IPhone 5 keeps restarting after trying to install ios8

I tried downloading iOS 8 for my iPhone 5 this afternoon.
After it downloaded, my phone continues to restart itself without ever installing iOS8.
I can't even get it to stay on so that I can reset the settings.
Any ideas on what is happening?

It sounds like your iPhone has a startup issue since attempting to update to iOS 8. Try putting the iPhone in to recovery mode and restoring it again, as shown in the article linked below.

I just updated my iphone4 to ios 5 several days before. But then the phone keeps restart when I use it, even unlocking the screen! It just goes blank and restarted. Are there anyone having this trouble as well? How can I fix this? Cheers.

I have been experiencing exactly the same issue with my iPhone 4.
I've checked all settings, made sure the ringer is on, and even restored the phone. No luck. I did not have these issues before upgrading.
Also, text message notifications do no show on the lock screen, and, I receive no indication that a text message was received, other than a badge on the iMessage app (which may take hours to notice).

I have iphone 5. After updating ios 7.1.2 phone keeps restating itself until battery die. Rare time I can see my home screen during restart. I can't do anything to my phone.Touch doesn't work. But when I connect my phone to itunes it shows me everything. Even I have backed up my photos to my pc when phone was restarting. Warranty is expired. My iPhone 5 started the restarting problem after I updated (OTA) from ios6 to ios7.1.1. The restarts became so frequent that the phone became impossible to use. I then bought a cheap android phone as I believed apple were going to release an update to solve the issue. Imagine my disappointment today after upgrading to ios 7.1.2, and immediately after the upgrade, the phone goes back to the restarting loop!! I doubt that restoring the phone will do any good, I restored mine many times after my previous upgrade.......& still the problem persisted.I am not prepared to go through that pain again. I think I will just save-up & get myself the Galaxy s5 (never thought I would live to see the day that I would say this ). I am deeply disappointed by apple .

My Mac keeps restarting after Mountain Lion install

In installed Mountain Lion and now my Mac keep rebooting. I am getting an error that there is a problem with starting up. I am able to access my computer by using safe mode but as soon as restart it, it keeps rebooting once again. Please help.

The trendmicro kext is likely the problem. Don´t know about the other one. You can probably start up in Safe Mode (boot with Shift-key) and uninstall the app from there, or check if there is an update to the program.

Boot on Safe Mode and then go into the library and get rid of TrendMicro files. There are other threads right now on this so do a quick search and give it a try.

Sorry unit was upgraded to iOS 4.3.3. Unit is now out of warranty by 23 days. I would like to think out of courtesy that Apple would replace my iPhone for the inconvenience caused by the upgrade as the phone was working perfect prior to the upgrade.

I upgraded my phone to ios8 and now when ever I power on the device, it will stay on for about 2-3 min and then the phone will shut off and then restart again. I did clear all device and data etc multiple times but nothing seemed to work. Any ideas on what a solution could be? its been re-starting now for the last 3 hours.

* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.
Please also run MSinfo32 and upload the output as well.

Obviously since you have iOS 7 you're a developer. As a developer, you signed a NDA with Apple not to discuss the iOS on a public forum. Please log in to the Developer Forum using your credentials and ask for help there, lest you risk having your credentials terminated.

There are two ways that a backup can become encrypted:
You chose to encrypt it, then forgot the password.
If you have company-provided MS Exchange access your IT department has the option of requiring your backup to be encrypted. The first time you backed up or synced after installing MS Exchange you were prompted for a password. That is the password you need.
If you don't have the password any longer there is no way to restore the backup.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it back to factory settings would be the next step:

I am having the same issues. I feel that I have to carry around a charger because it either dies so fast, or turns off when it's not completely dead or restarts.

I do a system restore many times via iTunes

I do a hard reset by holding the power & home button for 45sec x5 times

I do a battery calibration by holding the power & home button for 25secas I'm told via online forum

Just finely get the iPhone 4 updated to latest 4.3.3 OS via iTunes

I leave iPhone 4 to completely dis charge where it won't start at all & then recharge it where charge holds for a couple of hours but then only to turn itself off when the power meter is reading 64% but won't restart after pressing power button.

So I pug the iPhone 4 back on its charger for a couple of hours but it still reads only 1% battery power so I do another by holding the power & home button for 25 seconds as I'm told via online forum up to which the battery meter reads 96% as to will not charge no higher than 93-96% but again the seconds later the iPhone 4 again starts keeping restarting it's self every 30 seconds nonstop all over again.

Now upgraded to iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 & it now continues to REBOOT/RESTART every three to five second regardless of whether it’s plugged in or unplugged NOW & the ONLY way I can get some sort of charge into it is to turn off the iPhone 4 completely but only after it already plugged in to the power & after it’s already restarted it’s self again buy holding the POWER BUTTON down plus flicking the Phone shutdown touch screen button across But still not fixing it’s problem regardless of how many times I’ve upgraded the iPhones 4 iOS MAKING THE iPhone or any iPhone so far totally the most useless mobile phone I’ve ever had/owned & I’ve had a lot of Mobiles over the years that when I get them I test every feature they have to the max in order to make sure there are no problems with it but this time I’ve discovered that Apple iPhones are a piece of TOTAL CRAP and contacting Apple is imposable to do & Vodafone is almost just as bad & certainly not buy email HA?

My 1 year old -- ha! one month out of warranty -- iPhone 4 has been having a nearly identical problem over the past few days.
It started by dying completely so I had the battery replaced, thinking it was simply battery issue.
It then worked again for a moment but started doing exactly what you describe, going through a reset cycle (longer than 30 seconds but who's counting). And it felt quite warm.
Did hard reset, plugged into wall charger and MBP USB but the new battery wouldn't even get a full charge (a whopping 92% after nearly two days). It would even lose battery when plugged in if I opened an app. And all the while plugged in, if I left the phone on, it would cycle through these resets. So I turned it off to try to charge it.
Now suddenly, it's dead again. Totally black, and hard reset does nothing. Up until two days ago there was nothing wrong whatsoever with this phone! And I hadn't even installed a new app that could be the root of the issue. No idea whatsoever what caused this.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

I am really frustrated with Apple coz my last mobile 3GS's network circuit was so poor that I could not use that to make call. However can any one help me with my iPhone 4s problem? I've no warranty left that's why I think apple will not help me any ways.

Try changing the channel on your router to manually select & use,the highest number channel available. After I did that I no longer had the problem.
