Iphone 5 Replacement - Damage Charges ??
Apple are replacing my Iphone 5 for €30 due to dust in the camera lens.
There will be a fee taken out of my account to cover the cost of my phone until the old one is returned to them.
Any damage to my old phone will be taken out of this approx €550 sum...
The lady on the phone said it would only really be for water damage, cracks, big chips and scratches.
Not for cosmetic wear and tear. . . . this is where I'm just wondering what would constitute further than that.
All scratches on my screen are small, bar one tiny deeper one where you can see the colours flux from the inside. (from my earrings, stupid long phone)
Tiny chip on metal surround... but who doesn't have these, I'll be ****** if I'm charged after Apple saying to expect them from general wear and tear.
Has anyone had experience with sending a phone back you thought was fine only to be charged?
If so what were the charges like?

I also had this problem with all of my lightning cables, but did not realized it was simply dust in my iPhone port. I used a paper twist tie to remove gently the dust, and voilà, the port works fine now. -

You can remove your Apple ID from a device by going to iTunes on your computer and then Sign In to view your account. You should then see and option that says Manage Devices and then you can remove it from the list.

My iPhone 4S doesn't charge. I tried multiple connectors. I'm thinking my battery needs replacing. I had an appt today at the Genius bar. The Apple associate was a bit abrupt. She looked at the receptacle where the connector goes. Declared it corroded and offered to sell me a new phone. I said it doesn't look that bad and I believe it may be the battery and asked if there is way to test if it was my battery. She said "no", according to what I'm seeing the receptacle is damaged due to the corrosion I'm seeing.
I didn't have the time nor the patience to deal with her and left in disgust
I'm thinking about going to another Apple store to have it checked out.

You can go anywhere you want. The notes about your previous visit and diagnosis will remain in Apple's records. Notes are attached to the serial number on the iPhone that was inspected. -
Can I have the back panel of my iPhone 5s replaced (it is damaged, but the phone is still operational) if i come into an Apple store?
I have applecare plus, but this only covers operational issues or 2 accidental issues (ex., water damage, drop and phone operation is affected).
Apple would not be willing to charge me for the back panel and labor involved in replacing it?

A warranty issue (defective hardware) would justify a replacement. You would receive a refurbished iPhone 4s as the replacement. I recommend that you go to an Apple store (if you have one close by) or a Verizon store to have them check out that sticky volume button.

I bought my iPhone 6 three months ago in Spain (when I visited there).
Two days ago I dropped my iPhone and the screen has totally cracked.
My question is, if I give my iPhone to a friend who flies to the U.S, can he get into a Genius Bar or any other Apple's service store and get
the screen replaced with a new one? or I can only replace it in Spain?
If so, how much would that cost (109$?), and do I need any documents to bring with it (any proof of purchase, like receipt).

went through a couple iphones in two weeks (no joke) had to keep returning to the apple store which is an hour and a half away from my hometown (parents weren't too happy with the amount they spent on petrol!!) first of all i got a replacement iphone because the one i had wasnt playing music, just before my iphone started playing up i had purchased a fake charger online after losing my genuine one, the fake one looked genuine enough. So i proceeded to use the fake charger once i had my replacement to find my replacement iphone wasnt holding charge and turning off itself etc. (after being charged using the fake charger) i returned the replacement iphone and the apple support man at genius desk suggested it could be the charger (i didnt think this could be possible, a charger causing so much trouble) so i blamed apple. got another replacement and i decided to purchase a genuine apple charger (just put of curiousity) iphone is now working fine, keeping battery had no problems. therefore i believe fake chargers may be appealing to buy (as the cost is cheap) but purchasing a genuine one is a small price to pay considering all the trouble i went through!

my iphone 5 wont charge? I started to have difficulties charging it when I downloaded ios7 and over time it started to become more and more of a problem, then yesterday I thought it might have been the charging port so I got that replaced but it is still not charging. even with both of my chargers and a friends charger it didn't charge, does anyone have any idea what might be the problem? if its ios7 or the hardware? and what should I do i am still within warranty but I'm not sure if that still counts since it has had a part replaced, or would the apple store be able to help me out?
Replacing the charging port (which is NOT user serviceable) has voided your warranty with Apple, and forfeited your abiltity to receive any further support on that phone, including from this forum.
You'll need to look elsewhere for assistance.

If you assume a linear decrease in battery charge for each full cycle (which it really isn't, but much easier to model in a spreadsheet). Then 80% of original charge after 400 full cycles is approximately 0.8% loss in battery charge per full charge cycle (again this is a simplification, stay with me). This means that after 400 cycles, you are at approximately 80% of your original total charge level. As stated by Apple.
So, extrapolating that out to EOL (end of life) which Apple assumes to be 50% battery charge, it would take approximately 1,000 full charge cycles for your battery to be EOL (according to Apple). It would actually be slightly less than that since it won't be a linear function.
For me, that's 2 to 4 years of use depending on whether or not I continue using the iPhone as much as I have this first full week. -

Make sure there's nothing blocking a contact in the charging port of the phone.

If you are in India, contact your local service center for a price quote. I don't know if Indian service centers can replace just the back glass or if they will need to replace the entire iPhone. To locate a service center, see:

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.
If the basic troubleshooting steps don't work, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and probable replacement.
