Iphone 5: Incoming Calls won't go through.

Hello everyone,
I purchased the Iphone 5 about 1-2 weeks ago and so far i love it. However as of recently i've been expeirencing a few issues where incoming calls won't go through.
I'll try my best to break it down:
Someone calls me.
Phone "rings" on their side.
My iPhone doesn't ring.
I get no notification of a missed call, and maybe a few minutes later i'll be alerted to a missed call or a voicemail.
I've tested various things that i assume would cause the issue, but so far none of them seem to be the case.
I even went to Verizon (a few minutes ago actually) and they did a soft-reset (pretty much what i did prior) and soon as i got home i called the phone and nothing went through. I waited about a minute, called again, and then i rang. However seconds later i tried calling again, and it didn't ring.
Also it happens are random times. First insident was a few nights ago around 10 PM. Then again a few days ago around 3 PM and finally this morning around 8-8:30 AM.
No my "Do not disturb" isn't on.
I have good (if not great) connection.
At home the phone is always on WiFi
Yes i've tried turning off LTE.
Yes i've done a network reset.
Yes, phone is up to date.
One question i have is could it be only having this issue at my house? I have no way of testing if it only happens at my home (cause no one really has that kind of time to waste with me lol) so i'm not sure.

I want to ensure those important calls get through Huxable! I understand why you are concerned!
My first recommendation would be to make sure you are power cycling the device(turning off and on) at least once a day. This allows the device to refresh with the network and update the tower information on 4G handsets.
Second, it will definitely be valuable to test the device in different locations to determine whether it is a location issue versus an equipment issue. If this happens in multiple locations for example, it is likely device related.
If you find the issues occur mainly inside your home, the network extender accessory is an excellent option to boost indoor signal strength.

  • Iphone 5c incoming calls on bluetooth car speakers not by default

OK i have a vw jetta 2012, used to have incoming calls answered on bluetooth by default.
Nowdays, since I have iPhone 5c, incoming calls, sound on speakers, but as soon as I answered, sound goes back to phone, then I need to change to vw phone by hand to hear conversation on the car speakers. Well tha's not safe, neither hands free calls, need help

We had the problem with our new iPhone 5 using i.o.s.6.0.1.  So we updated to 6.0.2 and the problem continues. Sure worked great with the iPhone 4s though.
Makes me think we shouldn't have moved to the iPhone 5.

Slide up from the bottom of your display to access the control panel.
Look for the button (should be at the top) that shows a crescent moon.
Tap that button. It should say "Do not Disturb: Off".
Then try it out and let us know if it worked.

  • IPhone 5s incoming call rings on both headsets and speaker while headsets plugged in

Why my iphone 5s rings on both speaker and headsets in incoming call, while the headsets plugged in the phone?

    Hi Lucasethio,
That is expected behavior on a non-muted iPhone. If you mute/silence the ringer with the side switch, you should still hear the ringer through any plugged in headsets as well. You may also find the following article helpful:

  • IPhone 5 incoming calls go straight to voicemail in certain areas

I know that this issue has been reported by many users in this and other forums, but I thought I would share my story too.
I have a iphone 5 that is exhibiting the following issues:
    - When I am downtown Boston and certain areas in MA, incoming calls go straight to voicemail.  The phone does not ring and the only way to tell if people called me is if they leave a voicemail
    - When I make calls, my phone numbers shows as blocked at the receiving end.  So if people block anonymous calls then  I won't be able to call them
I opened a ticket with VZW and this is what has been done so far to no avail:
    - Got a replacement phone
    - Changed the SIM card
    - Verizon Re-provisionned the phone number
    - Disabled LTE
    - Reset Network Settings
    - Power cycle the phone (many many times)
Verizon said my issue is due to network extenders in the area.  Well, if this is true then thousands of VZW customers would have this issue as network extenders are all over the place in Boston. So far VZW does not have a solution to my problem.
My next step is to reactivate my old iPhone 4S to see if it is a iPhone5 issue or something else.  will keep you posted.

If they say they did, ask them to re-provision the account. Sometimes errors occur and the account is not provisioned correctly, even though features are included in your plan according to the billing system.

