IPhone 5 randomly turned off and will not turn back on
My iphone 5 home button started to stick, about 20 minutes later, the phone would not turn on/activate. Now it will not turn back on. It won't even ring for an on-coming call. Phone is 1 week old.
What can I do to get my phone to turn back on? I have tried holding the sleep and home button together and nothing happens.
recovery mode
open itunes on computer
plug cable into computer not iOS device
turn device off
hold home button and plug cable into IOS device. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on IOS device.
look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore

You can try to press the home button and power button and hold them for around 15-20 seconds. This will perform a soft reset similar to pulling the battery. If that doesn't help you may need to restore it.

It seems that year long delay from having your lock button repaired has finally caught up to you. Sounds like you have some damage to your phone that requires repair/replacement. Take it to a Apple store or contact Apple Tech Support.

Make sure it's charged...plug into a wall outlet for at least 30 minutes, then reset it: Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPhone 5 screen is black and will not come back on. The phone still works when paired with my vehicles Bluetooth what's wrong with it, and can I fix it?
I have a similar problem. I restored my iPhone 5 to the latest available OS. After completing the process the phone never restarted. The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon. I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone. The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads. iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does. I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery. This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help. A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged. She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on. I don't think it is a battery issue. The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone. Repairing it was out of the question. At this point the phone is completely useless. Thanks in advance for the help.

Let it charge for an hour or two.
If it doesn't Coe back on, try a Reset.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first). -

Connect iPhone to Wall Charger for 10 minutes, it may turn ON itself. If still nothing, keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until the iPhone begins to respond.

can anybody offer advice or helpConnect to Wall Charger for 10 minutes, it may come on itself. If still off, keep on Wall Charger and Reset, Hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to start. This can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger.
