IPhone 5 interferring with my Comcast cable tv.

When I send or receive a text ,turn phone on or off, answer or receive a phone call - my cable goes out momentarily. The cable guy was just here and confirmed this, he called his supervisor and this is the first Comcast has seen or heard of this problem.  It only interferes with the small cable box.  The main tv and big cable box are not affected. 

Comcast was just here again.  He had a special tool, tightened all cable lines- everywhere! Now it seems to be better, still some pixelation when I make or receive a phone call.  But at least it isn't going to black screen.  Comcast is also going to replace the outside cable from a 6 to a 12 , some kind of fiber that is bigger.  He thinks this will resolve the remaining problem.

    I have a problem with a Comcast cable connection and an EzVPN. Simply put the connection drops within minutes of no activity. In other words, if I leave an RDP connection open from my datacenter to the remote site, the VPN connection will stay open all the time. A few minutes after I close the connection the VPN drops and the remote side has to wait until its keys timeout to reconnect (obviously without a reset).
    I have multiple sites connecting to the EzVPN server without issues from multiple carriers. This one Comcast connection seems to be an issue. I've verified that the configurations for other DHCP based cable connections and this one are the same (except for local parameters). I've also run PING tests to test reliability and MTU issues. For the reliability I do have 1 - 2 packets out of 200 consistently dropping with a 2 second timeout value for the PING. (This is pinging the next hop router on the connection.) For MTU I was able to PING with packet sizes all the way up to 1500 bytes with the DF bit set.
    So, I'm looking for any direction on this issue.

  • IPhone/iPad interfering with Airport Express

    Hello all
    I've been using Airtunes on a AE successfully for a while on a Netgear wireless network. Using Remote is just a joy to behold. So recently invested in another device for the kitchen. This works fine until I get near it with something else that wants to use the network. For instance using Remote on either the iPhone or iPad will cause the AE to lose the connection. This doesn't happen to my other AE in the living room. Both are setup exactly the same i.e. joining the existing network, similar distances from my Netgear router. I've tried switching off the "Allow Ethernet Clients" but still get the same results. Any ideas?
    I've tried searching on the forum, but can't find anything similar.

    For people who search this forum later, this is how I resolved it:
    1. On my Netgear router I selected channel 11. The default was "Best Channel"
    2. Rescanned my Mac to find the new network
    3. Factory reset all of my AEs (I have 3 in my house) and set them up again
    4. Bob is your father's brother. I don't know how the iPhone was interfering with the AEs, or whether it was a red herring on a noisy channel

    Plug it in a wait for 15 minutes.  If the charge indicator doesn't show, try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Has anyone had a problem with iphone 4Gs interfering with wireless routers on a desktop system?

      I'm currently having a problem with my iphone 4Gs shutting down my wireless router when it's within ten or fifteen feet of the unit.  I discovered this over the last few days thinking it was a problem with the router, it wasn't till today I realized that it might have been the iphone doing it.  It will scramble the router (at&t) within a few minutes of when you have the iphone on.  Turning off the iphone will allow the router to work again.
      I don't have the problem if I'm 25-30 feet or more away from it.
      It's an odd thing, a puzzle that neither apple or at&t has posted any info on the situation, particularly apple since these smart phones are the latest technology.

  • I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4S. My old iPhone had been unable to sync for some time and I blamed it on the faulty cable. With my new cable I tried to sync the 3 before advancing to the 4S to be sure I had all my data. Will not sync.

    Now that I have my new iPhone, I would like to first sync the old phone so all the data will be available for the new phone. I would also like to have an extra copy of my audio ebooks on the old iPhone so my husband and I can both listen at the same time using earphones while driving long distances in the car and then discuss the book. We have been unable to do this with the old iPhone alone due to constant road noise.

    When you say it ignores your iPhone, do you mean it does not appear in iTunes if you launch iTunes? Or it does not appear in Finder? Or does not appear in iPhoto? Or you get an error message?

