IPhone 5 lock screen sounds have stopped

The Lock Sounds and Keyboard Clicks have stopped working on my iPhone 5. I've tried going into Settings Sounds and turning off Change with Buttons, Keyboard Clicks and Lock Sounds then turning them back on and that didn't work. Other sounds such as Alarms and Music are still working, it seems that just the Keyboard Clicks and Lock Sounds have stopped. Does anyone know how to fix this?

MY iPhone5 had stopped making clicking sounds and lock sounds and the solution was the ringer switch silent was turned on. The posts at this location were helpful for me to correct the problem.

    Hello, Ayman Refaat.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are a couple articles I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.  Make sure to check the vibrate switch is not engaged as it can cause some application audio, keyboard sounds and ringtones to be mute.

I have a similar problem, but after following your suggestion of deleting my iphone backup and then turning backup back on again, I needed to plug my phone into my computer to sync the backup.  I re-tried to do an icloud backup and it again told me that  "the last backup could not be completed"... since I had deleted the backup, it says the "Last backup:  never".  Ugh. I reconnected my iPhone 4S to my computer and iTunes so I could sync my phone and do a backup... it's still "waiting for sync to start"...
For your iCloud backup, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.
If you turned iCloud backup off and try to sync to create a backup on your computer and got a "waiting for sync to start" error, it may be caused by a corrupt backup on your computer.  You could try deleting your last backup by opeing iTunes and going to Preferences>Devices, clicking on your last backup and clicking Delete Backup.  Then try again.

  • My sounds have stopped working for text, YouTube and music

My sounds have stopped working for text, YouTube and music since in downloaded new software!

I'm not sure if this will help, but I went into my sounds setting and made sure that both the "vibrate on ring" and "vibrate on silent" were selected to "on."  Once I did this, I was able to get the vibrating notification for a call received (as this had previously not been the case).  Hope this helps.

  • Mail sounds have stopped playing

For awhile I had the problem of Mail not properly executing rules that contained sound notifications.  Sometimes the sound would be heard, other times it would be invoked after another message arrived, other times it just wouldn't execute even though other rules (such as the icon bouncing) would work fine.
Now, the sounds have stopped altogether.  Before, when I was creating a rule and was presented with the list of sounds available and I clicked on one, I would get a preview of the sound.  Now I don't even get the preview.  All of my applications that have sound work just fine.
    Any thoughts?
I am on the latest version of Lion.

Use the side controls and make sure your phone isn't on vibrate.  Up for ringer.

  • TS3694 After updating to iOS 6.1.2, iPhone 5 got problems which are lock screen, Sounds, syncing iTunes?

After updating to iOS 6.1.2, iPhone 5 can't connect to iTunes. When i am trying to connect, then i can connect. After secods, the phone is not connecting with iTunes again. Then Automatically connect to iTunes again by itself.
My sound works with headphones, the alarm works, ringer works but can not listen to any music/videos without headphones plugged in.
Then lock screen bugs; bypass fumble. When I start to open the iPhone and swiping is heavily to do on the slide to unlock. What's the matter with it?

    firstly thanks for quick reply.
    sorry sir,
i am confused in last line you wrote,
" This will erase the phone but you will be given an option at the end to restore to an existing backup, if you have one."
i did not understand last sentence  -  if i have one? you mean to say if i have data or not in my iphone?
i have many pictures, messages, contacts which are very much important.
so will it be all restore and will be backup again in my iphone if i restore?
i am extremely sorry to interrupt you again.
    waiting for your quick reply

  • 3G iPhone click sounds have stopped working.

For no apparent reason, the keyboard click sounds (feedback) have stopped working. Sounds from other apps work fine (audio), as well as iPod music, etc., but anything which gives a click sound feedback has stopped. I performed a sync, as well as went through all settings that have anything to do with sound or audio and it hasn't helped. I hate the idea of having to do a complete reset and reinstallation and configuration of everything, but what are my choices?
    TIA

Not really stupid, some people don't even know their computer is unplugged when they see a dark screen and call tech support right away:-)
But, Yes, I did a sync, I toggled all settings, I turned it off, accessed all typing apps, etc. Sound everywhere else works, just not keyboard click sound feedback. I am left to wonder if the actual click sound file itself got hosed and needs to be reloaded if that is possible - it seems that one can't access systems sounds to find out.

