Iphone 5 Reboots on its own after ios 8.1 update

Has anyone had this problem as well? after updating over wireless my iphone 5 started rebooting at odd and random times mostly while im using the phonei.ve restored it on my mac but the problem still persists can anyone help me?

This is the Kicker I think...... It is NOT a reboot for me.....
Ok.... you look at your phone and you see that it has or is in the process of rebooting. Or you think because the apple icon is glowing center screen that is what you see when you reboot your phone.
With me.... I am on a call, a text or something, and look down at my phone (while I'm talking to my party) and see that my phone is rebooting. I say "Hello".... and yet I am still on the call and they hear me just fine. Can't hit buttons, can't mute phone, can't answer call waiting because it says it is rebooting and locked up till you get to main screen again.
But it actually isn't rebooting....... Not for me anyway. But all this time until it happened on a phone call I thought it was actually rebooting.
Fooled me.....

  • IPhone reboots on its own -

Wondering if I can get the attention of some of the mods -
My iPhone, when docked and playing music, reboots on its own. I touch nothing, it is not connected to anything but my desktop speaker system and it is working itself through the playlists.
Odd behavior that I have not seen when it isn't docked.
    Thoughts are welcome.

Try a powerdown. If that doesn't work. Try a reset. If that doesn't work, try a restore. One of those should take care of it.

  • Will CUCM reboot on its own after installing ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.1.cop.sgn

    I'm upgrading a server to 8.6 and i've installed ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.1.cop.sgn.
These were the last couple lines from the console:
    02/23/2012 23:08:48  killing copstart.sh pid=31809

    Successfully installed ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.1.cop.sgn
A system reboot is required when the upgrade process completes or is canceled.  This will ensure services affected by the upgrade process are functioning properly.

Will the server reboot on its own, or do I need to manually initiate a restart myself?

    Hi Michael,
Aaron is most correct here (No doubt +5)
    The final reference you are seeing via the cli output;
A system reboot is required when the upgrade process completes or is canceled.  This will ensure services affected by the upgrade process are functioning properly.
is in relation to the actual 8.6 upgrade process, not the refresh.cop
    The details are in this great doc from Ryan;

  • IPhone reboots every 15 minutes after iOS 6.1.2 upgrade

"Reboots" is the best way to describe it. Every 15 minutes or so, my iPhone suddenly goes to the Apple logo over black and back to my passcode screen (though doesn't stay on the logo as long as during a manual reboot). Doesn't matter if the phone is sleeping or being used. This started happening after I updated to 6.1.2 directly on the phone. Unfortuantely, I didn't do a manual back-up before updating as I've been relying on automatic iCloud backups.
    Any advice?

    Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the red slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
    - Press the red  to delete apps from this list.
    - Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

  • IPhone 5c stopped turning on after IOS  8.1 update.

2 days ago i decided to update my iPhone 5c to IOS 8.1. There was no noticeable issues with the update, but after attempting to use the phone, i did notice that the phone was not powering on. I've contacted apple support, and have done all the trouble shooting steps with no luck; however since i am no longer under warranty, apple refused to provide me with the repair without paying a $260 fee.
Anyone have another solution to this problem? And am i wrong for thinking since it happened right after the update, apple should be responsible to fix this issue?

  • Why wont my iphone charge from my computer after ios 7.1 update?

I have a windows 8.1 PC.  I use it for work.  I also have an iphone.  Today, I updated the ios on my phone to 7.1.  During the update, the phone was connected to my PC usb port with the apple charging cable to keep it charged.  The update finished, and I noticed that the battery was at 66%.  It was 100% before I started the update.  There was no lighting bolt/charging symbol.  I disconnected the phone from the computer.  I plugged it into the apple wall charger.  It charges from that.  I tried another apple cable on the PC.  Still no dice.  I do get the sound from the PC that a device is being connected/disconnected when I plug/un-plug the cable from the phone on the PC.  When the phone is connected to the PC, It won't show on "this PC" as any device.  I did try re-starting the PC.  I did update Itunes, and did a back up of my phone before the update, using the exact same cable.
Why is my iphone 4G w ios 7.1 not charing when connected to my Win 8.1 PC?

I found the solution on my own. I opened task manager, admin, computer management, device manager.  I scanned for harware changes.  Apple mobile device came up with an ! symbol.  I right clicked and updated the apple mobile device driver. It took about 15 seconds, but...
I never had to do this with any computer on my iphone 3 or 4G on any computer.  Would have been good to know, apple.

