PROBLEM SOLVED by Apple Support Chat
In order to get around this issue I had to put the phone into RECOVERY MODE, and connect it to iTunes.

Connecting to iTunes in RECOVERY MODE worked even though all my iPhone backups are in iCloud not in my iTunes.
It is NOT TRUE that you can't re-activate and recover your iPhone if your SIM is locked.
It is NOT TRUE that you have to unlock your SIM in another phone if you are trying to re-activate your iPhone with a locked SIM.
It is NOT TRUE that you need to get a new SIM from your carrier if you're trying to reactivate your iPhone with a locked SIM.
All you need is a computer running iTunes, your SIM PIN, your iCloud login and password, and you need to put your iPhone into RECOVERY MODE. (See link above or click here.)

just traded in my iPhone for a Samsung and I am not recieving messages from other iPhone users. I think I need to remove my phone number from iMessaging but I am not sure how to.

windows vista not recognizing my iphone4s when i open itunes, keep getting trust / dont trust message on phone and always press trust. Not sure why it's started doing it. Can not synch iphone at all or add new music....as itunes does not pick up the phone I have connected anymore. My ipod synchs fine still and thats over 6 years old!

I change phones and i am not getting regular txt messages because somehow the messages are still sending through imessage which i no longer have.... I deleted my phone number from the account though as per instructiions from the phone carrier and is still not working...Any help?

It sounds like you are no longer getting text messages becuase your Apple ID is still using your phone number for iMessage. I would use these steps to unlink your phone number from your account:
Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

I keep getting the red mark "message failed" whenever i attempt to send a picture or forward. i checked my settings and MMS and Group messaging are both on. This has happened several times. Help!!!
I've been an AT&T customer since they were under different names in the 90s and have never heard/seen that. I would check with them. I'd really like to see that error. To get a screenshot on the phone, press the home button and sleep/wake button together quickly and release. You will see the screen flash slightly and hear the camera shutter noise.

My iPhone recently got smashed and I've been receiving some very important messages that I cannot view. Is there a way to log on and see my phones messages from a tablet/computer?
iMessage can be viewed and responded to on another Apple device. IPad, iPod or Mac computer.
regular SMS from non iPhone users will not show and you can't send to those phones.

I updated my itunes to 11 and found out my phone and ipod were not compatible. I uninstalled it and reinstalled 10.7 but now I get an error message when I try to open itunes saying "the file cannot be read because it was created by a newer verison" What do I do?

On my iPad, I was receiving iMessages and had the history of all message that were on my iPhone showing up but I just did a restore and I'm not receiving them. I can send, though. Any ideas?
is there any important stuff saved to your emails? if so you could log on to your emails from a seperate device and back them up. im not sure what else you could do :/

I can not make or receive calls! other functions itself. Internet, sms, whatsapp work. I restored as new iphone from the phone and from itunes and still not working.
Sorry for my english i'm spanishI have not tried that...I will look up the process so that I can do it correctly (and still transfer all of my files, contacts, etc). Any suggestions? What is the advantage of restoring as a new device..is this more akin to a complete wipe of a hard drive?

Do you think deleting the message off the phone would make a difference?If you don't enter an e-mail address, it just uses SMS and MMS. iMessages (sent over the data connection instead of using your SMS messaging plan) require an e-mail address registered on the device.

How do you get information entered into iCal and Contacts on an equipped iPhone to push to an equipped MacPro? So far it's been a one way street Macpro to phone, and that's not what I was told it would be. I've been through all settings on both devices and see no way to do this. Help! If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

The message on my iphone 4s delivered late and I can't receive any calls for some time
It's almost 6 months since I've encountered this problem. I already requested my carrier to have my iphone 4s replaced
and a series of testing was done to my iphone 4s before they found out this it was defective. Now, I have my new iphone 4s but

of coverage area. Hope you can help me on this.My brother had this issue, was the carrier. He had a company called Metro PCS, texts and calls would have the same issue that you are having. Given it's a new phone, it's gotta be your carrier.
