Iphone 5 not pushing exchange emails - IOS 7

Right before IOS 7 was released my phone quit pushing exchange emails.  All push settings were correct but emails would not come to my phone until I opened the mail program.  Then, they would all flood in at once.
The forums had a few temporary fixes (none worked) but the consensus was to wait until IOS 7 came out and hope it fixed it.  I updated to IOS 7 and still have the same problem.  I'm set to push, but I'm not getting messages until I open the mail program and it pulls in my emails.

OK, after hours of troubleshooting I post this, and within seconds I discover the answer on my own.  Gotta be one of Murphy's laws!
I discovered that in Settings, Notification Center, Phone, the Alert Style setting was Alerts, and the Alert sound was set to my ringtone.  I believe this was the way the phone was originally set up (the default) but I'm not sure.  Anyway just for grins (read: thoroughness in troubleshooting) I changed the Alert Style to None, saved it and tested by attempting to call the phone.  VOILA!!!!!!!  I received the call, loud and clear, no issues at all.  This must be a bug in the new version of the iOS.  Anyway, problem resolved and thanks to anyone who had already seen this and was trying to figure it out!  MRADTEX

    Hi JG14usa,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you attempted an update on your daughter’s iPhone but the update will not complete. For this type of situation, it may be necessary to place your iPhone into recovery mode and restore. Please use the instructions located in the attached article to complete this process.

  • Iphone 3GS with upgraded IOS 4 does not push new email (yahoo)

Hi was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same problem. I downloaded IOS 4 and have noticed in the past few days that my email (I have yahoo) does not push automatically. It receives it when I manually go into my email but I get no notifications/ sounds on the home screen. Help!

I am not sure if this is the same probem ...
    I have a 3GS and down loaded OS4 a couple weeks ago ...
This problem started this afternoon ....
Once I access any of my 3 e-mail accounts ... no matter what I do it says "checking for mail" never finds any unless I turn the phone off and on ... but then it doesnt stop checking and just eats up the battery. I have done nothing different and loaded nothing to the phone in the past week ...
It did this once before a few months ago in previous OS but turning the phone all the way off and back on fixed it ... now ... this is not fixing it.
    Is there another fix?

  • Temp fix for iOS 6 not pushing Exchange mail

    All,
If you are reading this, you are probable having the same problem as I am:
After you switched to the iPhone 5, Exchange mail is no longer PUSHing to your device.  I have done testing and this problem affects:
    1) iPhone 5's running connecting to Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010 servers.
    This does not effect:
    1) my iPhone 4S running iOS 6 Beta 6.0 10A5376e
    Troubleshooting:
    1) Wiped phone and started with completely fresh iOS 6 on my iPhone 5. The only thing I did was add my exchange account.
    -Still had same issue.
** How to fix this issue:
    1. Go to Mail, Contacts, and Calendar.  Click "Fetch New Data".  Make sure push is on.
    2.  Go back to Mail, Contact, and Calendar.  Click on your exchange account. Click on "Days to Sync".  Even if it is set to what you want this on, chance it to a different setting (i.e. 1 week).  You can change this back later, but this is the only way to fix it.
    3. Go back to Mail COntact and Calendar.  Click on "Show".  No matter what this setting is on, change it to a different setting. (i.e. 100 recent messages).
    4.  Reboot your iPhone 5
    5.  Exchange PUSH will be working now.
    Thanks,
    Clay

Thanks Superclay, but I've already tried that and more...still no luck it works for like 5 to 10 minutes then stops pushing.  I even went as far replacing my iphone 5 today and still no luck.  I also deleted my exchange account from my exchange server and recreated it, deleted device partnerships and re-added.....nothing push is still not working.  Push email for me is very significant.  I too am on Verizon.  I had to go back to my 4S which is running IOS 6 but push works flawlessly on that device.  It must be some kind of code that runs on the IOS 6 version for iphone 5 that is fudging this up.  I hope Apple and Verizon tackle this issue immediately because its causing me not to use my iphone 5, such a critical feature....not working...stay positive!

  • IOS not marking Exchange email messages as read

Microsoft Exchange email account set up on iPhone.  After reading messages on iPhone, they don't seem to be getting marked as "read".  When I go to view the same messages in an online web app or in Outlook 2013 client, or on another device, they look like new messages because they weren't marked as "read".
This has been happening for a while now, and I've seen other references online and in this forum dating back years with no responses or suggestions.
    Anyone?

