  • Need to reboot to get new mail

I'm finding that with my 3G Phone that about every other day my new email does not automatically pull. I have both Exchange and POP mail accounts. I find I need to reboot the phone and then new mail pulls. Why is this happening?

    http://www.iphoneatlas.com/2008/09/24/fix-for-iphone-21-not-checking-mail-in-the -background/
You shouldn't need to reboot the phone. Just force quit the mail by opening it and holding the home button. I might suggest add each account one at a time and see if there is a specific account that seems to cause problems.

  • Ive just recently gotten my iphone 4 fixed but I dont get wifi connection passed my front room, and I also dont get it in school. Help?

Ive just recently gotten my iphone fixed, but I dont even get wifi anywhere in my house except my living room. It doesn't even connect in school anymore. What happened?

Considering Apple does not fix iPhones beyond battery and screen replacement on certain models, take it back to whomever "fixed it" and get them to rectify the issue.

  • IPhone + Washing Machine = constant reboot??

    Hey Guys,
As the title suggests, my iphone had a run in with the washing machine last week... it was in there for 10 or so minutes before i noticed and retrieved it... i dried it using the rice + blow dryer method for 4-5 days and then tried turning it on... much to my surprise and pleasure the oh so familiar apple logo appeared. Unfortunately it didn't go away, and then the little cog wheel started spinning and eventually the iphone turned off, but then instantly turned back on again... this goes on for as long as its got power... each incident is of different times (ie, could be 2-10-30 mins before rebooting). i tried restoring it, twice, but both times, after its rebooting to finish, the cycle starts over again. the first time it was very difficult to get itunes to recognising it, the second, i put it into DFU mode and itunes did its usual thing - mind you the screen was blank while in DFU, but did show the usual restore things.
    Any ideas??
I may be going out on a limb here =P but im assuming that 'water damage' isn't covered in the standard warranty. And if so, what are my options if the iphone is dead, considering im not likely going to fork out AU$800 for a new one to replace it.
I live in Australia and on an Optus 24 month plan with about 19 months left (if that makes any difference.)
    Please Help,
    And thanks in advance,
    Farley

    Thanks for your help...
I Sent it off to Apple for 'repair' using the OOW service you mentioned. Still waiting for it to be returned/replaced however i would just like to point out how efficient and easy it was with them. Just called up and within minutes i was ready to send it off for 'identification of problem'.
If anyone happens to fall into a similar situation (and i hope that you don't) its worth considering when all else fails. Compared with the price of a new iphone, this isn't too much to ask for to bring your 'baby' (sorry, i count help myself) back to life.

  • Time Capsule needs constant reboots

I have a Time Capsule with a 1TB USB drive attached. I find that it works fine for around 12-18 hours, and then I cannot connect to it over Ethernet or Wifi. Airport Utility hangs when connecting, backups fail (error 22), Finder cannot connect to the disks (error -50) etc. A reboot fixes it, but I cannot be rebooting my Time Capsule every 12 hours! I noticed it does get quite hot.
    Thoughts?

There is a problem which has been ongoing between Mountain Lion.. (although Lion is also affected) and TC.. it has not been fixed yet.. where the computer simply loses the TC hard disk.. although networking is going fine. It has forgotten where the TC is. The reboot gets it back alive again.
I have no clear work around.. I have to say I still basically run Snow Leopard.. which is a marvellously stable platform.. although I have ML MBP it is not on long enough for me to give much other than it seems more problematic.
The latest ML update has not been without issues. An SMC reset is something Apple did recommend. Some computers might even have SMC bios update.
    Worth a check.
I would make sure you use all names, short, no spaces and pure alphanumerics.
    See C9 for reasons. http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
Most of the other work arounds have to do with wireless.. but I would like you to figure out if dhcp is involved at all.. Is the TC the main router of the network or bridged?
Try a much shorter lease time.. eg 30min. or try a much longer lease time.. several days. See if those help.. You will do it in the TC if router or in the main modem router if the TC is bridged.
In finder manually mount the TC disk.. use top menu area, Go, connect to server.. and type in the address.
    AFP://TCname
It will ask for password, which is public by default.. store that in your keychain.
You can also try an SMC mount instead. SMC://TCname
Obviously using the actual TC name.

