IPHONE 5 FROM OTHER CARRIER TO WIND MOBILITY

Hi, i just want to ask that if i have my iphone 5 and it's from other carrier before then i factory unlocked it. is it going to work on WIND mobility canada?

If your phone is officially unlocked, yes. While Wind is not a supported carrier, they do claim to support the iPhone, but ONLY the iPhone 5, 5C, & 5S.

  • Thunderbolt Not Receiving Texts From Other Carriers

I installed the official firmware release on June 15, 2011. Since then my phone spontaneouly reboots more than ever and I am completelu unable to receive texts from other carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T, ect). I am able to send messages out only. I have rebooted the phone (when it's not doing it all by itself) and tried the *228, Option 2 to update the PRL. No change. Is there any fix for this?

I believe you'll have to take it to a Verizon store, as the *228 method ruins the SIM card for the Thunderbolt

  • Devour - Can't Receive Texts from other Carriers

Lately i've been having issues with receiving texts from other Carriers. I've already reset my phone multiple times, both hard and soft. All applications were deleted, i deleted conversations, wiped all conversations, re-texted the person, and tested who gets what.
    Basically in a nutshell,
T-Mobile, i can occasionally get texts from.
Sprint, AT&T, Virgin, and any and all subsidiaries of forementioned carriers send replies i cannot get.
Every carrier can receive my message. i cannot receive theirs.
Verizon does work - for send and receive.
voicemails do work, i can leave one, and they can call me.
i've tested every method suggested over and over. im at the end of my rope. My job requires that my phone can receive messages from the employees and bosses, and all of them aren't Verizon-based. Somebody, please help. No, getting a new phone isn't feasible, and all my other phones are broken, except this one...and this was the first phone i actually owned three years ago.

  • Not receiving all SMS txt messages from other carriers

I've noticed that i'm not receiving some txt messages from what appears to be Verizon customers.... it happens during pockets of time. I have not been able to track the exact timeframes. is anyone else having sporadic issues receiving SMS from other carriers? i know of atleast 3 friends that have replied to messages from me that i never received the response.

I'm curious. Did you port your number from Verizon when you activated the iphone? I was having the same problem with not being able to receive text messages from my Verizon friends. It turns out Verizon didn't completely disable my number on their end even though the phone number was ported. It took someone from technical support at AT&T to call Verizon while was on the phone and explain the problem to Verizon. Verizon then disconnected my number on its end and it wasn't until then that I started receiving text messages from Verizon users.

  • Can't receive text msgs from other carriers

My carrier is Verizon, and I'm able to receive text msgs from other Verizon carriers. But my problem is that I can't receive text messages from other carriers, such as Tmobile. They can receive my text messages though. I have tried restarting, shutting down and reopening the phone. I've tried calling support, and I logged a ticket. Any idea what to do?

    Hello and welcome to the forums;
I would let Verizon follow up on the ticket you opened with them. Does the incoming text never show up at all? Were you ever a customer of another wireless company and either migrated to Verizon or bought out by Verizon (such as Alltel)? Were you able to get texts on your last phone or is this your first Verizon phone?
Let us know how the ticket goes,

  • Can I Use my Iphone with other carrier after 2 years of contract

    Hi,
I have a iphone purchased a iphone 3 years before with 2 years of service contract is US. My service contract is over and I want to use this phone with other carriers in India. But getting an error Invalid SIM. Please let me know what do I need to do to get it working.

You would have to contact and have the same US mobile carrier that the iphone is locked to "unlock" it.  ONLY that specific carrier can unlock it.  No one else can.
    Hope this helps

  • I erase all content and settings no backup and iphone from other country

    HELP....
im in indonesia,my friend sent me an iphone 3g from japan .Iphone Sim card registered from a japan carrier (SOFT Bank--- Unuseful).
I might have experimented, and just wanting to restore the iphone to its original state, i initiated an "erase all content and settings" and iphone not working.
After putting it in DFU (Device Firmware Update) and restoring it,now only get a images with itunes and usb cable and the option of emergency calls and No other options.
connect with Itunes, says 'SIM card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported
    Anybody can HELP me....
What can I possibly do to fix it??
    THX before

To Restore, you need the SIM card that came with the iPhone. Restoring the phone without a proper SIM card installed (in your case, a SoftBank SIM) 'bricks' the iPhone.
Your phone cannot be used in Indonesia (unless it's linked to a SoftBank account and you're paying the huge bill for international roaming).
Telkomsel cannot change the setting. (Nor will they even service your phone - iPhone warranty coverage is limited to the country of purchase).
As above - send the phone back, get an iPhone from Telkomsel.

