Iphone 5 rings only intermittently

My iphone 5 has stopped ringing intermittedly for months now on my iphone 5. I have been missing phonecall after phonecall. (And I've checked the silence/mute switch). A few days ago I spoke to a friend who has an iphone 5 and his phone is having the same problem of not ringing all the time. Yesterday, I went to the VerizonWireless store and complained to them about my iphone not ringing and they admitted that other people have complained about having the same problem! The employee tried calling me while I was there and it didn't ring .
Where is Apple on this!? My expensive iphone is being used as a fancy answering machine! The Verizon employee told me to sell this iphone 5 on Ebay to get $300 for it, but I told her that it would be dishonest for me to knowingly sell nonfunctional junk on Ebay. She praised me for my "integrity"?! Where is Apple?? These Apple forums are full of frustrated people who have the same problem with their silent iphone 5. I'm turning into an anti-Apple guy and am very vocal about this.

This post has already been answered. Why are you plugging your own site with an answer that has already been given? Not to mention that the information you are handing out is incorrect. There is no bug, there is no patch, and no one needs to delete any email addresses. Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue persists, take the device to Apple for further assistance.

We do not help people with unlocked iPhones.
Make sure the switch on the side is set to ring, go to settings and make sure the sound is up and ring is on and all.
Other than that try to google a forum that deals with hacks.

I had the same problem. I took the phone to the local tech shop and they replaced a fried headphone flex cable. Cost me $70.

In other phones, you can hear the phone ringing and if it was connected to bluetooth, you could pick up the call from the bluetooth headset.
Here with iphone, if its connected to bluetooth headset, it only rings through the headset, which means that if you dont have the headset in the ear all the time, you cannot know that you have an incoming call or message.
Any ideas - solutions - comments please?

I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. I'd really like to be able to hear both, like I was before. This is an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 (latest version, not sure what it is exactly). Haven't updated software/firmware in between bluetooths, just changed the earpiece.

How do you adjust how long the iphone rings for before going to voicemail? Mine diverts after only a couple of rings.

I believe you do that through your phone service provider. I wonder if you have unheard messages in your voice mailbox. I think some carriers use that mechanism - diversion to voicemail faster if the recipient has unheard messages.
I do not believe you can change this directly on your iPhone.

Cell phones do many things I don't care about, and iPhones do more things than any of them.
To each his/her own but my experience with cell phones is the complete opposite which goes way back when they were mounted in your car only. A range of features or settings I don't want or care about and if I happened to come across an available setting I might be interested in, it was a chore to return to the location where the setting was available since the user interface was so very poor. I continue to use a Razr 3m with Verizon for business and what a joke in comparison to me.
The iPhone does not do this so don't buy one if this feature is very important to you. At least you checked beforehand. No point in purchasing such a device that doesn't meet your needs or wants.
If not, then why not? I really want a good answer to this.
Not sure why not - maybe because this isn't a very common request. I've never used a cell phone that included such a feature. Apple doesn't answer questions here - this is a user to user help forum for technical support issues and questions only so we can only assume Apple chose not to include it or probably didn't even consider it but you can check with the provider regarding the number of rings allowed before a call goes to voice mail and if available, this would probably be a universal setting only - not by designated caller.

Cannot hear iPhone Ring with Headset

I just started using the V-Moda Vibe II wired headset but I usually prefer to leave the earpiece hanging from my shirt while I'm not making calls. This is because the earpiece interferes with my hearing as it blocks outside noise. The problem is I cannot hear my iPhone ringing because it only plays within the earpiece and not from the iPhone's speaker. I set my phone on vibrate but sometimes while having it on my holster and walking I cannot feel the vibration. Is there a way for the iPhone speaker ringer to work while using a headset? If not, Apple should make this an option in Preferences>Sound.

You're right! You know what's weird? Whenever I charge my iPhone to my iHome alarm clock radio, my iPhone's sound settings get all weird. Perhaps because when I connect it, my iPhone says that "This accessory is not compatible with iPhone", even though it should according to the alarm clock box. Keyboard clicks disappear. So maybe my sound settings got screwed up because of that. I just tested it and heard the ringer from my iPhone. Thanks guys!

Mid-2010 macbook pro mini display port to hdmi works only intermittently

I have a 13-inch mid-2010 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.10.2. HDMI out from mini displayport to my Dynex TV only intermittently works. The times that I have gotten it to work involves a combination of restarting the computer, unplugging the TV and plugging it back in, then plugging in the MDP adapter. Now when I plug it in, the MacBook screen flashes black like it is trying to detect the external display, but no picture on the TV. Any help would be appreciated.

No. You really can't do that. Not easily at any rate. You would have to set them both up to use POP3, but even then there is no way to guarantee that the phone won't poll the server prior to your computer doing so, pulling down the message from the server.

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer.
