IPhone 5 not working at all

So I woke up in the morning today, detached my phone which was connected to a Bose Sound Dock II using an original Apple 30-Pin to Lightning connecter. I checked my notifications, replied to some messages on Whatsapp, GTalk, Snapchat and then unplugged the 30-Pin to Lightning connector as got out of bed. I walked a few steps and tried bring up the lockscreen to check the time by pressing the home button (because my Sleep/Power button is broken) and nothing happened. I can't remember how much battery it had actually but I'm sure it had enough to stay on for like half a day. I'm sure its not overheated too. I tried plugging it to charge (because that how I turn my phone on since the Sleep/Power button isn't working) but it didn't show the Apple logo or low battery icon or anything. It didn't even vibrate when I plugged it in with silent mode on. And no sound when I plugged it with silent mode turned off. However I tried calling my phone to check whether its turned on and the telephone operator didn't say that "the phone is switched off or not in a service area" but there was no activity on the phone at all. I need a response for this ASAP. Please!
Thank you.
