Iphone 5 internet

My iPhone 5 is connected to the internet and says it has full signal, but when I go onto the internet it doesn't work and says I have no internet connection.
I decided to turn off the WiFi and turn it back on and it still isn't working.
I have also turn off the mobile data and 3g and WiFi for the time being < is that a good idea?
I also have broken my lock button so therefore can not turn my iPhone back on and off Someone told me I can turn it off and then plug it into the charger and it will turn back on, but I don't know if it will work and don't want to risk it and turn on my phone and it not turn back on.
I did drop it a month or so ago and a chunk at the top right hand corner is missing,it also has some water within the screen, but it has been working fine until now, so I don't know whether it is to do with that or the phone its self?
Is there anything I can do or will I have to go into an apple store?

There was nothing in your first post - so, I suppose that would literally be "clear" but not loud.
It may be that the wifi you are connecting to is too slow, or too crowded with other users. If so, the alternative would be turn it off and use cellular.
Does it work with any wifi networks?

Make sure you check your plan to ensure you have optimal data coverage, depending on your streaming habits it may not take long to go over if you have a cap.

If you are connecting directly to your WiFi router which coonects to your ISP modem then another computer is not involved.

  • HT2208 i dont have wifi at home can i somehow use my iphone internet ??

I do not have the option of wifi at hoem.. i have a turbo stick on my laptop.  Can i use my iphone internet as an option in order touse apple tv?

It's a bad idea.  First off you do not have unlimited data if you read the fine print.  Doing streaming video is almsot guarentied to be a banded use of the service.  Secondly even if it is allowed, and you have the tethering feature enabled (which is NEVER sold with unlimited data by the way) And you get ATV to accept that as an internet connection it is going to be EXTREMELY slow and error proone.  You will probably need to completely download any show or movie you want to watch first, and I doubt you will get streaming services like Hule or Netflix to work at all.

  • MacBook Pro USB cable iPhone internet

    Hi
I am a management consultant and the only one I know who is Mac based down here in Sydney, Australia.
I use an iMac as my main office machine and configure a *MacBook Pro* using ChronoSync when I go interstate to see clients or run strategy workshops.
Now that it has finally arrived down-under, I want to buy an iPhone. However, before I commit to a phone carrier and a plan, I would like to know if it is possible to connect the *MBP to the iPhone* using the *USB cable* and *using that connection* go through to the internet so that I can use Entourage on the MBP to pick up my email etc.
I need to do this simply because I have organised all my client and project work using the *Project Center* in Entourage. I mean, connecting laptops to GSM phones to conntect to the internet or enterprise systems is not really new.
This afternoon I talked to the Geniuses in the new Apple Store here in Sydney and could not get a clear cut answer. Heck, the iPhone is also WiFi and Bluetooth enabled so there must be a way of doing this.
Any thoughts? Any one tried this yet?
    Regards
    Jai

It's kind of surprising that they missed this one. It has been the topic of much discussion all over the Apple forums over the past week or so.
But from the start, they did not allow access to any of the phone features themselves, especially those that are directly related to charges ATT would make...like voice dialing, etc...ATT offers Voice Connect as an add-on feature at cost....they also offer tethering at cost.
I know in the HTC forums at the ATT website, there was a lot of discussion about tethering and how they can tell you have tethered or not. Apparently ATT CAN tell the ISP numbers of connections, and they DO charge for tethering, even when it appears they should have no way of knowing.
I am sure that ATT put a kibbosh on the tethering App until they can figure out how to charge for it. It's a good 30 dollars MORE per month, above and atop the unlimited data plans. Thats income ATT isn't going to lose.
I am sure it went something like:
Apple lets tethering App slip through -- ATT sees it and calls Apple and cries Foul -- Apple pulls the app -- somehow it ends up back on the AppStore site -- ATT calls foul again, and it is removed for good until this is resolved.

  • Ethernet Mac to iphone internet.

My mum only has an ethernet cable in her house. This means that i cannot use facebook messenger on my phone or check my snapchat. I tried setting up my own network but it didn't work. I whent in to system preferences, sharing, internet sharing and turned on ethernet to computers using wifi. When i tried to connect on my phone a message came up telling me that this network was not connected to the internet. When i selected proceed it connected on the settings app but not on the top bar of the phone. Please help!