  • Ios 5.1 worst iphone 4s incoming call no audio for caller for 3-5 sec

i bought iphone 4s (ios 5.01) jan 2011. for the date of purchase i had problems form the date of purchase. There was no service (network issue) and i thought it would be my new sim card. but i tried it on my wife's mobile it worked well(no issue). i gave to showroom and booked for a complaint and after 2 weeks they called me and said they have updated to ios 5.0.1 (9a405). i had no more issues with the network but i had issues in outgoing calls. Whenever i call someone they wont be able to hear me for first few seconds(2-4 secs) and i stared to talk after 3 secs regularly(since the customer care is worst here i dont want to give and wait for another 3 weeks where i wont get right solution too). Later i had a ios update (ios 5.1) meesage while my phone was connected to wifi. i thought it will solve the issue (after reading some reviews) and updated to ios 5.1 which is what i am using right now. But now i have more issues than before.
    1. The screen goes blank(dark screen) when i try to call back (i.e after call busy) 2-3 times. then i have to press home button and once again i have to open call button(green layer which will be on top just like on call) and hang up and try once again.
    2. Sometimes my network drop zero then start searching network display no service for few second and then the network once again appear while on call(no issue with network provider i checked with other phone which is working well)
    3. Now when there is incoming call there will no audio for caller(not me) for 2-5 sec (i did a count..ha..ah) they wont be able hear.
i did try reset to factory setting, no other apps installed.  did try everything and nothing helped..i am also lazy to write this but no way to find a solution..pls do help and sort the issues permanently..
iphone is costly only because its an apple product and for its ios which is faliure now. so i suggest them to reduce the price and shouldnt say they are the trend setter or innovative anymore..worst ios and i have read many reviews and i know there are people who dont want to waste time/lazy by writing the review..but they need soultion..i am ashamed of my iphone which i bought 45000 rs when compared to 15000rs samsung product with no issues like these..

i have 3 problems listed below while using iphone 4s with ios 5.1 version
    1. The screen goes blank(dark screen) when i try to call back (i.e redialing 2-3 times). then i have to press home button and once again i have to press call button(sometimes green layer which will be on top of the screen) and press red button to close the call and try once again.
    2. Sometimes my network drop zero then start searching network then display no service for few second and then the network once again appear (no issue with the network provider i checked with other phone which is working fine)
    3. When there is incoming call the people on the other end of the call (caller and not me) cant hear for first 2-5 sec (i did a count..ha..ah) they wont be able hear.
    Is it clear now buddy....

  • SIP incoming call, won't work (CME)

    Hi all,
I'm facing a weird problem and the sip-provider can't help. I suppose there is a problem with the dial-peer/translation-rule but I can't figure it out...
There is a CME (c2800nm-ipvoice-mz.124-11.XW10.bin, CME Version 4.2(0)) with a
    SIP trunk.
    Outgoing calls are working (DID).
Incoming calls (all DID) are ringing on the same internal number.
    The situation:
    - external  call on 0815440097 is ringing on the internal nr. 296 (should be 297)
    - external call on 0815440096 is ringing on the internal nr. 296

    Thanks,
    Norbert

    Hi Alex,
    Thank you for the reply.
After changing the "incoming called-number" I got the same output.
The weird think is, why the dial-peer debug shows the 0815440096 number, despite the right "to: number" in the SIP-Message.
Is there a problem with the "voice service voip" or "sip-ua"?
on the voice translation debug I see:
    Match Rule=DP_MATCH_TO_URI; URI=sip:0815440097
    Match Rule=DP_MATCH_FROM_URI; URI=sip:0819262424
But I guess the translation rule is maching this one:
    Match Rule=DP_MATCH_INCOMING_DNIS; Called Number=0815440096
So how can the voice translation rule be set to map the entry DP_MATCH_TO_URI; URI=sip:0815440097
    Thanks for the help.
    Regards,
    Norbert

  • Dubious communication between iPad and iPhone on incoming call

I'm owner of an iPad and an iPhone, both running iOS 8.1.3 although this phenomenon did already appear with earlier iOS versions.
In the following scenario something weird is happening:
My iPad is at home in a private network (192.168.x.0) and has the address 192.168.x.y.
My iPhone is at office in a private network (10.0.1.0) and has the address 10.0.1.z)
Someone is calling me on my iPhone
Now the iPad tries to communicate with my iPhone by sending an ip packet from ip/port 192.168.x.y:57864 to ip/port 10.0.1.z:58590. Normally it is not possible to communicate between private networks directly, i.e. this packet makes no sense and would be discarded by my home router.
In this special case however, there is a VPN connection between my home and my office networks. Thus the packet is not discarded but forwarded by VPN from my home to my office network. The office firewall however is treating this packet as an attack and thus triggering an alarm mail to the admin.
The iPad appears to know the iPhone's address (probably through iCloud) although I'm in my office (together with my iPhone ).
It is trying to communicate with the iPhone using private network addresses which in general is not possible. This is why I suspect that there is a bug somewhere in the FaceTime / telephony protocol.
I could change some of our firewall rules to avoid the alarm mail but that is not the point here.
Can someone explain if the behaviour described above makes sense in any situation or if it's really a bug (as I'm suspecting)?

You can disagree all you want, It will not change the truth. a VPN Brdiges two networks so that the remote one can use the local one as if it where physically there. From Wikipedia's page on VPNs:
A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, such as the Internet. It enables a computer or network-enabled device to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if it were directly connected to the private network, while benefiting from the functionality, security and management policies of the private network.[1] A VPN is created by establishing a virtual point-to-point connection through the use of dedicated connections, virtual tunneling protocols, or traffic encryptions.
    VPN Definition
If you are facetime-ing to a friend not on the same VPN or network, Facetime uses a connection Via Apple servers to establish a connection to the other user. Since there is no way for your iPad to know the internal network IP address of the other user. And which would also be pointless, since the only thing available to the outside world is the routers public IP. What IP they have in their network is irrelevant to Facetime. Facetime connects through Apple Servers, not directly by IP.
However, an iPhone and a iPad using Continuity are connected through iCloud. Since Apple has not published any specs on how continuity works, I can only surmise from what I see on my devices that when they are connected to the same network both devices are aware of each other. How I cannot say. but they are, otherwise Continuity would not work.