  • IPhone BATTERY DEAD over night after iOS 5.1 update( 2 nights in a row)

I updated my iPhone on Friday night to the "improved" iOS 5.1 software and I have now discovered that for the second night in a row, the battery is dead upon awakening in the morning with the phone having some 80% charge level when I went to sleep last night. Is anyone else having this problem after updating to the new iOS 5.1 software?
If so, ow do I fix it and what is the problem?
Thanks for taking the time to read/ respond

    Hello gdgmacguy
    1. What's the point to keep iPhone plugged in overtime during all night? Is there anything wrong if I'll restore without it? Is there any more detailed explanation?
    2. When I will restore iPhone as new, and if it resolves my problem, will I then be able to restore my data from existing backup so that to retain resolved problem?
Thank you very much for your support.
    Regards,

  • Iphone 5s battery drains fast after ios 7.1 update.

Am I the only one who seems to be experiencing this? My iphone 5S battery seem to drain much faster than usual, and charge longer. I heard that the new update is supposed to increase battery life, and read comparison threads regarding other iphones that are capable of a much better battery life than mine.
I've had my phone for 3 months, never have dropped it once or anything of the sort, if that matters. My battery drains to 50% within an hour or so after intense use on the lowest level of brightness, and I seem to lose about 5-7 percents when on standby for 5 hours or so. Is this normal? Is it perhaps due to the fact that I am mostly using 3g, and applications that require more processing such as tumblr (graphics and gifs) as well safari? I'm just worried that my battery may be draining to quick, despite the update which's supposed to make it much better according to many people.
    Thanks.

    Me too.
I went from plugging in to charge at the end of the night, around 11pm, to barely getting through a workday with very light use.  With less than 10 hrs of standby and maybe 30 minutes with the screen even on I am rocking 15% battery life.  I'm also connected to wifi whenever at home or in the office, which accounts for over 9 hours of the standby time.
I know people are suggesting turn off features... but eff that, 5 days ago I'd get through an entire day without any issue, under much heavier useage.  I don't want to have to turn on bluetooth everytime I get in my car and back off when I get out, I just want it to work when I turn the car on... I don't want to manually check for emails, I want it to tell me when an email comes.

  • IPhone 3GS Will not boot after iOS 4.3 Update....

I updated my wife's 3GS last night and when it was done it rebooted and started filling up the line under the apple logo like it always does after the software is loaded but after the bar fills up, the phone locks up and does not go past the apple logo with a full bar under it. - iTunes also locks up when you connect the phone. I've tried to restore it but it does the same thing.... any ideas?

You're further than I am!! Mine's frozen on the apple with an empty progress bar. And absolutely nothing seems to be working. I've tried taking the SIM card out, tried restoring to previous system, but Itunes won't recognise the phone. It's absolutely doing my head in and I'm going out of town in the morning and really don't fancy being without my phone!

  • My iphone wont connect to itunes after ios 7.0 update. Help!

I can not set up any of my apps after the new update. It keeps telling me to connect to itunes to enable push notifications. The message keeps popping up so I can not even use the app without having the push notifications enabled. I also am unable to activate my imessages. How can I fix this problem? Its rather annoying.

Ok this is how I fixed this. Apparently iTunes uses Safari.
Go to Settings -> Safari -> and Clear Cookies and Data and also Clear History - scroll down to see those settings.
Set Block Cookies to either "from third parties and advertisers" or "Never" (you choose which one)
In Advanced (scroll down its the last setting) make sure JavaScript in ON
Here  is the last step I had to make to fix it - which may not apply to you.  Some time ago I changed my primary email for apple. I noticed it was  asking me to enter the password for the secondary email.
I  went into iTunes and App Store, tapped my Apple Id and then Sign Out. I  then resigned in using my primary Apple email and password.
Just to make sure, I turned the phone off and on, but honestly this may be optional.
    I am now working again.
    I hope this helps you.

  • HP 2140 Mini reboots on its own...

Hello everybody, I need your help.
My HP2140 Mini reboots on its own after being shut down. This only happens when it's on AC-Power, not when on battery power only. It's due to a software glitch and not due to a faulty power supply.
I had this problem once before and was able to get ahold of a software fix that stopped it from doing it. That software fix came directly from HP and was emailed to all HP2140 Mini owners.
Since I had to reinstall the Operating System again, that software fix is now gone and I don't have the email anymore.
    Can anyone help?

An alternative is SANE, here is a link, its also FREE. The first link shows the scanners supported. The second is the program link.

Check your mouse configuration, if you have a Mighty Mouse, one configuration is to have the side buttons launch Dashboard (widgets) or click the scroll wheel for example.
