with the iPhone.
I think that the problem is with the iPhone and AT&T interface in these conditions.
I would provide your comments to Apple via:

That error often indicates a hardware failure.Try restoring a few more times. If it consistently gives you that error, make an appointment at the genius bar to have it looked at.

  • IPhone 3GS 8GB Freezes when restoring

I had to restore my Iphone 3GS this morning and I've been trying to solve this problem all day. On itunes where it says 'Restoring iPhone Software...' at the top, it gets to about 50% of the way across and it it just stops whilst on the phone screen the progress bar is at approximately 20%. I've left it for a few hours and tried a lot of times all with the same result. Anyone had any similar problems or know any solutions?
My phone is not Jailbroken and I do not have wifi sync installed on my PC.

Just left it over night and it's done the same, anyone got any ideas?

  • My iPhone freezes when disconecting from wall charger

Hi! I got an 8gb iphone for Christmas. Works great and it has the latest update that came out in January 08. I the past 2 weeks my phone freezes whenever I disconnect it from the wall charger and I have to go through the trouble of reseting pressing both the home button and the on/off button. When I charge it on the cradle with the computer it does not happen. Is there anything I can do so it stops freezing when I charge it connected to a power outlet? I usually like to charge it on my night stand as I go to sleep. Please help.

I am having the same problem. I have restored my iPhone twice and it is still giving me problems. I thought it was initially the wifi network i was connected to, but I had never had any problems before, but i told the phone to forget the network and reconnected to it, and it fixed it for a little while, but now it is doing it again. I don't know what is going on...but if anyone gets an answer I would like to know!

  • Itunes error 1 when restoring iphone to 7.1.2

    I have the update Itunes
I have the latest java(i dont know if it affects)
    I restarted my computer
The only i thing i have plugged in is the iphone itself( im using a laptop)windows 8.1
If anyone can help me to solve my problem .
    Thanks in advance.

In the article Resolve iOS update and restore errors this is what it says about error 1:
    Check for hardware issues
    Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

  • Itunes freezes when syncing iphone

I've just got a new pc laptop 64bit windows 7, have downloaded the latest 64bit itunes and have a brand new 32Gb 3GS iphone.
When I attempt to sync my iphone, itunes freezes and I have to close it using task manager. I have read on the internet other ppl have had this problem.. but so far haven't found a fix that works for me.
I've tried re-installing itunes and have restored factory settings on my iphone (frustratingly), but nothing seems to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

SOLVED for me. I had the exact same problem and spent countless hours deleting apps, reinstalling Itunes etc on two windows based laptops and a new iMac. I was ready, after months of this, to go into an Apple store when I found a post on a website suggesting leaving the Iphone connected for hours. I connected my Iphone 3Gs, made sure nothing else was running and that the system wouldn't power down under my power saving settings. As usual Itunes froze (says "not responding" under "force quit" or ctrl-alt-del) but I walked away and the next morning - tada - Iphone was recognized and no problems since then. So give it a shot - I wish I had known it was that easy - all these months of rebooting and trying to find the solution online ! Lynn

  • Iphone freezes when connecting to wifi.

So my iphone cannot connect to wifi at all. This is what happens. It started 2 weeks ago. Everything works great.
So I took it to six flags magic mountain one day. When I get home I connect my iphone to my pc to transfer the photos I took. I try connecting to wifi, and there are no wifi networks found. I say what? I usually can detect like 5 or more! And the home wifi is right next to me! So I reset network settings, and it starts detecting networks.
So I connect to my home network and It won't connect! I try like 10 times and it finally connects. I say ok, maybe it's good. So I go on safari, and halfway through loading the google page, my iphone freezes. I mean nothing wants to work. After a few seconds the wifi icon is gone and safari says there is no connection, and my iphone starts working again. It does that with any internet app. I tried conneecting and leaving it idle. It freezes and disconnects after a few seconds also. Afte all fails, I restore to 3.0 again. Won't work. I try restoring again and setting up as new iphone. No dice. I restore to 3.0.1, and again no dice! Keeps freezing iphone after a few seconds and disconnecting. I probably restored over 10 times and nothing. I even tried jailbreaking it, and it wouldn't work! Then I updated to 3.1, and still, same symptoms!
It detects networks now, but most of the time it says it failed to connect. The few times it does connect it can load something for the first few seconds, freeze, and then disconnect from wifi. I have tried everything. I don't know what is wrong. I really, really need wifi. Anyone ever had this problem? It can't be a busted wifi antenna can it? My iphone doesn't get hot and my battery life is ok. Everything else works. Also, I've tried it with several networks, even new ones that I have never connected to before.
    Anyways, thanks in advance.

    Try these Settings changes:
    The Setting changes are:
Fetch New Data > Push: Off
Fetch settings are set to Manual & in Advanced all is set to Manual.
My iPhone also lost WiFi but with the changes above it now connects though it takes a bit longer to find the signal. No longer have Push but WiFi is more important, to me anyway.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone freezes when sync is in 'backup' stage

I recently started getting freezes every time I sync. Its very predictable:
    connect iPhone
    sync begins
    sync starts to 'backup'
    iphone freezes
This happens regardless if its a automatic sync or if I turn that off and do it manually. The only way to sync is to bypass the backup step by changing sync settings and hitting apply.
Sometimes if I delete the backup and it has to make a fresh one it will work, but the last time I tried this it did not (first time it failed to work).
I called apple and they had no idea and said it needs service. I can't test it on a different Mac...maybe user account...so I'm not sure if its a software thing with my system.
FYI...I have restarted, reset, reinstalled re-everything. I have done all the usual steps. NO matter how much or how little data I sync, it freezes so turning off photos/music/etc does not work.
    Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem. In a different thread I have found a partial solution; it will do an automatic sync without the "apply" trick but it will not make a back up:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6406167
"The only way around this is to disable backups. You can force this by
moving the backup agent from its location at
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Resources/
    AppleMobileDeviceHelper.app/Contents/Resources/AppleMobileBackup
You should then be able to sync with your iPhone again, but
unfortunately it won't get backed up."
    Dannys1 wrote:
Remove the AppleMobileDevice app as instructed, copy it to another folder and trash the one in the app.
Plug in phone and click sync...it will say its taking a backup still (if it does i have no idea, but in my itunes it said it made one) i clicked a few options around and press sync again a few times.
Then i copied he AppleMobileDevice back in again, disconnected the phone and reconnected...and now it works properly! It backs up every time, ive tried unplugging and reconnecting and it works everytime. I even have automatic sync ticked and the backup works everytime.
It appears we just needed to remove this AppleMobileDevice, then whatever issues Itunes was having during backup no longer happen when you click sync..excellent! and no need to erase all from phone!"
But that didn't work for me.
    Any help very welcome!
    regards, Harm