I can set a per folder reading pane in Outlook 2013. Its a little weird, you have to sort of toggle it off and then reenable it again. I assume its the same for 2010, but I could be wrong. I have not tested it with a delegated mailbox however, you may have
to do the same thinng and toggle it back and forth.
Might be worth asking in the Outlook Forum to see if its even possible

  • IPhone will not display old emails in saved Outlook/Exchange folders

I have a second generation iPhone with the newest iPhone software. At work we use Microsoft Outlook for emails and my IT friend had previously set up my iPhone to send and receive Outlook emails. I could also access and read/forward/delete old emails that I save in various folders for reference. When Exchange became available he set up my iPhone to use Outlook using Exchange and deleted my old Outlook email account. Now I can see all the folders that have saved emails in them on my desktop computer, but the iPhone will not display any of these old saved emails prior to when he switched me over to Exchange. Is there anything I can do to get these emails back so I can refer to them on my iPhone?

Allan, thanks for that reply. I should have mentioned that I tried to reset that feature under SETTINGS, in which I tried the 1 month and even the NO LIMIT option, but I still can't get the old emailed in those saved items folders to display.

  • Mail OSX can not retrieve exchange emails, fine on iOS.

I was deleteing some emails from gmail and all of the sudden all my exchange emails back to 8/21/13 are missing.  I've deleted the exchange folder in Library > Mail > V2.  I've removed the exchange account from Internet Accounts and added it back.  Rebuild mailbox is greyed out.  Mail activity is doing something ever 10 seconds or so (incoming messages) but nothing is appearing in my exchange inbox newer than 8/21/13.

Well, it took about an hour but it looks like I'm back up and running.
Apparently, as Mail is retrieving messages it doesn't like to show them to you.  So I went from 8/21/13 to tday instantly after almost an hour long background sync.

  • How can I make my iPhone 4S auto-push my email?

As a student in college, I constantly email my professors back and forth but waiting 15 minute intervals until my mail refreshes is ridiculous.  I can't seem to find a way around this... I have just switch to the iphone from a blackberry which automatically pushed my email on its arrive to the server, so this is extremely annoying that I have to wait or manually push my mail. I mainly use my college email account which is not associated with g-mail, hotmail, yahoo etc. incase that might be an issue.

  • Iphone 5 not syncing exchange calendar

My iphone 5 is connected exchange 2010 server. It sends and recieves emails perfectly, but will not sync the calendar. It is completely blank and if I create a new event in it, it won't update to outlook. I have done several resets and checked that the exchange calendar is selected and is default.

Thanks James, however I have tried that numerous times. Even tried to restore the phone to factory settings however I am getting an error that prevents the restore. I'm starting to believe there is something wrong with the phone.

  • IPhone 4S not recognized/charging after iOS 6.0.1 update

    Hi,
I've upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.0.1 when the updates became available on my handset and everything seems to work fine until I plugged it into my iMac for some late-night development with XCode. It wasn't recognized/charging at all. At first, I thought the connector cable was faulty, but using the provided Apple charger and the same cable, charging was working....
This morning, when arriving at work, I upgraded an iPhone 4 (the previous generation) to iOS 6.0.1 and plugged it into my work iMac: Same issue.
It seems that upgrading the iOS version to 6.0.1 disable synching/charging on my iMac.
    Verified on:
    - iPhone 4 + iMac 27in Mid-2010 running Mountain Lion 10.8.2
    - iPhone 4S + iMac 27in Mid-2010 running Mountain Lion 10.8.2
I have no iPhone 5 available yet, so I cannot verify it, but it seems that something is amiss.
    Beware of iOS 6.0.1!

    Let's do a little recap:
    - Do not detect in iTunes/XCode on my iMac Mid-2010 running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (Both 4 and 4S)
    - Do not charge when plugged-in on my iMac Mid-2010 running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (Both 4 and 4S)
    - Soft Reset from the phone does not work (Only tried on iPhone 4)
    - Hard-Reset from the phone does not work (Only tried on iPhone 4)
    - DFU Mode will not trigger the iTunes. (Only tried on iPhone 4)
Perhaps it is not widespread, but it is annoying. Especially when the iPhone 4 is my work phone and I need it to deploy/test my App before submitting to the App Store!

  • Calendar entries made, edited or deleted on my iphone are not pushing to my PC outlook calendar.

For some reason any calendar event or entry that I create, edit or delete on my Iphone 3GS is not pushing on to my PC Outlook calendar.  When I check my calendar via the web at Icloud.com the entries I create, edit or delete on my Iphone are all correct.....but for some reason they don't seem to make it on to my Outlook calendar.
On the other hand, when I create, edit or delete an event on my PC Outlook calendar they do get pushed correctly on to my Iphone.....so it seems to only be working one way.
Looking forward to any help you can provide.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.
