Iphone 5 get stuck while updating to ios 8.1.2

Phone is Stuck at apple logo and Progress bar is not moving Forward from an hour

Reset your phone. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot. Then try to update again. Make sure your internet connection is good.

  • My iPhone got locked while updating to IOS via my laptop. How can I restart my phone

My iPhone got locked while updating to IOS via my laptop. How can I restart my pihone?

Thank you Roger Wilmut. I am grateful for your response.
I bought the iPhone new and set up by myself. I still remember apple id details. The problem is that while the update was on, I needed to enter my apple id on the phone to complete the update my screen lock has been activated. Now the phone only displays the iTunes logo and the USB cable being inserted. But I can still access my the phone contents through my laptop. I need to force the phone to restart. How can I do that?  mind you I have pressed the home and power buttons together for a couple of minutes. It will only display the apple logo for a few seconds and then return to the iTunes and USB cable display. Maybe the phone is hanging. So please help me.
    Thank you very much

  • IPhone 4S is stuck while updating to ios 7

My I tunes is stuck displaying " iTunes is preparing to update the software on this phone" from last 1 hour. I am using iPhone 4S and updating from ios 6.1.2

Try again to connect in recovery mode and restore:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
Has the software on the phone been modified before you tried to upgrade?
Unauthorized modification of iOS can cause security vulnerabilities, instability, shortened battery life, and other issues

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • IPhone 3gs Stuck on Update to IOS 5

Today i wanted to update my 3gs to IOS5.
But now it is stuck :-///
Itunes can't update the iphone, neither in maintance nor in DFU mode.
I only get the maintance mode or an never ending reboot loop.
I tunes reports me an "Unknown error -1"
    That's disgusting...
I tried it on two windows 7 PC's (don't have a mac ) , on each pc with two different sync cables.
Firewall is turned off, tried many reboots, no virus scanner.
I also tried to ping gs.apple.com, which works fine. So there is no connectivity problem ?
Can any give me any hint on what to do ????
    I don't kow what to do :-((((
Heres a part of the logfile which seems to point to the problem

  • IPhone 4 error while updating to iOS 5 - An error occurred while restoring this iPhone (-35).

After taking over an hour to backup and restore my iPhone to iOS 5 iTunes gave me that error:
An error occurred while restoring this iPhone (-35).
    Anyone know what this is?
None of my apps have been restored, or settings.

Try it again. Or un plug and try again.
Sometimes I have found if the server is busy it will not verify the phone and you start to loose things. If a back up was done before upgrade you will not have lost stuff.

  • Iphone doesnt backup while updating to iOS 5.0

    Hello,
When updating to 5.0 iTunes says it has to backup your phone.
When the backup starts it stays put for hours without showing any form of progress.
The "Backing up Iphone" window does not change, no progress at all.
    What can i do?

Same issue. my 32gb iPhone took over an hour on the back up alone, and will all the server failures it took me 10 hours to get upgraded, as I had to back it up over and over.
I started my wifes iPhone overnight and it just hung until the PC rebooted for a windows update. So I restarted it this morning and had only a sliver of green an hour and a half later. Her's is only 16GB and the back up moves MUCH MUCH slower than mine did. I have tried all the mentioned steps, reboots, restarts, even a new cable, but still its so slow it will never complete.

  • Apps getting stuck while updating

    Hi,
My one app got stuck. It still shows "waiting" and does not show what app it is. Not able to delete also.
I was updatign the google app as goggles has come and now the same thing. It is stuck up with waiting sign and does not proceed further. I cannot delete it nor update it futher.
I also tried to sync the iphone with laptop but still the same issue.
Any idea what needs to be done here.

I have been having the same problems & rebooting did not work.  What cured it was going to the app store icon & scroll to the bottom & click on your apple ID.  sign out, then sign back in.  That got mine back to working properly!

  • IPhone stopped working while updating to ios 6.

It won't turn on and doesn't show up on iTunes when connected.
It was fully charged. I tried holding the home and power button simultaneously for upt to 20seconds but nothing happened. HELP!!!

So, my home button has been working fine for the past few days.
Simply plugging it into the computer and doing a regular sync seemed to do the trick.
Like the original poster, I upgraded to IOS6 over wifi and immediately started having problems with the home button being slow or not working at all.  I plugged my iPhone 4 into my Mac with the intent to either restore to a fresh IOS6, or fall back to IOS5 if that didn't work.  I let it sync one last time, but that took a while and I had to unplug and run off to work before doing any kind of restore.
And somehow the home button has been fine ever since (knock on wood).
So, if anybody is having the same problem, and you normally sync and upgrade over wifi, just try plugging it into your computer to see if it works for you.

  • Ipad got stuck when updating to ios 8.1

Is there a way to restore an iPad that gets stuck while updating to the newest ios?

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

  • Hi, my iphone 5 encountered an unknown error while updating to iOS 7 via itunes and is now stuck in recovery mode and prompts me to restore the phone when I connect it to itunes but then I would lose all my data. Any suggestions please?

Hi, my iphone 5 encountered an unknown error while updating to iOS 7 via itunes and is now stuck in recovery mode and prompts me to restore the phone when I connect it to itunes but then I would lose all my data. I DO NOT have any back ups on itunes. Is there anyway to get out of recovery mode without restoring or recover data after a restore?
Or any other suggestions please? Thanks

As pdroth said, you should have gotten a backup made when you started the update of iOS. If you cannot find a backup, and the phone is in recovery mode, there are no futher suggestions to make. To get the phone working again you have to restore. You cannot force a backup at this time since it is already in recovery mode. It will not allow anything else but a restore at this point.

  • Lost all my iphone songs while updating to ios 7. how do I get them back?

I lost all my iphone songs while updating to ios 7. how do I get them back?

Restore the backup you surely made before you updated, as anyone would do before updating any computing device:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • While updating to ios 6 my iphone has crashed

while updating to ios 6 my iphone has crashed, and is now stuck on the installation screen. anyone know what i can do from here?

I'm having the same problems. Can't even find out if Apple is working on it. Tried to downgrade but is not supported by apple so error 3194 comes up which is verifying with the apple web site. Which then stops everything. I understand you can modify the "hosts" file to by pass the issue, but hate doing that as it gets involved. May try it if I can't get any satisfaction from apple.

I have a MacBook 5,1 (13.3" aluminum from 2007 or 2008). Automatic updates will only let me get to OSX 10.5.8.  Can I upgrade to Snow Leopard, Lion 10.6 or even 10.6.8?  Also, will I have any issues with my iPhone if it's updated to iOS 7.1?

The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion or Mountain Lion. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.
You can upgrade direct from 10.6.8 to 10.8 Mountain Lion without going through 10.7 Lion with the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody. The Model 5,1 will probably run 10.9 Mavricks when it comes out.
10.8 Mountain Lion is a download from the App Store, the price is $19.99.
Mountain Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.
As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.8 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Mountain Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Mountain Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.
