Iphone 5 hangs during call being dialed

hello
i am iphone 5 user in India.
the problem that i am facing is that sometimes my iphone drops the call.
the detailed situation is like this when i dial someone's number, iphone says on its screen "Calling" ; but in reality the call never gets connected.
even after few minutes iphone is stuck on the same screen.
and then if you press call end button on it , iphone says "Call Ending..."
and then it is stuck on this Call Ending screen and never comes out.
i contacted the customer care of Apple India and they referred this issue as an iOS 7 bug. and told me to wait as a new update will fix this issue. and also advised me to visit the service centre.
i visited the service centre their too i was conveyed the same message.
then after this two or three updates came from apple and none of them fixed my issue.
so again contacted customer service and spoke to some senior manager.
he took a quick diagnostic test of my iphone and told me that out of 100% ; 3% calls were dropped due to network carrier and 2% calls were dropped by the device itself.
and the strange thing is that instead of focusing on calls dropped due to device he literally did not let me say anything as if he was in a argument with me and just wanted to win it that discussion, kept on saying sir we are sorry the problem is due to the network carrier so please contact them.
I must say he was one stubborn employee who did not wanted to resolve the issue.
And till date my issue is not resolved;
I am using iPhone 5 on iOS 7.0.4

Just dial Write "*#31#".... it worked for me....

  • E71 Hangs During Call Reception

I purchased my Nokia E-71 about three months ago. I expected this phone to be up to par since it is considered an "Enterprise" phone. This my second firmware upgrade. My phone's current version is 200.21.118. To my surprise it hangs during call reception. It totally freezes; even the red power on/off button is not functional. The only resort is to unplug the battery and plug it back on. It's very exasperating to lose a business call, especially if it was an international one.
I call on Nokia to listen and pay attention to their customers and be responsible before it get deserted.

I understand your feelings but this is a user to user forum. There is no guarantee that your concerns will be seen by Nokia here and you will certainly not get a reply from them.
If you wish to contact them, you should use the "Contact us" tab on the top right hand corner of this screen.
With regards your problem, if it only started after the update then it is most probably a software issue which we would hope to help you resolve. We just have to go through a process of elimination, starting with the most likely and least disruptive.  Whatever you do, always remember to backup your data just in case.

  • IPhone 5s - Microphone During Calls

I received my new iPhone 5s today and have encountered an issue. When in the phone app, no one is able to hear me during calls. If I switch to speaker mode however, my voice will be picked up. I've also tested with Siri, and my voice is being picked up there without issue. There was also no issue with my voice being detected in Facetime. As far as I can tell this issue only exists during phone calls without the speaker on.
    - I've upgraded to the latest version of iOS hoping that might resolve it, but no luck.
    - Also, I've tried turning off the noise cancelation feature, but again with no luck.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? What steps would you recommend for resolving this?
    Thanks!

    Hey MKick,
I have found something that may help you fix this problem:

  • Why is my iPhone 5s vibrating during calls

Whenever I am on my iPhone 5s, on a call or listening to VM, it starts vibrating off and on.  I've seen this question before, so I know it's an issue for the 5s, but the last thread I saw had the worst response ever by JudySings.... Something about check a different apple support community.

    Jonathan,
Does this only happen while you a plugged in? If so look at your battery icon, you will probably notice that it is grey. If you wiggle the chord you will see that it goes to green and the lightening bolt appears.  When the lightening bolt appears the tone it vibration happens.  The reason it happens randomly when you don't wiggle it is because it's getting that connection on its own.
My iPhone 5s just started doing this today.  While the phone is unplugged from the USB cable. Attempt a reset on your phone by holding down the power button on the top and the home button on the front together for about 3-5 seconds, the phone should automatically power cycle.  In addition attempt to charge with a different chord.  If you have a case on your phone that has the flap to cover the charging port when it is unplugged, rove the case to make sure that flap isn't pressing on the charger.  Those are the steps that I am following right now. My battery icon is still grey do I continue to search for the next steps.  If I find more I will post it here.  I hope some of that helps.

  • Iphone blank screen during call

I have developed a problem with my iphone over the last few weeks. When I make a phone call the screen blanks out as expected during the call however if I take the phone away from ear to end the call/use keypad etc the screen will not come back? Is anyone lse is experienceing this issue? is there a way to fix it?

Remove the case from your iphone and see if that resolves the issue.
Your case is likely blocking the sensor.

  • IPhone 3GS hanging during 4.0.2 upgrade

Got 4.0.2 through iTunes. Connected my phone. Began the update. 3 hours later the progress bar from iTunes hangs at about 9/10ths of the way through. The progress bar on the iPhone 3GS is at 1/3rd. Finally I give up, force-quitting iTunes. The iPhone goes into restore mode. That's fine, I have a back-up. I try to restore. Same problem with exactly the same amount of progress made. I let it sit for 4 hours this time. No difference. The update still hangs in the same place.
    Any ideas?
I'm tempted to revert to 4.0.1--but the only information I can find is for "jailbreakers" and that's not what I'm interested in. I just want my phone to work.

On a whim, just before checking this response... I went to my old MacBook, updated iTunes and downloaded the 4.0.2 update from there. It worked: On my third attempt. (The first two times it hung at just about the same point.) I'm curious about the reason behind this little nuisance, but my curiosity is assuaged by my suddenly working phone.
    Thanks for replying.

