    IPhone 5 lose battery quickly

    Hello!
Since my iPhone 5 (1+ years old now) almost constantly loses its charge down to 1% within 2-3 hours I seem to have a similar if not the same (very annoying) problem I herewith ask you to tell me where and how to search for solid suggestions of how to lessen the problem it causes in my life! I aquired this (&&&&&) iPhone 5 to be able to make phone calls (not many at all (- 2-5) a day!) short 2-10min max and Text Messages (mostly iMessages!)! these are the main use of my iPhone 5!
According to the Battery usage information the iOS 8.1.3 gives me for the last 7 days is as follows: Messages = 19% , Home an Lock Screen = 14% (?? shall I completely turn my phone off to save these percentages?), Safari = 11%,  Phone = 11%, Calendar = 8%, Mail = 8%, Notes = 2%! Remaining = 1% each, where the most of them i don't understand why these are using that (much!?) Battery Power!
Any Suggestions on how i can minimize this Battery consumption?
Don't forget that i am almost all the time rechararge my iPhone 5 to 100% when not in use (2 -3 sometimes 4 times per day) and i keep it on the plugged in charger from ~ 10pm to 6am EVERY day too! Am i using my iPhone too often? BTW: I also used a $$$Lenmar Meridia Batter case (which I sent to Lenmar to evaluate it about 2 weeks ago)! I have not yet heard anything back from them so it looks like a bigger problem to me!) I am not looking for threads on this topic - I am looking (still) for solutions!
Please let me know where i can find more helpful suggestions! I hope you got some!
    Thanks

  • My iphone 4s gets warm and loses battery quickly

my iphone 4s gets warm and loses battery quickly

sounds like a battery defect if it's under warrenty hand it in
if not I would have a 3th party repair place to change the battery as it could begin to expand and break the glass

  • Does iphone lose battery when powered/turned off??

So my lock button at the top of the iphone 4 doesn't work and i used the assistive touch button to lock screen when needed. The reason i didn't go to apple store is that i have past my warranty and didn't buy apple care.
Anyway, the other day, the iphone shut down unexpectedly at around 40%.
Now, normally, if it shuts down, it'll only be because of the battery being lower than 4%, and so all i had to do was to it in to power adaptor.
BUT, because i know that the percentage left is closer to 40%, then i was wondering whether the iphone would lose battery. Because if that happens, i can just wait for a couple of hours before plugging it in....

All devices use power when in sleep mode.
Locking the screen does not turn the device off, never has.

  • IPhone loses battery charge while connected to MacBook! Is this NORMAL?

Just as an example, I connected the iPhone to my MacBook this evening; it had about 60% charge, according to the green/black "thermometer." Then, I did some other stuff, and when I checked the thermometer again, it was down to about 20%! It seems like the phone is discharging into the USB power port? The only successful way I have of fully charging my iPhone is through the supplied charger. I can only connect to the MacBook for syncing, then better get off before I lose charge! Am I the only one who is seeing this?

Hmm. Let me ask this: when the iPhone is in the dock and the dock is connected to the (awake) MacBook, does iPhone think it's getting power? That is, does the tiny battery icon at the top right have either a lightning bolt or a plug symbol? If it doesn't, then remove the dock and plug the cable directly into the iPhone to see if that helps. It may be that your dock is passing data (which we know because you can sync), but not power.

  • IPhone 5 battery quickly losing charge after updating to ios 7.0.4

Just upgraded my iPhone 5 to the iOS 7 v and immediately started seeing the battery losing power. Has to be the upgrade. I old go evn 2 days before without recharging but now I have to recharge at least twice a day. What's up with this?

Yes. I seem to have fixed it, but not really. I erased all music from phone, and then manually managed a resynced eveything I wanted back on there. Interstingly, it didn't work the first two time and said (waiting to make changes) so I was freaking out. But the third time was the ticket and now we are good. Unfortunately, there is a bug, and until there is a real fix, my music that I have in itunes on my computer is not easy to get to the phone. It seems that many people have had the exact same issue since the updates. Hopefully it will fix itself in the next update. Thanks for help though.