  • USB needs constant rebooting

The connecting of USB-things has become a complicated procedure.
When I connect a thing (e.g. iPod, camera etc.) it doesn't mount on the desktop or in any of the programs (itunes, iPhoto). It does show up in the systeminfo app. If I reboot the computer the USB-thing shows up and all is well. Sometimes I have to turn off the power completely. This i very irritating and everything becomes so much more time demanding.
*What could possibly be the problem?
*Is there a way to reset the USB-ports without rebooting?
    I would really appreciate help
    ///Arschfink
Ps. I have a sonnet USB2 card installed, but the issue concerns all ports Ds.

  • Multiple Catalyst 2960X-48LPS-L needing constant reboots

    So here's the situation:
Single building with known power issues (I really mean it, a light bulb won't stay on for a consistent 12 hours). We have 5 2960X-48LPS-L switches in the building with minor configuration at this point (just TACACS+, NTP servers, static IP, SSH cert, etc). We run into an issue where they seem to cause the end users to not be able to do anything (Windows clients show limited connectivity). Usually by the time we (Network Operations) get notified, they've hard-rebooted the switch like a cheap Linksys so we can't effectively troubleshoot.
We have the exact same model of switches in a large number of offices and have never had this issue. All are running the same IOS version and everything.
Any ideas? Or are these switches extremely sensitive to possible power drops? If they are, I'll have to have an electrician check the building out as I will not touch anything over 48 volts/1 amp.
    Thanks

  • 23" power on problem - needs constant rebooting.

Hi, I have 2 23" screens connected to my XP PC. My newest one, seems to have a problem. The LED is on, but the power switch does not turn the screen on (the LED stays on)
What I ahve to to is to unplug the IEC power cable, plug it back in, and then it switches on!
-I didn't think I would have to reboot a screen to get it to work each time!
Is there a fix, is it broken do you think?

I have the same problem with my 23" ACD connected to a PC with a Radeon 9800 Pro.
After turning on my computer the power switch (and also the brightness switch) is not reacting and I'm unable to switch off the display. After a replug of the power cable the problem usually doesn't appear any more until the next reboot.
Talked to the Hotline but seemed to have never heard of that problem before. At least I'm not the only one, so maybe they'll come up with a solution to it.

  • 5 day old 4s needs constant reboots

Just purchased this phone last week. Was perfect for the first few days. Now the last couple, when I lock the phone I cant get it to turn back on without a reboot. This is with a full charge, partial charge, etc....  The phone is pretty much a paper weight right now unless I keep the phone on constantly. I have probably rebooted atleast 10 times today already. Phone has no case either so I know the sensor isn't covered. And now that I think about it, this didnt start happening until I tried the locate your phone via iCloud 2 days ago. Could that possible have done something to it? I just wanted to test it so I had it send a ping.
I am also getting a "no wifi" status. I have 2 seperate wifi routers in the house and its picking them up here and there.

Thats what I am thinking too. I got it from the sprint store and had to wait 2 weeks for mine to come in. I hope they can get me a new one a bit quicker.

  • My WiFi crashes randomly and I need to reboot to get it working again

So I got my Macbook Pro 15" late 2011 repaired two weeks ago. After that the Laptop worked okay and after a few days I upgraded to 10.9.3 (from 10.9.1) and now my WiFi crashes randomly. It just stopes working. It doesn't find the network anymore and if I try to switch it of and on again, it won't go on anymore. The only way to fix this is to reboot the whole machine. This happens pretty randomly.
Currently I don't know if the repairs (Apple switched the logic board) is the problem or if there is a bug in the Mac OS that creates this.
Has anyone else have the same issue on their Mac OS 10.9.3 ? How do I find out if this is hardware related? Rebooting helps, so for me this is not an obvious hardware failure, but what do I know
    Bodo

    Is it Wifi or USB?
Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem  & the Startup right after that for clues.

    SonOfBear,
Hi, i have tried a new solutions which works for me for a month now without OFF the iMessage.
First, u go Settings -> Resets -> Reset Network Settings
    --auto restarts--
Then, u go settings _> Carriers -> Turn OFF Automatic(Carriers) -> then wait for a few seconds for your service provider to come out and manually select it!! Mine is DiGi. Note: always make sure the Carrier is OFF in Automatic mode.
hope this is final. and helps everyone.
    thanks.

  • Need help badly- Keep getting error: connection refused.

I'm developing an online multiplayer game, and everytime I try to use the multiplayer capabilities I get this kind of error.