  • Iphone 4s hangs during final step of ios7 upgrade

I am upgrading a 4s to iOS7 using the sync cable and Windows.  The upgrade process seemed to go fine but now (in what I assume is the last step) the phone seems to be frozen.  The apple logo is on the screen and a progress bar is below it.  The bar appears to be at or close to 100% complete but it has sat like this for over an hour.  The phone is not showing up in iTunes and is still plugged in with the sync cable.
What should I do?  unplug?  power off?  I'm scared to do so because I don't want to brick the phone since it is apparently still in the upgrade phase...

I had the same problem except my progress bar was stuck at 50%. After waiting 10 hours for completion, I assumed my iPhone was bricked. However, I plugged into my PC and started iTunes (which required an update to iTunes 11.1) then plugged in my phone. iTunes could see my phone and read its OS and IOS7. Since I figured I had nothing to lose, I reset the iPhone by pressing the power and home buttons simultaneously and holding them down until the iPhone reset. When it booted back up it was okay and running the new install of IOS 7. Don't know why it hangs at the end of the upgrade. Hopefully your's will be okay after a reset.

  • My iPhone keeps freezing during calls

Its been getting worse. Every call I am on, the phone goes silent & neither myself or the other person can hear anything at all, it does come back sometimes. Other times it shows call failed. My phone is now out of warranty too. Can you also give me a rough idea of a cost to get it looked at? Can I go to a genius bar & get a quote?

Apple doesn't repair or service iPhones - only replaces them with refurb units.  An out of warranty replacement for an iPhone 4 is $149 in the USA.
Did you try basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appenix B?  Reset phone, Reset Network Settings, Restore in iTunes using a backup, Restore as new, without using a backup

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.

  • My iphone keeps hanging out during a call

My iphone keeps hanging out during a call; sometimes 5 to 6 times during one call.

Hanging out during a call?  Sounds like a teenager.   Or do you mean hanging up?
You're sure you're not hitting it with your chin or something?

  • IPhone 4 Mic & Speaker not Working during Call

    Hello All,
I have iphone 4 and it was locked on at&t and was running ios 5.0.1, now i have unlocked my iphone and now i am using ios 5.1.1. But i have a problem, when i call someone i cant hear anything "no dial tone sound and no sound during call" & speaker mode is also not working and nor the person cant hear my voice. I also tested on my another phone but same problem.....
So can you tell me is this a hardware problem or software problem ?? and yeah i can record voice memos and i can listen my memos with speaker on and off
    Waiting for reply....

Do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide:
    1.  Reset iPhone (no data loss): Press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
    2.  Restore in iTunes using a backup
    3.  Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup.
If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure.

  • IPhone 5c IOS7.0.3, other people can no longer hear me during calls unless I tap into speaker mode and back?

    Hi,
I'm currently using an iPhone 4S, but my partner has just bought an iPhone 5c. A while ago, before the IOS7 upgrade, my phone would for some reason act as if I had clicked mute during calls. Nobody would hear me, but I could hear them perfectly. The only fixes were to hang up and recall them back, or to switch it to speaker mode and back again. Very annoying. However, after updating my IOS, it suddenly stopped doing this. It was fixed, I was happy, game on.
But recently, my partners phone which was working perfectly fine before the new IOS7.0.3 update, has developed this problem. Exact same issue, exact same solution. I wouldn't mind so much, but shes bought this phone in the last month, its a brand new phone, new software, new model... It shouldn't still be doing this! Whats worse is that when driving, its very dangerous for her to have to keep switching between speaker and not just to get her phone working. (She drivers with the phone in a cradle with hands free on).
This issue is... Annoying. I've found that its not exactly a rare thing, and that a lot of people have had it for quite a while, but the only solution I've seen is to open the back of your phone and cover a certain part with paper/cardboard... Not exactly what we want to do is it.
Does anybody have any advice or a solution to this, as I'm going a little crazy trying to reset everything and fix it!
    Thanks in advance!

Same issues here. Sometimes during outgoing calls, people cannot hear me at all, even when the signal strength is good. Only solution is to soft reset the phone. A couple of times the person could hear me for the first few seconds of the call then it dropped completely.
I also experience the issue with the 3G data as you described (I think they are related... i.e., when the 3G data isn't working, the issues with outgoing calls exists too). The phone will just randomly seem to lose it's internet connection, even with full signal strength. Soft reset/toggling airplane mode fixes this.
I called Apple support; they asked if I was covering the microphone during outgoing calls (as if I'm that stupid). Come on Apple, I have a University degree in Computer Engineering, don't insult my intelligence! They then asked me to restore the phone (which I already did). Next solution they offered me was to replace the phone by sending me a new one first (at a cost of $35), or I could send it back and be phoneless for a week while they send a new one (which is not an option for me). I also put on a $30 Invisibile Sheild so if I exchange it, I already lose that. I believe the issue is not with the hardware, since the microphone seems to work just fine. Given that it is intermittent like this, it seems there's a software/firmware error somewhere that gets the phone into a bad state.
Very disappointed that the $800 phone I just bought functions worse for phone calls than the Nokia brick I had 8 years ago.
If anyone has a permanent solution for this that doesn't involve exchanging the phone, please let me know.