I continue to claim that there is a bug in the FaceTime / Continuity protocol. Two iOS devices must not try to communicate with each other using private ip addresses when they are not sure that they are in the same network.
That is where your theory falls. The VPN means they are for traffic purposes on the same network. i.e they can communicate with each other. Expecting them not to when the VPN is active is wrong.
Again the fact that it is being flagged as an attack is the issue. Everything else is working as designed. What you expect should happen simply does not match what actually should happen and is happening.
Just like your computer can use office resources from home through the VPN, so can the iPad. Since the resource its looking for is your iPhone it sends packets to it.
    This is not a bug.
You can send Apple feedback if you wish. But there's nothing at all wrong with what is happening.,
If you do not want this traffic, then disconnect the iPad from your Wifi network before leaving, or turn off the VPN on your home network so there is no access to the office network.

  • Incoming calls does not patch through..

    Hi,
So I have had a problem that people have tried to call me for some weeks now but their calls is directed to the answering machine instead of being connected to my phone. Only sometimes they are able to get through. My phone has been on, its been on a dock during the nights with its alarm activiated and recharging.
To my knowledge I don´t have any settings that says it should do it like this.
Its kind of frusterating, can someone help me? What is wrong?
    I have an Iphone 4.

Try resettings your network settings on your iPhone Settings>General>Reset>Reset network settings, if that doesnt work contact your carrier

  • Iphone 5s incoming call number displays incorrectly.

Whenever I call my wife's Iphone from work, the number displays incorrectly on her caller ID.  It is always dropping the third number of the area code, so if my work number was 123-456-7890, then when I call her it shows up on her phone as 124-567-890, it doesn't even show a ten digit number.  So far I have noticed that it only happens when I call her from the landlines at my work.  I also have the exact same iphone 5s on the same carrier and the numbers display perfectly fine on my phone so I feel like it's some setting in the phone.  Before switching to an iphone we had her contacts imported from an old Verizon flip phone, not sure if that has anything to do with it.  Has anyone seen or heard of a similar issue?
    Thanks,
    Dan

By the way I have completely reset all content and settings several times, tried turning off international assist, tried several suggestions I found online dealing with the sim pin, switched to a different phone to have the same thing happen on that phone also.  I have the same exact iphone 5s and carrier and service plan and the numbers appear perfectly on my phone.  I'm so confused why this is happening.

  • IPhone 5 incoming calls/outgoing calls

Sometimes when I answer to a phone call on my iPhone 5, I hear my own voice instead of the voice of the person whos calling. This also happens on outgoing calls. How can you explain this? Whats happening?

I have the exact same problem, I can't hear anyone and they can't hear me. It happened right after I updated my iPhone 5 to the iOS 7.1.1 version. Could that be the problem? I hope apple fixes this update right away.

  • I did an update to my wife's iPhone and now it won't connect through the 3G. It says you are not connected to a cellular data service

I Updated my wife's iPhone the other to the new operating system. It asked me first to use iCloud backup so I did. After the update was complete my wife can use wifi but when we try the 3G it says you are not connected to a cellular data service.
IT shows Bell as the provider but we seem to have lost something during this update.
    can someone help me please.

Check Settings>General>Cellular and make sure Cellular Data is set to On.  If it is, try putting it in Airplane mode for 15 seconds, then turn Airplane mode off again.  If it persists, give you carrier a call to confirm that it's properly activated with them and that your data plan is properly provisioned.

  • Why do I get a two tone beeping sound when trying to call my wife's Iphone 5c?  Call does not go through.

Has anyone ever gotten a two tone beeping sound when trying to call an Iphone on the Verizon network?  The call never connects, just the beeping sound.

I would try deleting her contact and then re-adding it.

  • I have a Galaxy Stellar, and when I went to make a call today, the call won't go through.

When I select the phone option, I get a menu with 3 options: 1. Use touch tone Keypad, 2. Return to call in progress, or 3. Add call. If I choose one of these options, I go back to my home screen. At the home screen, the top row with the little icons, it shows a phone, and when I pull down the menu, it gives me several options: 1. The green phone icon for making a call, a mute button, a speaker button, and an end button. None of these work.  I get sent back to my home screen. Help!
p.s. Account is current.  I have tried calling my phone from other phones, cell and land line, and it just rings, but my Galaxy doesn't ring...just goes directly to voice mail.

Issue resolved....turned phone off and back on, and everything is A Okay.

  • I have recently downloaded 4.3.3 (I think this is the most recent) on my iPhone 4, however it won't play through my docking station even when it's charging! How can I fix this?

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this?

I didn't think of this earlier, but if it makes any difference: the PC I'm running iTunes on and have had this iPhone connected to is running Windows 7 Ultimate.