    Theres almost a trick to it for first time users, goto SETTINGS...General......Cellular (if Verizon) ....Personal Hotspot, turn it on.....turn on wifi on your Mac, select your Iphone.  Enter password.
    If you take too long doing it, youll need turn turn off and on real quick the "personal hotspot" slider on the Phone.......then go quick again thur the Mac.

    Go ahead and return the iPod AV cable, it won't work with the iPhone. It only works with the iPod with color display and iPod Video.

  • Comcast Cable Internet not working with router (WRT54G), but network is fine?

    My Comcast Cable Internet is not working with my router (WRT54G), but my home network is fine. The internet works without router.
    I have a WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router from Linksys.
    I was using Bellsouth DSL Internet up until two weeks ago.
    I had my DSL modem connected to my router, and the router let me use the internet and share some files and printers with my laptop upstairs.
    A few weeks ago we changed to Comcast cable. The technician came in and connected it himself, but only for the desktop. The internet worked perfectly, and still works perfectly on my desktop (the one downstairs). He didn't really give me any instruction or CD-roms for it.
    When I tried connecting my router, the internet stopped working. It was weird because the router worked for the file sharing and printer sharing between both my computers, but the internet didn't work. Although, the light for the internet is lit on the router itself.
    I even have this program called "AOL Network Magic" which shows a map of what is connected to the router, and it shows that the router and my laptop and desktop are connected, but then it has an "X" for the internet connection.
    I have tried everything. I lost all of my CDs and things that came with Linksys, but I downloaded some guides from the Linksys website and it doesn't really help. I tried something called "NetSet", but after I set everything up it says my router is not compatible or something with NetSet. I read a bunch of FAQs, I tried going to comcast and seeing if they had any FAQS about it, but I can't find anything.
    Maybe one of you can help me?
    Also, I don't know my modem's IP address. I had it for Bellsouth, and sometimes when I would lose my connection I would go there and click on "reconnect" or something like that.
    So the only way I can use the internet is to disconnect everything from my router and connect the ethernet cable directly to the modem.

    You may open the web setup utility page of the router by typing its IP address on your browser's address bar. By default, it is 192.168.1.1.  When you're asked for username, you may leave it blank.  For password, its "admin". If in case that does not work, reset your router at the back for 30 secs and do a power cycle again, see if it becomes accessible after that...

    My Magic Mouse would start acting up @random - Sometimes days would pass with no problems other days I would have the problems all the time...
    Last week I wanted to find the culprit. And I have !!!
    It is the iPhone.
    I made a list and took notes of what I was doing every time the issue occurred.
    The console would should no sign of anything.
    the past week - My girlfriend had been using my iPhone to listen to music in a separate room. This week, I bought her a stereo ;-)
    The past week I had ZERO trouble - this week nothing but trouble.
    Going thru' my list, I noted that only the iPhone was the missing link.
    So as the iphone was sitting next to me and the problem occurred I did this
    Turned off its Bluetooth...     == No Change     (Lag & weirdness)
    Turned off its WIFI               == No Change     (Lag & weirdness)   
    Put it into Airplane Mode     == Change          (No Lag No weirdness)        
    Put it back into Std Mode     == Change          (Lag & weirdness)
    Moved iPhone to kitchen     == Change          (No Lag No weirdness)
    I can do this all the time and repeat the problem 100% of the time
    The iPhone is most definitely interfering with the stability of the Magic Mouse... NOT with the Trackpad !!!!!!!
    Both using BlueTooth
    But the again, we all know in 2014 that the only magic about the magic mouse is its ability to produce magic results,
    NOT invoked by the user and cause Wrist Pain. But hey, it looks really cool ;-)

    I have this same type of problem. As long as wifi is off bluetooth works. Turn wifi on and bluetooth can no longer find anything—no phones, computers, speakers, mouse etc... Bluetooth worked perfect rooms apart before Mavericks. I called Apple and they think it's a hardware issue with the mini. It's funny for something to be working so well before the software update. I told them to put the case on hold and I will wait for the OS update. If the OS update doesn't come I suppose I will drive the hour or so to the nearest Apple repair shop and have them look at it. The main reason I'm posting is I see very little about this issue being discussed. I hope to see some replies. Thanks.
