IPhone 5 in Verizon
hi i have the iPhone 5 bought it on the net as seond hand, i found out that its locke on verizon, but its unlocked in GSM, i can use it with other GMS carrier here in the middle east, but as far as i know my phone is under verizon even its unlocked, im not the owner who purchased it in verizon, so it means that this iphone have monthly bills what if no body pay for it, will the phone will be locked??
if its CDMA only, why its working with other GSM carrier?
some one told me that iPhone 5 in Verizon is GSM unlock even it is under contract,

I tried doing my backup restore on the same computer as I once did a year ago. and THis time I cant do the restore on the iphone.

I do not wish to go to ios 7 at this time.Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue continues, contact the carrier to troubleshoot the network connectivity issues. -

Number one - that person has given you false information...the Apple store genius bar supports all Apple products whether in or out of warranty. Checking is free, service on an out of warranty item is not free.
Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
Since you show that you have iOS 7.0.3 you might want to update that iOS to 7.0.4...plug the iPhone in so you are on a solid power source, then while on a WiFi go to Settings > General > Software Update and update to 7.0.4. -

Well, you managed to find this support forum didn't you and you have an internet connection don't you? Then if you have all these things, go and find the number by going to the Verizon website and it should not be hard to find the number.
As for speaking English, this is not really our problem and it is surely something that you should have thought about before buying the phone in the first place.
You also need to know that Verizon in the US is a cdma operator and if you purchased an iPhone 4s, then it should not be locked. The Verizon 4s comes with a sim card tray that should be unlocked out of the box for use internatinoally on gsm networks, so all you should need to do is open the sim card tray and insert a sim card and you should pick up the local gsm network.
A cdma phone does not actually use a sim card, so there would be no original sim card with the phone because when it is used in the US it will pick up the Verizon cdma network without a sim card. The sim card is only for use on a gsm network which will not work in the US, but is designed to work outside the US. Open the sim card tray and insert your own local sim card and the phone should work and should not be locked.
Other than this, if you purchased the phone in the first place, it is the responsibility of the previous owner to cancel the Verizon contract. This is nothing to do with you, so contact the seller and ask them.
Other wise, go to the Verizon website and look up the number and call them. As they are the phone company, ultimately, they are the only ones who can help you. -

I created a new contact on my iPhone and a different one in my calendar on the MB. Connected iPhone to the MB and synched/backedup. However, I can't find my iPhone contact in MB AddressBook and vice versa. Did the backup work? I cannot afford to lose my calendar, contacts, etc when I get my new iPhone 5. thanks!

IPhone 4 (Verizon) Screen burn-in
I noticed on my iPhone 4 (Verizon) that part of the screen (from the lower left corner to the top right corner) has what looks like a gesture burn-in/blemish no matter how I try to clean off the touch screen but it would not remove.
Im not sure if its from an App/Game I was using but I'm curious how it could burn-in/blemish like that? is there a way to get that repaired?

The 4G LTE SIM card in your device contains information about your plan, device and more. You can set a SIM PIN so others won’t be able to access that information if your SIM card is removed from your device.
If you remove your SIM card and insert it another device (e.g., when you upgrade to a new device), you’ll be asked for the SIM card PIN. You can find your SIM card PIN in My Verizon if you’ve forgotten it. Or, if you’ve entered your SIM card PIN unsuccessfully 3 times, you’ll need the PIN Unblocking Key (PUK) to unlock your SIM card again. After using the PUK, you’ll need to create a new PIN for your SIM card if you want to secure it again.
To locate the SIM PIN / PUK numbers for your 4G LTE SIM card:
Navigate to the Overview page in My Verizon.
Click My PIN and Unblocking Key (PUK) under About My Device.
Your default PIN and PUK will be displayed in a pop-up window.
Click Close when you’re finished to return to the My Verizon Overview page.
You’ve successfully located your SIM PIN and PUK. -

How do you update icloud with contacts transferred to Iphone by Verizon? The only contacts that show up in icloud are the ones I entered myself to the phone.
You'll need to copy them to iCloud in order to see them on your PC. To do this, do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup. Use this to backup the remaining contacts on your phone (from Verizon) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the Verizon contacts back to your phone. They should now be in iCloud, and appear on your PC. You may see duplicate contacts on your phone because you are still viewing both the contacts from Verizon as well as the copies now in iCloud.
Open Contacts on your phone and tap Groups, tap the Groups that were imported from Verizon so they are unchecked and tap Done. This will hide them from view and illiminate the duplicates. -

You cannot unlock the CDMA side of your iPhone. Verizon does supposedly unlock the GSM SIM slot for international use after you have been a client in good standing for a certain period. You would need to talk to Verizon about that - the are the only ones who can help you with that.

How have you tried to unlock the phone? A Verizon iPhone 4s should have a sim card tray that is already unlocked for international use, so you don't actually need to unlock the phone - should be unlocked out of the box, but if you have approached anyone else other than Verizon themselves, then you have hacked the phone, so the chances are that it will not work.
If you want to use the phone legitimately, then contact Verizon - there are no unlock codes and these codes will come from hackers who claim to be able to unlock your phone and will charge you through the nose, but will not, so if you ever update your phone, then it will lock. -

Your question has been answered. Jailbreaking cannot be discussed here. If you buy a phone locked to a carrier, it would be down to them to unlock it, and that's very unlikely if you've only just got the phone. Locked phones are "cheap" for a reason - you're signing up for a contract and that subsidises the cost of the phone.