  • Blank response in MMS from other Carriers

I can send MMS and receive them from various carriers. However, when I send an MMS to another carrier (Verizon seems to be the issue as of now) and the other person responds to the MMS it comes back to me blank. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone know if this is just a glitch or something that has always happened? This has been going on since October and no one can seem to give me a straight answer.....
    Thank you!

Are you sending to Verizon from other than Verizon and getting a "blank" MMS when the Verizon customer replies?  What MMS one carrier will sen/receive to/from another carrier is in part based upon reciprocity agreements.  Basically carrier "A" tells carrier "B" I will accept MMS without restriction if YOU do the same.  Verizon has buried within their FAQ a chart of the carriers and MMS limitations and/or restrictions.
Is this one Verizon contact or all?  Some individuals do not have other than an SMS capability based upon their account options/limitations.

  • Cannot send/receive messages from other carriers...help!

Has anyone had this problem? If so, please help me out! I can send/receive text messages with other AT&T users but not with any other carriers.
    Thanks!

AT&T will have to fix this issue, same thing happens to me. I call AT&T and told them I can't send or recieve mms from some carriers, AT&T had to update my account somehow they said they use some 3rd party service to direct mms and mine needed a update, they said it takes 24 hours after they notify the other company... My mms is working now for all carriers. Give AT&T a call and they will fix it .

  • Officially unlocked iPhone on other carriers

    Hello,
as I understand iPhones purchased in Italy are officially unlocked. As all iPhones have to be activated, is it possible to activate an unlocked iPhone with a carrier which is not listed on the Apple carrier website ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937 )? Furthermore, if the phone can be activated, are the MMS and tethering functions available in the phone's menu when connected to such a carrier?
    Thanks for your help...

Thank you for your quick replies...
Well, I don't really care about MMS and voicemail(visual voicemail is almost certainly not supported because it's an iphone specific feature), but tethering is really crucial to me as I travel allot and need an internet connection on my laptop. My carrier supports tethering, currently I tether my e71 without any problems. The only question is will I have a menu option in settings on the iPhone to set the tethering and data connection options? I know those options are hidden if you buy a locked one, since they're already set up with the specifications for the carrier the phone is locked to.

  • Don't receive MMS from other carriers (such as Virgin Mobile USA)

My mother has a camera phone from Virgin Mobile USA and sometimes likes to send MMS pictures to me on my BlackBerry (MetroPCS). The problem is, I've never received any. I have also sent MMS to my Berry from my Virgin Mobile phone with the same results.
I do receive picture attachments in email on my Berry, which I suppose is a way around the problem, but am really curious as to why I would not receive MMS pictures.
I am able to send MMS from my BlackBerry such as to YouTube's email upload service.
I disabled the option to block MMS from anonymous numbers as well, so am at a loss.
    Thank you.

Check with you carrier support to know whether intra-operator MMS is supported or not.

  • Since OS4 upgrade can't not recieve MSS messages from other carriers

Since I've uprgaded the OS on my 3GS I have not been able to receive picture messages from my wife's phone (she has T-mobile). She can mms between our kids who also have a t-mobile account. She's had her phone checked out and it's fine.

Yes, I already talked about this to my carrier. Do you think it doesn't have any problem with the phone?

  • IPhone and other carriers

Apple is currently using AT&T as their Phone Carrier.
Will Apple allow other Phone carriers like Alltel to use the IPhone in the future ?
Not everyone want to use AT&T...
    "Thinking Outside the Box"

When Apple's exclusive contract with AT&T expires, the iPhone will not be available with Alltel regardless if Apple renews their contract with AT&T unless Apple decides to produce a CDMA iPhone in addition to a GSM iPhone.
The iPhone is a GSM phone - compatible with GSM network providers only. Not only is AT&T the largest provider in the U.S. in terms of the number of subscribers, they are also the largest GSM network provider in the U.S. and GSM networks dominate the overall worldwide market by a significant margin providing Apple the opportunity to sell the iPhone in many more countries than available with a CDMA iPhone.
Unless Apple decides to produce a CDMA iPhone - which they can't until their exclusive with AT&T expires which I think is doubtful, the only other major GSM network provider in the U.S. is T-Mobile.
The iPhone is not compatible with the network provided by the likes of Verizon, Sprint and Alltel.
