IPhone 5 proven faster than Galaxy SIII with benchmark tests!!!!!

Thought this might be useful to people thinking about the iPhone 5---speed test AND real world drop tests!!! iPhone 5 zips past Galaxy SIII in Speed Test http://news.yahoo.com/iphone-5-zips-past-galaxy-iii-speed-test-132936436.html iPhone 5 Humiliates Galaxy SIII in Drop Test http://news.yahoo.com/iphone-5-humiliates-galaxy-iii-drop-test-video-154148011.html iPhone 5's A6 processor found to have a dual-core CPU, triple-core GPU http://news.yahoo.com/iphone-5-a6-processor-found-dual-core-cpu-220506025.html

LOL...nothing...just been trying like hell to find some speed test..and stumbled across these plus the drop test....the phone is a pretty hot topic and thought that I would provide some objective facts rather than the normal colorful metaphor bashing that seems to be the norm on alot of forums.  Rather than just saying what I think, I think is more important to see and read objective facts and then let the viewer draw his or her own conclusion.

Is the iPhone 4G 32GB faster than the 16GB? Are there any other advantages to getting the 32GB (other than memory size)? Thank you.

Thanks very much. A friend who bought the 32GB said it has more ram and is therefore faster. But I was skeptical
As Track607 stated, you guys have no idea the difference in terms.
Memory is RAM, and is NOT the same as STORAGE. And no, it's not "the same difference", it's completely different.
Also, to add, the iPhone does not have the capability to use virtual memory, thus, the iPhone could have 64 gigs of storage, and it wouldn't run faster. Your friend does not know about computers. Don't ever let him help you pick out a computer.

  • IPhone 4 is faster than the iPad

i have both and i have been doing some speed testing on them. and the iPhone has been rendering pages faster. and not mobile sites. and not already visited sites. i loaded a non-mobile website that i have never viewed, its definitely faster.

They do have the same A4 chip. However, the iPhone has 512 MB of RAM as opposed to the 256 MB of RAM in the iPad.
Though as mentioned, all the professional tech blog/news sites that have tested show the iPad faster and they even brought up how the iPhone has more RAM but realized the iPhone is underclocked.

  • Issues with iPhone 5 texting to Galaxy SIII

I have an iPhone 5 and my son just changed from an iPhone 5 to a Galaxy SIII. I am receiving his texts, but now he can't receive my texts unless I turn my iMessage off, but doing this is conflicting with my other friends who have iPhones. Is there an easier way to send him texts without having to turn my iMessage off/on each time I want him to receive my texts?

Because that is what you added to your profile, iPod touch.  And that's what you had selected when you created this question.  Just because you clicked on 'iPhone 5' in the 'Select a Category' option, that's not the same as selecting your particular affected product below it under 'Product'
More of that stellar customer reading comprehension at work.  You do realize you're not talking to Apple here?  This is a user-to-user technical support forum, which was made clear in the Terms of Use that you agreed to.  I know, that was over three years ago, but still... reading comprehension for the win.

  • Can iphone with vodafone network unlocked faster than two days?

iphone 4 locked to vodafone. Already contacted vodafone but they said it takes 2 days. But need to do it faster than that as I am going abroad? Can any one help please?

Nobody can help. Vodafone are the only people who can initiate the unlock. If they say it takes 2 days, that's how long it takes.

  • What is faster, an iphone 6 or a samsung galaxy s6?

what is faster,an iphone 6 or a samsung galaxy s6

    Hi there
I’d be happy to help with your device question! As far as performance goes, these two devices are considered to be quite evenly matched, however in benchmark tests, the Samsung Galaxy S6 appears to outperform the iPhone 6. In normal day-to-day usage, you’d be hard pressed to be able to tell the two apart when it comes down to performance! I’d recommend visiting one of our AT&T company stores where you can test them out for yourself!
    I hope this helps!

  • No service with Galaxy SIII

I have had the SIII for about 2 months now. I had the iPhone 4S previously and had great service with it so I know it's not the area I live in. Since I got the SIII I have had trouble sending and receiving texts and now I very rarely have phone service. I have called Verizon and they have replaced my SIM card. I like the actual phone better than the iPhone and really don't want to have to switch back to it but if I don't have service with this one I don't see much of an option.

        Hi sarjohn05,
I want you to enjoy your phone and I am here to help! What is your current zip code? Do yo experience the issue in or outdoors? Are you using a 3rd party messaging application? I realize this is a relatively new device for you, when did the issue begin? I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  • New 16GB iPhones Faster than 8GB Model?

