IPhone 5 Missing Some Album Artwork

I posted this question weeks ago, surprised Apple hasnt communicated a fix/solution to date - Had a iPhone4, with ALL artwork in tact.....upgraded to the 5, and only a portion of the artwork came over on the synch.  I manage my music manually, and 99% of my music has been purchased on iTunes.  There has to be a simple reason, accompanied by a simple solution. Anyone?  It has long past being an annoyance, its become infuriating.

This is what I figured out I went back to my itunes 10.7 on my MBP and all my album artwork that was not showing up on my iPhone 5  was showing up in coverflow on my MBP but after closer exam the ones missing from iphone 5 actually were missing from the selected item pane or the drag artwork here area so I downloaded and added my art by going to just the ones that were missing from that or you can get info on selected track and go to art tab and add it there after doing that on the first 25 missing I synced the phone and they all came back. Still don't know how they got stripped out of itunes in the preview but not the coverflow but I guess that's for the Geniuses at Apple to come up with. Apple please don't remove coverflow and Album art people love that dont screw it up
Make sure you stay away from upgrading to itunes 11 if you love album art and coverflow they have been removed and the new interface is really really complicated and very unappealing graphically

  • IPhone does not show album artwork for some songs!

My iPhone recently stopped showing album artwork for newly added music....
I tried to add the album artwork thousand time but no use...
    Restore didnt help as well...
    Any solutions?

no, it shows only for some, the old ones...not the newly imported ones
I select all the songs from the album, I drag the picture -from folder or safari- then i drop it in the artwork box...
sometimes shows for the first song only, but always shows for the album little preview, and never for the rest of the songs...

  • I had to restore my computer. After reinstalling itunes and sincronizing with my ipod, the music files were not organized in itunes as in the ipod: some songs were missing, some albums has no cover? Why is the sincronization not working properly?

  • Playing shared music, some album artwork is missing

Rather than copy my iTunes library to my Apple TV, I just use the "Shared" feature. But when playing music shared from my Mac, sometimes the Apple TV doesn't display album artwork (i.e., I get the generic album outline with notes in it) for albums that have artwork in my iTunes library. Some of these are even songs purchased from iTunes. The connection is via a wired gigabit network. Any ideas why the artwork doesn't show up?

Personally I think it's a software glitch that doesn't update teh artwork properly.
One of the recent iTunes updates lost a load of artwork for me too - things not purchased from the store but recently imported. I somehow feel iTunes is getting a bit too big and bloated with all the different things it has to support.

  • Some album artwork won't display on iPad

    Hi guys,
Some of the song's album artwork won't display on my iPad or iPhone but shows up against each song in the album on iTunes on my Mac. There are entire albums' artwork not showing, yet when I open and play the same song in iTunes on my mac, it's there.
    Any ideas?

in iTunes, choose to not *display Album Artwork on your iPod*, then sync your iPod, then change it back to display album artwork and sync again. I believe that will fix it.

  • IPhone 5 thumbnails for album artwork incorrect

I've been having a problem with the album artwork that displays as a thumbnail when you open the music app. For all the albums which contain music videos, a snapshot of the video appears to be replacing the normal artwork for the album. However when I open the album to view the tracklist, or actually play any of the songs in it, it displays the correct artwork as it did before the problem arose. So the issue here is simply with the thumbnails that display in the album menu of the music app.
This first started occurring after I attempted to sync my iPhone to my PC through iTunes, after which the thumbnails for the album artwork all disappeared entirely. I unsynced and redownloaded my music only to find that the thumbnails for several albums were still incorrect as I explained above.
Deleting the videos from the albums does not solve the issue, nor does redownloading the album in it's entirety.

  • Can't delete some album artwork & put in new album artwork

When I got this new iPod (had an older one, pre-color) I used the feature that loads album artwork for you. Fine & dandy, except some of the artwork it found is wrong, wrong, wrong. For instance one of them says "Pure 80s!" which is not the original album's artwork (although, yes, it is an 80s song). I cannot for the life of me get rid of that album cover even though I "delete" it and put the correct album cover in it's place. Any help on this, or am I stuck with "Pure 80s!" instead of the real cover art from the original album the song was on? Argh!! (been trying to fix this intermitantly for several months). This is just one instance, there are several others like this and it drives me bonkers because I'm kind of anal.

Let me clarify one thing. When plugged into the computer & itunes, the album artwork IS correct. When I disconnect and the ipod is on it's own, the artwork is INcorrect.
Also, I don't sync because I use my laptop which doesn't have enough memory to hold all my music. I do load everything onto an external harddrive, but that is incase of a catastrophic emergency and the whole thing needs to be redone.

  • Some album artwork no longer displays

I recently started having a problem where some of my album artwork will not display on my Ipod. It does show on Itunes. Some are Itunes purchases and some not. I tried deselecting artwork and resyncing, then selecting it and resyncing again with no luck.

I removed all music from my ipod, then synced it back on, all 15 gig worth. That got artwork back, but some songs are showing artwork from different albums.

  • IPhone 4's iPod Album Artwork Mixed Up

So, in my iTunes, all albums have the proper album artwork. It's always been like that. Now, with my iPhone 4 I've never had any issues until recently. After syncing all the music to my iPhone 4, everything seems alright at first. While scrolling through the albums, I see all the matching artwork, but when I play a song, the artwork changes to that of a different album. It happens with all music on my iPhone 4.
So in other words, only while playing a song/album, the wrong artwork is showing. Not a huge deal whatsoever but it would be nice to have this fixed.
Also, this doesn't happen all the time. It just happens whenever the phone feels like doing so.

