IPhone 5 has started rebooting randomly!!!

My iPhone 5 (Model: A1429) had developed a quite strange and very annoying problem lately. It was running on iOS 7.0.4 when the problem started. I have been trying to recreate it but it happens randomly. I have concluded that the reboot intensifies when the iPhone looses service signal but it can happen anytime. Browsing the Internet, using apps, playing games...where ever I am it will reboot at some point. It reboots more than 20 times a day depending on usage. I had updated it to iOS 7.0.6 in hopes of a fix, but the problem is still here. Any idea why?

Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • My iPhone 5 has started to randomly just shut off

It's just turns off and I have to hold the home button and the On/Off button down at the same time to get it restarted.  I was wondering what this means?

    Hi,
According to the article below, if your device is up to date, then you may need to contact Apple Support.
If your iOS device restarts, displays the Apple logo, or powers off while you're using it

  • My iPhone 3Gs has started crashing when using apps once the battery gets down to around 80%.

My iPhone 3Gs has started crashing when using apps once the battery gets down to around 80%. Sometimes it will reboot on its own, and other times you have to leave it for an hour or so and then manually turn the phone on again. Any ideas?

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again?

What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? The steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Understand that a restore will put the latest iOS on your device. It is also possible there is a hardware fault on the device and the Bluetooth is failing. Anything is possible given the scenario you describe.
And as far as iOS 7.x is concerned, we have 5 different iPhones here at home, all with the latest iOS, a 4, 4s, 5c, and 2-5s and all are working just fine. So, a blanket statement such as the one provided by the other poster is not completely true. Others are not having any issues at all either.

I had the same problem (freezing iphone when trying to unlock) today.
    1) I made a backup of my iphone using itunes.
    2) Went to my service provider and made a sim swap. So, I think there was a problem with the nano simcard.
    Problem solved.

  • My iPhone 6 has started getting really hot when I am on the phone.  Any thoughts?

My iPhone 6 has started getting hot when I make calls.  It does not do this when I am using my apps.  Thoughts?

Oh no! I know that the iPhone 6 is one of the hottest smartphones but I didn't mean literally! Let's cool things off with your phone. Have you adjust your setting to extend battery life? If not, here's a link to check out, http://apple.co/1xnEkjF. Also, do you close out the apps that are running in the background to ensure proper resource management? Here's a link on how to do so as well. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5137. Once you have done so, please retest & keep us posted.
    Thank you…

  • My iphone 5 has been calling random people...

So my iphone 5 has been calling random people (not in my contact lists). There is no history of it on my phone records when I called Verizon. It happened the first time in January (2013) on my iphone 4, but I had a phone upgrade, so I just got that. How can I make it stop? Or how can I figure out if I have a bug/virus on my phone? Maybe from a specific app?

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
    Restart / Reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Backing up, Updating and Restoring
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you try all these steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • My iPhone 6 has started bending not massively but can be seen if looked at, I've only had the phone less then a month which I'm disappointed about as I've paid £619 for it, can you advise me on what to do?

    iphone6 has started bent... HELP!!!

My iPhone 6 is also bent, on the top of the phone. Here is my sad story...
I had the phone in my coat pocket and it felt funny so I pulled it out of its Otterbox to find it was bent.
I dont know how it was bent.
I went to the ATT store where I bought it and where I insured it (5 days old)
They told me to go 40 miles to an Apple Store and see a Genius for a replacement.
Since I had to work all week and didnt have the time to go 40 miles away, I asked them if there was any other option.
They told me to contact the insurance company and they would overnight me a phone, so I contacted the insucance company.
Was not apple care, it was another name...
The insurance company asked for a scan of my DL, a photo of the phone and a photo of the receipt, I provided all three.
Good news!!! for 199.00 they would replace my phone...(I paid 45.00 for the phone)
Shaking my head, I decided to make an appointment with an Apple Genius.
Mind you I have been a purchaser of apple products for 20 years, and had iPhones for many years so far...no reason to think anything odd so far.
I get to the mall, see a Genius who looks at my phone and states "Apple does not replace bent iPhones" I asked why was I told to see her then and waste my day driving out to the mall? she had no idea. She said she would happily replace my phone for 299.00 and walked away...Freehold Raceway Mall NJ
She was rude, then another Genius asked me if I wanted to buy a new phone I said NO! he then asked if there was anything else other wise I should just go...
Yea, rude again...so me and my bent iPhone that turns off all the time are out of luck...

  • MSi GE60 0ND - Fan has started to randomly speed up slow down

    MSi GE60 0ND-463UK
    I7 3630QM
    GTX660M
    Windows 8 64 bit
As of yesterday, my laptop has started to weirdly (under no loading on GPU or CPU, CPU 20% max during HD video watching on Youtube/Twitch.tv) causing my fan to go from being quiet to shoot up in speed, this seems to stop when plugged in but when on battery power it's becoming more frequent. The only thing that is being done on the laptop when this happens is internet browser use.
I cleaned my laptop 2 days before yesterday so it can't be a heat issue or dust issue. I'm quite clueless right now. I'm not what else to tell you, as that's all I've done. No updates to windows, no software updates on anything for over a week now I believe. Cable issue maybe?
Hope I can get some info on this.

Yes, indeed the MSI download servers seems to be crapped out right now.
But i have a backup of wanted firmware at my PC,
im attach it here for you.
For flashing you can use >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
point to mode 1 then point to archive file.
wait the USB key to be prepared, then reboot your notebook.
go in BIOS setup, then set boot mode to legacy,
then save and exit, and press F11 at bios post/logo screen for BBC popup with storages,
when USB key appear choose it to boot from it and proceed with update
USB prepared properly according to the Software. Restarted my laptop
Legacy mode engaged, saved ad exited, pressed F11, found my USB Kingston, and this is the message I received when selected. Not quite sure what it meant but clearly something is wrong.

Reboot and select proper boot device
or insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press any key.
(I did want ot upload the picture but it's taking forever for some reason)
I did select my "Kingston" USB option in boot device options.

  • IPhone 4S has started randomly asking for passwords; saying they're wrong

    Hi Folks,
I don't normally post to these forums because I tend to solve my own issues, but I'm having a problem with my iPhone 4S which has stumped (and angered) me.
The device is running version 6.0.1 and isn't jailbroken or interfered with in any way.
A couple of days ago it started asking me to input the password for both my me.com and gmail.com accounts and when I did as prompted the device tells me that they're wrong - but they aren't! The issue means that I can't access either of my email accounts from my device and I can't download apps that I've previously bought and paid for.
    I have tried:
    Restoring the device
Deleting both accounts from the device and starting again
Using the Google captcha to give the device access permissions again
    Rebooting
Turning off 2-step security on Google
    Changing my me.com password
    Changing my Google password
So far none of these have worked and I'm rapidly approaching my wits-end whereupon I hoy the device full pelt at a wall and buy something else.
Could anyone shed a little light (or sanity) to this issue?
    Thanks in advance.

This issue is still a real pain in the arse - does anyone have any ideas?
Thought of asking Apple but was told that I'd have to pay them just to ask a question about a flaw with one of their products! Great customer service.