A friend of mine is telling me that the new 16GB iPhones are faster than the “old” 8GB iPhones. I havn't found any proof of that and thought I would post the question here. I just picked up a new iPhone a few weeks ago and the store didn’t have the 16GB model yet. My iTunes library is small enough to fit on the 8GB so I went with it. Is it true that there is something more than just a larger hard drive in the new 16GB iPhone?

Nope. Specs are the same aside from storage.

  • Will my duel 800 G4 work with Leopard? Its fast than the 867 G4?

My duel 800 G4 was the top of the line when I purchased it, much faster than the 867 G4, which seems to be the limit on the new Leopard operating system. Will I still be able to upgrade? I have seen on other Apple forums many people asking the same question? I would appreciate any help.

Well, the minimum system requirements that Apple tells us really aren't always totally truthful. For example, they say OS 10.4 needs a minimum 256 MB Ram, and a DVD drive. That isn't true. I have tested this on a few different machines and found that the true minimum requirements are 192 MB for installation, 128 MB for running. On an ibook G3 500 mhz with 128 MB RAM, 10.4 ran surprisingly well. It was a little laggy of course, but it was stable and reliable. Also, you do not need a DVD drive, as you can use target disk mode to install the system from another computer (yes, the other computer needs a dvd drive...but I am speaking in specifics). What they say in their requirements is for the general public, but most of the time they aren't entirely dogmatic on those requirements.
If it were my guess, I would say 10.5 will probably run on your system. If they entirely cutoff installation based on clockspeed, I'm guessing some mac-hacker will figure it out.
Also, as far as your computer being top of the line "when you bought it"-that's the issue. Basically everyone's mac was top of line or near top of the line at it's release. But we all know the computer industry is not a slow moving market. Your computer can be outdated in a few months or a year. I helped a guy buy his first mac a few months ago (imac). 2 days later Apple released the new imac. That's the nature of computers. And you really can't expect Apple to keep supporting machines approaching 7 years old (my ol' Gigabit). They want to be at the head of the market, and pushing the old out is some times the only way to do it.
You always have the option to upgrade your system. Go and look at some cpu upgrade cards. They aren't all that expensive. For $400 I turned my dual 450 to a dual 1.4 Ghz (and don't forget the level 3 cache). Third party upgrades are what keep us old timers goin.

    Hello,
If you're in a country where there's an apple shop (unfortunately not mine), go check it and ask the employee about it: he's gonna check your Iphone on a "device"
I've got an iphone 5 and it's working very well with me but I have to admit that its battery lasts (slower) than my Ipad 2.
Still i can help with some tips that may improve your iohone's battery by an hour in addition (hopefully):
    - close all apps by multitasking....
    - do NOT keep the brightness to the max
Believe me you're gonna regret changing your phone to a samsung
Hope i've helped and sorry for my bad english (has english as 3rd language)

Use the Deauthorize All command documented in this article, or if it isn't an option, the 'contact iTunes Store support' link at the bottom of it.

  • Very slow network performance - with uploads faster than downloads

I just got new ISP - 100 mbps through a Cat5 line. It checks out when I run ethernet directly to a computer. However, I want a totally wireless network.
I have a Time Capsule attached by ethernet and that is my main network device. I also have two airport Xpress' to extend the network.
I am getting, on average, 16 mbps! And, upload speed is generally higher.
The Time Capsule is about 2 yrs old, but it is an "n" device.
Anybody have any idea what the problem might be? I was considering getting a new extreme and using the Time Capsule as an extender instead of the expresses because, as I understand it, the express has one band only. Would that be better? Mainly, I want to get the speed up to what it should be.
Is there some way to trouble shoot the Time Capsule?
Others in my building with D Link or Linksys routers are getting over 80 mbps wirelessly, so I know it is possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to stay with Apple products, but if not possible I will get another brand of router.
    Thanks,
    Deanna

So, William, I got an Airport Extreme. Within 20 or so feet of it I am now getting 85 to 95 Mbps!
    Great!
However, in the far reaches of the house, signal is low and I have not been able to extent network with either the Time Capsule or an Airport Express. They just won't connect.
Based on the earlier numbers you gave me, you won't be able to establish a reliable connection "in the far reaches of the house", as it's too far away from the base router. You'll either have to (1) run Ethernet to that remote unit, (2) use PowerLine units as an Ethernet extender, or (3) put the remote unit closer to the base unit.
I reset the Time Capsule a couple of times. I noticed that both devices are automatically set to channel 157.
That's a 5 GHz channel. That band can give faster throughput, but the signal strength falls off faster than in the 2.4 GHz band.
The Extreme has 2 channels - 2 and 157. I do not have the option of changing the channel on either of the other devices.
That makes sense, if they're configured to extend an existing network. They must communicate on the same channel as the base station they're extending.