  • IPhone loses battery power extremely fast

I will charge my phone up to 100% and then in 2 hours the % is at 75%, and then 6 hours later the phone is sometimes already dead.
Who do I bring my phone to, to have the problem fixed. My phone is a little bit over a year old and I bought it at Target. Do I bring it Apple or to Target? And what will happen? Can the battery just be replaced, or do I need a whole new phone?

    Hello rbain007,
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iPhone. If you are having what appears to be unusually short battery life on your iPhone 5c, you may find the information and troubleshooting steps outlined in the following articles helpful. In particular, the following portion of the general Batteries article is very good for isolating issues with specific apps or processes consuming a disproportionate amount of charge:
iOS 8 is designed to be the most battery-efficient iOS ever. And it gives you more precise ways to manage your device’s battery life, because you can see the proportion of your battery used by each app (unless the device is charging). To view your usage, go to Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage.
Here are the messages you may see listed below the apps you’ve been using:
Background Activity. This indicates that the battery was used by the app while it was in the background — that is, while you were using another app.
To improve battery life, you can turn off the feature that allows apps to refresh in the background. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and set the switch to Off.
If the Mail app lists Background Activity, you can choose to fetch data manually or increase the fetch interval. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data.
Location and Background Location. This indicates that the app is using location services.
You can optimize your battery life by turning off Location Services for the app. Turn off in Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
In Location Services, you can see each app listed with its permission setting. Apps that recently used location services have an indicator next to the on/off switch.
Home & Lock Screen. This indicates that the Home screen or Lock screen was displayed on your device. For example, the display was awakened by pressing the Home button or by a notification.
If an app frequently wakes your display with notifications, you can turn off push notifications for the app in Settings > Notifications. Tap App and set Allow Notifications to Off.
No Cell Coverage and Low Signal. This indicates that either you are in a poor cell coverage area and your iOS device is searching for a better signal or that you’ve used your device in low-signal conditions, which has affected your battery life.
You can optimize your battery life by turning on Airplane mode. Swipe up to open Control Center and tap the Airplane mode icon. Note that you cannot make or receive calls while in Airplane mode.

  • My iPod Loses Battery Quickly For No Reason

I know you guys never like to reply to anyone's topics, especially the last 10 of mine and I know I don't have any points but can you please help me?
I've had this ipod classic for 7 months now and reciently when I use it, the battery is fully charged then when I let it sleep after listening to it after it is fully charged, still around 100% just losing a little right?
But then in the afternoon by the end of school, it goes down and it is sleeping and by the end of school it is almost out of battery. What is causing this to happen and how can I fix it?

There's actually no way to turn off coverflow, you can just remove the option from the main and music menus.
You said that you've had your iPod about 7 months, and that it would be too expensive to bring it to an Apple store. The unit is still under warranty, so repairs or replacement should be free - unless, of course the issue is due misuse of the product. I believe defective batteries are covered.
As SithLordDarth mentioned above, the very first thing you need to do is ensure you are using the latest version of the firmware.

  • My iPhone 3GS battery loses at least 30% charge when off for at least an hour

My iPhone 3GS battery loses at least 30% charge when off for at least an hour, I took it in to an apple retail store at the end of 2010 and they told me it was fine but advised I restore and set up as a new iPhone which I did, it got better for about a month then went back to normal losing battery. I have no hardware coverage left and my specs are: iPhone 3GS 16gb  IOS 4.3.3 white. I have had it since December 2009.

I'm afraid I don't. I don't know if the phone is still within warranty. I don't know which country you are in. I don't know what third party repair companies charge where you are.
Hang on - I do know one thing: if your phone is still covered by warranty - it's free!

  • My iPhone 3GS battery is running down too quickly

In the last few days, my iPhone has started running down *very* quickly. I have been running iOS 6.1 for ages without any problems. Could this all of a sudden cause problems like this?
I have disabled mobile data and 3GS and just left the clock, calendar and reminders running, but this has not helped. It was 100% charged when I went to sleep last night, and when I woke up this morning it was down to 20%.
Can anyone advise me on a way to fix this please?