If it is the same albums doing it, you could try unsynching then resynching those albums. That has fixed the problem for me in the past. Admittedly it's a bit problematic if it is totally random.

  • Some album artwork won't display on iPod Classic

I've had a strange problem recently with my new iPod Classic(and, come to think of it, my 2nd gen. iPod Nano): certain album artwork won't properly display, but will instead show up as a black square(like the 5th Metallica album, or the Spinal Tap album...). Sometimes, this happens only with certain songs on an album. For instance, I purchased 2 songs from the album "Employment" by Kaiser Chiefs last year. Recently, I purchased the CD, and I imported it to my computer. I chose "get album artwork" so the album cover would display for the newly imported songs, as well as the 2 I already bought. Now, the 2 songs I bought last year display their artwork normally, but the newly imported tracks just display the black square.
What's going on, and how can I fix it?
    Thanks in advance..

in iTunes, choose to not *display Album Artwork on your iPod*, then sync your iPod, then change it back to display album artwork and sync again. I believe that will fix it.

  • Missing iTunes album artwork

I switched from a PC to a Macbook about 2 years ago, after putting quite a lot of songs on my computer.  When I had my PC, I ripped CDs using Windows Media Player first, and the album artwork would automatically appear whenever I played the songs or inserted the CD.  I later imported them to iTunes when I downloaded it on my PC.  Whenever I did that, the album artwork disappeared.  When I got my Mac I transferred all the music onto the new computer, and the "Get Album Artwork" command didn't work (even when connected to the Internet); I understand the album artwork might not appear in my song list, but it doesn't even appear when I insert the CD.  Any ideas on how I can get the album artwork (save deleting all my music and re-importing it)?

    Method 1
Select the tracks, right-click and select Get Album Artwork.
Method 2 (If method 1 didn't work, or you want to embed the art it found)
Locate relevant image from an image search of the web. Something in the order of 600 pixels square will work best. Select all the tracks of the album, press ctrl-i to Get Info. and paste the downloaded image into the Artwork panel on the Info tab.
To get artwork updated properly on a device it is sometimes necessary to remove the tracks from the device, then put them back again using iTunes.

  • Some album artwork mysteriously dissappears...

Yesterday out of nowhere album artwork on roughly half my library mysteriously vanished. I didn't make any changes, updates, etc. Is there an easy way to remedy this short of doing a google image search and manually putting everything back?
My iTunes library is stored on an external HD connected to an Airport Extreme, if that matters.

Ok, first you need to put it on your library..NOT YOUR IPOD ones and then delete all your ipod music and put your library ones onto it and that should solve it!

  • Some album artwork missing only when viewed in tile mode.

Hello, after Restoring to new (to clear up an issue with excessive "other") and updating iPod 5 to iOS 7.1, which corrected issues, I have found an odd glitch with music. Four album covers are missing when viewed in tile mode only. You see them otherwise when viewed any other way, everything plays as it should, it's just there not there in tile view mode, what you do see is black background with white letters telling you the album title and artist name. Have tried powering down, soft reset, Reset All Settings. Going into get info and tapping get artwork. Erasing effected music and syncing albums back into iPod. Erasing entire music library and then reinstalling, and Restore from backup. The same four albums do not appear in tile mode. All effected albums were purchased through iTunes. As far as I know the only other thing to try is the Restore to new, is there something else to try? Thanks.

Sorry Illaass, been there, done that. No joy! Used the suggested method to delete before posting this. (Picked it up from you when you helped someone else with a similar problem-- it worked for them, but not with this one). It's kinda looking like restoring to new? (Please tell me something else... It's such a pain.)

  • Since 3.1 some album artwork doesn't appear anymore on the ipod app.

anyone else having these problems? any fixes? resyncing does NOT fix it.

Sadly, this didn't work for me.
I tried your method of deleting with just a few albums to see if it fixed the issue before I did 7 GB of music. When I re-synced, it did work.
So, I went back to remove and re-sync the rest of the affected albums. When it was finished re-syncing, the entire list went haywire; changing artwork for almost all of my albums.
I should note that this only affects the albums when they are in the Album list view. CoverFlow still works and the art is displayed properly on the fullscreen view when you are playing the song. But for people like me who don't use CoverFlow, this is a pretty big error that needs to be fixed.

  • New iPhone 6 missing some camera roll photos

So I got a new iPhone the other day and set it up from a backup of the old one which I had just made as I always do. Everything was fine except in camera roll it says all the photos are there 500 or so but the ones from a couple of weeks ago are missing. According to the numbers they should be there but it goes from 3 week old photos to the ones I've taken today. Any ideas?

    Peter
I apprecaite you taking the time to reply.
Looking at your response it seems that somewhere along the process the backup the photos/backup got corrupted.
I did a fresh install and then managed to save nearly all the photos but accessing the indicvidual files in the backup set and doing a batch rename of the file extensions to .jpg.  Once that was done I imported them in to the iPhone.
Took time to work all this out though, and I did have to reinstall the contacts from Outlook via GMail!
    Regards
    David
