IPhone 5 power button issue .Apple store can't help !

I have an issue with my power button on my iPhone 5.It works perfectly sometimes and sometimes it doesn't .I have to press it 2,3 times to get it work .I took it to the Apple store and it worked perfectly there so they said they can't replace it unless they see the problem and they are right . But I don't know what to do it does it sometimes ,how am I going to go there in the right time .Do you have any other suggestions ? Thank you.

You can try calling an Apple support number for your location: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and see if they can help. Otherwise, when it starts acting up take it to an Apple store genius bar.
But try the support line first and see what help they offer.

As of now, they do not offer an unlocked option.

Power Button and Apple Store Issue

Hi,
Since 2 months my power button doesn't work. And also i have a contrast problem since the day i bought.
So, i'm in Turkey and there is no Apple Store yet. Tim Cook said there will be an Apple Store soon but my warranity will end 23rd November '13. So, i have to be quick to reach an Apple Store so, i can get a replacement or repair.
Is there any way that i ca reach any Apple Store via mail? I mean sending my phone by mail and they can send back again? I don't know but, i need a real solution ASAP before my warranity end.
And, let's hope Apple Store Turkey open before the 23rd November.

You can actually have it fixed under warranty, no need to wait for the Apple Store.
All portable Apple products come with a worldwide warranty. I've had the screen of a macbook changed due to several dead pixels. I've also had the motherboard of a MacBook Pro changed almost after 4 years after the purchase. Both were absolutely free, and with very high quality service.
They usually check the warranty status using the serial nr and may ask for the invoice. Just go to any one of the authorized service points on this link:

IPhone Power Button Issues

I bought my IPhone from Verizon at the end of May 2011. Yesterday the power button on top started sticking and has become difficult to press down. First, should I bring it into a Verizon store or an Apple store? Second, is this something that will be covered within the one year warranty. I have a case on my phone and did not drop it before the button started sticking.

IPhone 5 Power button issues after recent update.

After this most recent update, my power button is not working as it normally does. It takes two or three attempts to turn the phone off and more than once to turn it. Sometimes it turns on and immediately turns off. This is happening only after this update.

Yes 7.1.2 I had a 7.1 backup, and no issues with that... but then I did a clean DL of 7.1.2 and once again with NO apps on the iphone power button issues... as mentioned. So it is not the apps, nor songs, nor anything else...just 7.1.2 I am now running 7.1 no issues.

Can I also switch to my own contract? I am on my parents plan as of right now, and need to go to my own contract. If I get an iPhone 5 at an Apple Store, can I switch my contract to my own at the Apple Store? Would they be able to do that for me? Or is that something that only Verizon can do? I think it wouldn't work this way, but I just want the iPhone 5 already, and cannot wait!
Or could I go to a Radioshack or Walmart or Target to buy an iPhone 5 and have them switch to my contract? Again, high hopes, but just asking.

Within the warranty period, unless the failure was caused by accidental damage it will be replaced for free.

The nice thing about owning this overpriced POS is that Apple not only doesn't support it, but also doesn't want to hear about anything negative regarding it. So I have found a common denominator to this phenomenon. After having the same problem, I started to recopy my playlist of 500+ songs in groups of 10-20, 30+, 75+, and then over a 100+. Any music I have purchased from iTunes won't copy, but everything else did. Unsure if I made a playlist called "Purchased" at some point or this is an iTunes default, I also noticed it had some of the songs contained in my other playlist and was showing on my iPhone. Regardless of what I did such as dragging music from that playlist to the other and clearing songs from that playlist, I removed it altogether from the iPhone itself vs. doing through iTunes. After that, music copied fine to my playlist.
So, my theory is that iTunes is getting tripped up on purchased tracks already showing on the phone and all songs are showing grayed out/dotted circle because iTunes can't resolve the conflict with purchased tracks.

Not covered by warranty. If you make an appointment at an Apple store, you will be offered an out of warranty replacement. Cost is US $199 for an iPhone 4S.