There is some confusion about the path you suggest from the computer with online access, the settings, and how you propose to use it to connect by wi-fi to your iPhone. If the computer OS has a password, be sure to check with the Admin or owner before changing any settings that may affect its function. See first link below for internet sharing. Or also see if the wifi hotspot info link is helpful.
You could create a wi-fi hotspot with a Mac computer, and use its wireless to broadcast the internet locally so as to have a signal to share with your iPhone. Since the computer is using an Ethernet connection, there should be no other setting except that, which says Ethernet. The basic connections from the internet provider to the Mac should not be changed or any subsequent path will not work.
    {Better if you had a wireless base station such as an AirPort, then you could more easily share internet with more than one device; and that way, the computer would not have to be on all the time in order to share internet from the local ISP.}

    Access wifi directly through laptop.
If your laptop dont support wifi connectivity
then it may not be possible to connect through iphone's wifi.
although some of the wifi connectivity is available through itunes such as 'REMOTE'
application and many other that work with itunes for data storage etc.
but sharing of wifi internet through iphone with a non wifi laptop through usb cable u need application software for that. search on App Store for same.

  • Iphone internet

How do i access the internet if there is no wifi available and i am on the move...Is there another way of accesing the internet and is it possible to get some sort of gps application installed on the iphone...

As long as you have and Edge signal from your carrier you can get online without WiFi. There is nothing you need to do. Just if you see E for edge up in your signal, then you are good to go.
As for GPS, just search here. There is no GPS hardward in the phone so there is nothing the phone can do. As for 3rd party tools that plug in...well I just don't know. I would think come Feb when the SDK comes out, one can hope that GPS makers may make applications that work with hardware they make to attach to the iPhone.

  • Windows 7 and iPhone internet tethering

    Hi guys,
I was using the exact same hardware (notebook) and same USB cable and iPhone in the past that the Internet Tethering was working perfectly when in WinXP Pro.
However, recently I re-format my PC to Windows 7. But the problem is now the Internet Tethering somehow is not working.
    Symptoms:
My iPhone is connected to the PC, can sync Outlook mail, contacts, calendars etc. When I turned on the Internet Tethering, the mobile shows that it is connected with BLUE bar at the top of the screen. But in my notebook, it doesn't show that it is connected to any devices, nor any NIC there. Finally I confirmed that no IP address obtained.
Is there anything I mis-configured? or this is no way to do this?
    Thanks a lot
    Tim

The question is answered by my own.
Turn on the Internet Tethering on iPhone. Plug it into the Win7 machine. Let it finished synchronizing. Turn on the Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections. Check for the device - Apple Mobile Device Ethernet by right click and Diagnose it.
After the diagnosis, there was problem found, and I let the Win7 fixed by itself. Then, Win7 can get the IP from the iPhone and do browsing through the PC.

  • WLan connected, iPad and iPhone internet ok, iMac not working after trying everything (manual ip etc...)

I am quite new with a mac computer. But i think i nearly tried everything, i have no idea what else could help...
My iPhone and iPad are working perfektly in the wlan. My iMac works very rarely. Yes it worked once by manual ip, but later it did not work again.
Wlan always works (sometmes it takes a few seconds until thesymbol is fat, mostly it starts with "no internet")
    I tried so many things...
    - manual ip found out by my windows pc
    - $ in front of the password
    - the apple faqs on the websites
Very strange, but i hope someone solved an comparable problem already ;)
    Thx!

I had a surfstick before, does that influence the whole thing?
And another thing: in other wlans the iMac worked perfectly... Without any manual settings etc.
    Anyone an idea?

  • Can I use my iPhone Internet on my iPad through Bluetooth?

Set your phone as a hotspot then connect your iPad to the phone using wifi, bluetooth, or USB. I think wifi only works with iPhone 4.

  • IPhone Internet tethering and MSN

I can use internet tethering fine, everything works well except MSN messenger. I can connect, chat etc... with it but only in "Offline" status. When I try to change my status to "Online" It will sign me off. This only happens when I'm connected using my iPhone as a tethered modem.
    Any suggestions?

I am having same issue. I can actually connect my Mac (running 10.6.5 and connecting via Cisco client) to the company VPN through my tethered BlueTooth connection (getting the same 172.20... you get). But once on the network I can't do anything. Can't ping. Can't ARD into a box. It's like the IP address the VPN router issues back isn't being seen at the Mac OS level. It's like the 172.20... router just doesn't understand how to jump over to the other network. I guess the Cisco Client isn't properly tunneling through. We even tried pinging backwards from the network to the IP address the Cisco router assigned back to the Mac.