Really... took me all of a minute to find http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802 which reveals:
    Battery life seems short
Note: Charging with a FireWire-based power source is not supported, except on original iPhone.
Click ( www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html) for tips on how to prolong iPhone's battery life.
Try turning  iPhone off and then on again.
Connect iPhone to iTunes and restore iPhone.
If the screen shows a low-battery image, the battery is low on power and needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it.
When charging iPhone, make sure to leave it charging until it is fully charged. You'll know the battery is fully charged when the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen looks like this .
Note: When charging using a   computer, don't connect iPhone to   a keyboard. Also, the computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPhone battery may drain.

  • What is the name of the small part that comes lose when you are removing the two battery screws on the left side of the battery, the small part is under the top screw when removing the iPhone 4s battery?

What is the name of the small part that comes lose when you are removing the two battery screws on the left side of the battery, the small part is under the top screw when removing the iPhone 4s battery?

It's the part that means you've voided your warranty and the right to get an out-of-warranty replacement from Apple.

  • After Updating the iOS 7.04 on my iPhone 4s drain battery quickly on standby mode & also doesn't respond volume up button, why?

After Updating the iOS 7.04 on my iPhone 4S drain battery quickly even on standby mode & also doesn't respond volume up button, why?

My battery problem woes continues to persist.  Yesterday, I had about 85-90% battery life in the morning.  A couple hours later when I looked at the phone it was down to 65%.  At that point, I shut off wi-fi, bluetooth, and background app refresh.  I received one call shortly after that.  The call lasted about two minutes.  My battery was now down to 40%.  Another hour later, down to 16%!  Here's the kicker:  I plugged in the phone to a charger and it jumped to 65% in a matter of minutes.  I unplugged the phone and within a couple of hours it was back down to around 30%.  I plugged it in again and within 10 minutes it was up to 75%.
At first glance it looks very much like a hardware issue.  However, I never had this problem until I upgraded to 7.0.4.  Also, the above battery roller coaster ride isn't a constant.  That is, it seems that only sometimes this happens.  So...I'm thinking it's either an app running in the background eating up juice (though I have Background App Referesh turned off) or the iOS is buggy.

  • IPAD 2 loses battery Power Quickly

Problem 1:  Within the last few weeks, my Ipad 2 loses battery power even when its powered down I've tried both closing the cover and using the main swithch  on the top right.  In all cases, I can start out at 100% and within a couple of hours be down to 85% after using it once and either closing the cover or pushing the switch.  Its as if something is still running.  I looked at the processes with all my apps off and didn't see any surprises .  I have processes 9424 dataccessd, 9412 ptpd, 6581 AdSheet~ipad, and 1340 iapd as well as a dozen or so process with numbers in the double digits from 49 on down.  It took me 9 hours last night to bring my pad from 20% to 100%.
Problem 2: I recently rented a movie from Itunes and tried to play it through my HDMI interface on my TV using the appropriate apple interface cords.  It started to play then I got a message that told me that the device I was trying to play the movie on wasn't authorized for protected media even though I had no trouble playing it on my ipad.?????What's with that?

    There is no "4S software".
    All iPhones run iOS.
There are dozens of versions of iOS.  Which version is your device on?

  • IPhone 4s loses battery while charging?

In the past week or week and a half, I noticed that my iPhone acutally loses battery while charging. I use my phone as an alarm clock so I plug it in overnight to be fully charged by the morning. I noticed it when I plugged it in one night at about 80%, I woke up and it was 20-30%. This has happened consistently every night since it started, not always to 20% but around 60% or slightly higher. I've tried charging to outlet I used, turning off my wifi overnight, taking the case off at night and closing all of my apps so there is nothing running in the background. I even turn my brightness all the way down. I have no idea what's wrong and nothing is able to fix it. My phone isn't new, it's about three years old (I got it a few months after the 4S came out originally). Is the phone just getting old and needs to be replaced or does it need to be sent back to Apple to be looked at or have the battery replaced?

Charging the battery means doing work on the battery and does produce heat.  How much heat is the quesion.  Is your iPhone to hot to handle or is it just getting warm?  Warm is normal, and if you feel the charger it will also be warm while charging.
If the iPhone is too hot to handle, that is not normal and should be checked out by an Apple tech at an Apple store genius bar.
