IPhone 5 Plays Unchecked Songs

I have an iPhone5 and the latest iTunes (11.1). I have unchecked all Holiday songs, but still hear them when I shuffle my iphone music. Also, I see all the Holiday songs when I search Songs on my iPhone, but in my itunes on my laptop the songs are unchecked??

Are these holiday songs you purchased from the iTMS by any chance? A lot of us are having a problem in iOS7 with purchased music showing up in the rotation even though it is unchecked. You can tell if this is your problem because you'll see the little cloud/arrow icon next to the songs on your iphone.

I had the same issue in my 2012 Nissan Altima. It was a function in my car's stero settings. I had to go to the car's iPhone/iPod settings when the iPhone was plugged into the USB. My settings come up automatically when I plug in and I can scroll through the commands to "Shuffle" songs. Hope this helps.

yes, 10.3.1, iTunes already restarted, menu settings already like that and still it will play all unchecked songs (including the checked songs of course). Why even have check and unchecked if the program is going to play all of them anyway?!

So i fixed it by converting each song to a AAC File or whatever. Made a dulicate song but it works, just right click on the song and hit convert to aACC File. For one album I had to right click view in apple store and hit download on the songs that were skipping.

How do I make a playlist play UNchecked songs?

When creating a new smart playlist there's a checkbox option called "Match only checked items".
This means you can make a playlist that will include unchecked items.
Now how do I get them to play?
In particular I use the Genre field in conjunction with the Grouping field to identify Christmas songs. After all a Christmas song can be Rock, Funk, Soul, Pop, Folk, etc. whatever. I keep these songs unchecked so that they don't turn up in my smart playlists the rest of the year when I'm making a playlist of e.g. R&B.
However, I also have a smart playlist called Christmas that collects all these unchecked songs. Now how do I get it to play those songs?

which is incorrect. The option Sync only checked songs was put there for for additional control when syncing, not the only control
As noted, unchecking songs does more than simply not sync them.
And even when unchecked, you need to select the option to not sync checked songs.

Funny, I'm having my library (radio stations) shuffle every so often, minutes. Shuffle is turned off. - since update.

IPhone-only play one song then quits. After update

My Phone seems to have a problem where it only plays one song out of a playlist and maybe 2 seconds out of the next song and it quits the program and goes to the home page. The audio books don't seem to remember to start where they quit also. Worked fine before upgrade. Haven't tried to reset phone yet. Thanks for help.

Upon resyncing with my laptop this am the bug seemes to be gone and both problems have corrected them selfs. All songs play like they should and the audio books do remember where they stopped at.

IPhone only plays 1 song at a time

I can't seem to get the IPOD on my IPhone 3G to play more than 1 song at a time... If on shuffle or a particular CD it will play the same song repeatedly instead of moving on to the next song. Help!!

Play a track, in portrait orientation (upright) tap the album artwork to bring up the scrubber bar. Tap the oval repeat arrows on the left side of the scrubber bar:
white = repeat off
blue = repeat playlist
blue with a "1" = repeat song

Playing unchecked songs from PC library on Apple TV.

I have a 2nd generation Apple TV. I have home sharing enabled on iTunes on my PC and on my Apple TV.
I have a couple of unchecked albums on my iTunes library, for example Christmas albums which I don't want for them to be played if I select shuffle all songs from library.
I have just tried listening to an unchecked album from my PC library through my Apple TV and it only lets me listen to a specific song I select from the album. After the song is finished it will not skip to the next one. I can see all the songs from this unchecked album on my Apple TV, but If I select to shuffle the album it will tell me that no content has been found. If I go back to the library on iTunes and check all the songs it will let me shuffle or play the album in order.
Any suggestions??

My new IPhone 4 keeps playing the same song and won't play the next one! I have reinstalled the software and reset it, but still no luck.

See Page 77 of the User's Guide. Make sure you do not have it set to repeat that specific song.

maybe the screen on the phone dosent work.or it posibly could be that the program dosent work properly on your phone.you should probly contact customer service and ask tosned in your phone,so they can identify the problem.

Wrong song plays on iPhone 4S when specific song is selected, but correct cover art displayed

I recently downloaded "It Will Rain" (Bruno Mars) from iTunes and played it numerous times yesterday, as I usually do with any new downloaded song. However, after syncing iPhone 4S with computer today just to do some updating of my file sharing, my iPhone now plays the song that is listed after it even though the "It Will Rain" artwork and name is displayed correctly. It basically won't play the song anymore when selected. I even tried to go down the list to see if it would play if it wasn't selected directly and it seems like it takes awhile and then ends up skipping over to the next song, still displaying the "It Will Rain" cover art. I tried re-syncing and the problem doesn't appear to be within my iTunes account because it plays fine there. Not sure what to do at this point. iTunes won't let me repurchase it (not that I would want to have to).

Were these 26 songs purchased directly from the iPhone? If so, these might be "ghost" entries ... connect your iPhone to iTunes and click on the small arrow to the left of your iPhone's name. Select the iPhone's "Music" category and see if these 26 phantom songs appear grayed out. If so, that's probably what the message is about. I have the same problem, although for each of my 9 "ghost" songs on my iPhone I have legitimate entries that play just fine. I can only see these phantom entries on my iPhone when I view its contents through iTunes (and I get the same error message you get). Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for the error message, but ...
If these 26 songs really are in your iTunes library, are they set to be sync'd to your iPhone? (assuming that you auto-sync) In other words, are you either syncing your entire library, or at least a playlist (or genre) that you auto-sync to? If they're not part of your auto-sync categories, then they won't go back onto your iPhone until you designate them to auto-sync to your device.
If you manually manage music on your iPhone, can you drag and drop these 26 songs to your iPhone?

My iPhone 3G only plays one song

My iPhone decided to play one song over and over instead of the designated playlist like it had been. I can advance to another song if I press forward, but the playlist will not play. Also, there are no Looping-like symbols nor shuffle symbols that had always appeared. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem. My iPod on my iPhone only plays the song I select and it not automatically play the next song in the playlist. Shuffle does not work either. I have to actually hit the forward button which is incredibly annoying - especially when using it for my runs! I've tried settings on the iPhone, I've changed controls on my iTunes account on my computer and synced. Nothing works. Help!!! I'm running a 1/2 marathon this Sunday and I have to get this working before then!