  • Mail delivery and received sounds have stopped

Recently the "whoosh" sound that accompanies mail being sent simply stopped working. A couple of days later the incoming mail alert stopped as well. In all other respects, my Mac mini seems to be working just fine. I'm running the most current OS version. Any ideas? Should I be worried about an impending system failure?

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • Can we get some kind of effect for iphone lock screen???

i'm looking into changing my lock screen. i would like to get some kind of effect instead of the plane lock screen that we already have. any suggestions if any and possible to do???

Switch now, don't wait. You sound like you are more of a Android OS type user (a rooted Android device at that) and Apple is probably never going to make the changes you want. You definitely do not want to look at Windows 8 mobile which is even stodgier than iOS.
Good luck with your Android device.

  • How to Change Clock Color on iPhone Lock Screen?

I think this is possible but not sure but if it is, don't know how.
I'd like to change the color of the numbers/text for the clock that appears on the lock screen of my iPhone 5 with iOS 7.  The white numbers and text don't show up very well with the image I have on the lock screen.
I googled it and found a couple answers but they didn't seem to work for me.  Does anyone have a way to do this?
    Thanks

No, you cannot change the color of the clock.

  • Lock screen sounds muted after Siri use?

    Hey!
I just discovered a weird thing that happens on the lock screen. I tested this on an iPhone 4S, iPod touch 5th gen and iPad 3rd gen, all giving the same results.
    So here's the trick:
    - Wake up device, then hold down home button to activate Siri
    - Tap outside Siri area to close Siri
    - Now, when you unlock your device, even with a passcode, the unlocking sounds won't sound. You can lock and unlock your device about 3-4 times after that and there will still be no sound. After a few goes, the sound suddenly returns.
It's just a little glitch I found. Help? Or tell Apple?

Yeah it does! Maybe you're not on iOS 6.1.3. I've also found it happens if you're typing, say in notes. The keyboard clicks don't sound, but eventually come back.
Are you speaking to Siri? Just activate it and tap out of it (not with home button) without saying anything.

  • USB ports and sound have stopped working

As the subject reads, all 3 of my USB ports have stopped working and all sound.  In the device manager I receive a (code 10) for realtek high definition audio.  I have done everything I can think of at this point, I have even done a complete OS reinstall. Afterwards I have also updated with every possible driver file I can find from realtek and toshiba, I really don't know what else to do at this point, any thoughts? advice? anybody else with this problem?
    Windows 7
    Toshiba Satellite
    L505D-S5983

Same here. I have an L505D that is doing the same exact thing. No sound device, all USB ports not working and the SD card reader not working either. Also when you close the lid and reopen it, the machine won't wake up. Have to restart to get it to come back. Haven't found ANYTHING in forums to help.
Sound devices, USB ports and SD card doesn't show up in the Device Manager.
Took the laptop to a local fixer-upper. Unhooked the charger, took battery out, put battery back in, then restarted the laptop without being hooked up to the charger and everything came back on. But only for a short while. After a couple of days, it does its thing all over again.
Are we looking at a mother board issue here? SURELY someone out there in cyber space has a solution.

  • My lock screen camera shortcut stopped working

Hi i noticed recently that my camera shortcut from the lock screen no longer works :-(. When i start dragging the screen upwards to reveal the camera i can see the camera up underneath but the moment i finish the camera vanishes and i get a blank screen. Any ideas?
I am using an iPhone 4S and ios8

Have you tried to reset the phone?
Hold down the home and sleep / eake buttons for about 30 seconds or until you see the Apple logo and then release and allow the phone to boot up and see if this recurs

  • Iphone lock screen and home screen...

    hi apple,
we apple users are worried about the lock and  home screen of iphone, people breakjail or try to breakjail their iphone because it lacks some features of high-tech of android phones, please apple dont let us drop apple for android, work on the lock screen and home screen whereby it can look like jailbreaking...thanks.

Android isn't high-tech. Android is nothing but a poor copy of Apple's UI as with Windows being a poor copy of Apple's computer GUI.
As with Windows on a computer, Android is a swiss cheese for security mobile OS not to mention being a fragmented mess that will only get worse when Apple's patents are enforced. Jailbreaking or hacking iOS removes all the built-in security making it as insecure as Android.
